Nokia :: N95 - How To Create Playlist From Specific Directory?
Apr 11, 2010
I want to create playlist from specific folder
ex: memory cardmusicamir music
The problem now is that if I have more then one folder, all the songs from all the folders will be mixed toghter and I will need to search for every song in the very long list. Is there any way to create playlist from specific directory? mybe using nokia pc suite or windows media player?
Why Nokia Music Player does not have an option to create playlists from a directory? It would be useful just to select a directory and to have a playlist with the music files from that directory. Is there another Music player for Symbian Belle that have this feature ?
I recently purchased the HTC One X. Seems to be a great phone however I'm coming over to Android from Iphone where everything is easily integrated and works mostly flawlessly together. I downloaded an app called "My Cookbook". I've been trying to transfer some recipe files over from Mastercook to the app on my HTC phone. According to their directions, it looked as if I could do this via dropbox. After trying several times, I finally contacted the creator of the App. Here is their reply:Thanks for having purchased My Cookbook ProActually the dropbox connexion in My Cookbook allows only to backup your recipes and to synchronize them on difference devices. You have an internet connexion error because the app can't find your backup file. We have to improve our error messages. If you want to import in my cookbook other recipes, you have to copy them on your sd card in the sdcard/MyCookbook directory. You can find some documentation on My CookBook
A friend and I are trying to get rid of playlist that we did not create and they are interfering with the playlist we did create. To much clutter. Is it possible to get rid of them?
I have just receive my new X8. Do you know how to create playlists with the music player? And if not, is there any music player available on Android market who can create playlist?
Seems Touch-Wiz on 4.4.2 has taken away this feature. On my Samsung Galaxy S4 Active I could use Any Cut to create a short cut, and while Any Cut still has limited functionality on 4.4.2 it no longer shows Playlists. Just trying to create a shortcut to a playlist, so I do not have to navigate through multiple screens to start the playlist I want to play.
Until I can create and populate a playlist via a native Android app, I wanted to see how feesible it is to create a playlist manally in Linux and put it on the MA.Its amazingly easy.ere is what I did:1 - I mounted the motoactv and browsed to the <mountpoint>/mobile/mml folder2. I created a new subdirectory - (I used "local" but I dont thing the name matters"3. Using a playlist created in the Itunes subdirectory as a template, I created a playlist (which is just plain ascii text) and put the list in my "local" subdirectory. The name of the playlist file is what will be used as a playlist name. I called mine - "libtest.pls". All I did is change the path to my Music folder, change tne NumberOfEntries entry, and change the directory slashes to match the windows style.he contents of my "libtest.pls" playlist look like this - Playlist]File1=mediaMOTOACTVMusicBluesAynsley ListerTower Sessions1 Soundman.mp3File2=mediaMOTOACTVMusicBluesDelta MoonHell Bound Train9 - Ghost in My Guitar.mp3NumberOfEntries=2Version=2
I have an iPhone 4 and recently purchased a new computer. The technician transferred my iTunes files and they are all on my new computer; however, when I try to create a Playlist, I'm unable to drag it to the iPhone device. It worked on my video iPod, but not with the iPhone. When I try to sync the music library, it says that I will delete all files on my iPhone.Â
I used to be able to create playlists on my iPhone by going into the Music app, the Playlists, then choosing +New Playlist. Â
That option doesn't exist anymore. When I go into playlists, only playlists I have synced to my phone from iTunes are there, no option to create a new one one the run. What happened to it?
When I get attachments, I want to be able to create specific folders to store those attachments in. The folders that Quick Office seems to point to are dcim (which, to my knowledge relates to pictures) and a directory called LOST.dir. How do I (1) create folders (or a directory structure of folders, and (2) tell Quick Office to point there? Or, do I have to tell GMAIL what to do with attachments?
I'm trying to import passwords from an XML file. I exported the files and sent them to my Turbo and saved the attachments. Problem is that the app is looking for the file in a certain file.
I'm trying to figure out how to create the file name that the app is looking for.
I had an iPhone 5s which I broke so I am using a friend's old Galaxy and am debating on getting the iPhone 6, but one thing I REALLY like about Android is the fact that it automatically places photos generated by certain apps into their own albums, in particular WhatsApp and Viber. On my iPhone these pics would just get intermingled in the Camera Roll album. I read another post that said this was the responsibility of the app developer to make that possible. Why they would make it possible for Android and not iOS?
I have read numerous threads but have not been able to get clear answers to these questions. I'm on the fence about picking up the N1,
1. Does the mail client allow you to create an icon for a specific email account on the main screen? I'm looking for something similar to my Blackberry where I have icons for each of the email accounts that the phone is monitoring. I don't care for the iphone where you have to click through the email client to bring up a different email account.
2.How is the media player?I hope to replace my ipod touch with the N1.I mostly listen to long MP3s of radio shows and have to frequently use my finger to FFW 10 or so minutes within a file that is 6 hours long. I finally got used to doing this on the touch, and I am hoping that the interface on the N1 would also allow such fine skipping within such a large file.
3.Is it any good for playing movies?
4.Does the email client let you specify an email check period? The smallest period on the iphone is 15 minutes, but I would like to enter a smaller value to help ease the transition from Blackberry push email if I were to make the switch to the N1.
I upgraded from an unlocked E71 (to use on T-Mobile) to an E73 Mode to get 3G. With MfE on E71, I was able to search company directory within a new email form. I don't have Company Directory in MfE on the E73 Mode and wanted to download it from Ovi, but Ovi keeps saying MfE is not supported on E73. I think Nokia should update their site because the MfE client is embedded. IN any case, does anyone know where the Company Directory component can be downloaded for E73?
I have updated to the latest version of maemo and installed a few apps and added some music. When I clicked on the Ovi maps icon on the front screen, it never exited from the "Looking for GPS" message, so I exited via X.After, all my files (music, docs) and subdirectories were gone, and the entire file structure visible via File Manager in PC-Suite was only the folder "cities" with some subfolders in it.I would like to add music, etc. back in without having to drastically re-install the OS or something. I did not yet back it up.Can anyone give a screen shot of the directory structure visible in PC-suite File Manager so that I can reconstruct it?
I have been trying to backup (Applications>Office>FileManager>Backup) my N97 mini since I got it due to the large number of hard resets being reported. have set it up to backup every Monday, but the problem is when Monday comes around it says there isn't enough space where i'm trying to backup to (it is automatically set to c: drive) I mean I have barely installed anything on to the c: drive, but I knew this would never be big enough for it anyway, but there isn't a way to change the directory. Whats more is when I try and do a manual back up it asks me if I want to use the f: drive but I don't have a memory card in it so that won't work either. Does anyone know if it is possible to change it to save the backup to the e: Mass Memory drive (which has nearly 7GB free if you're wondering)
I installed some sofware in E drive (memory card) with some sound files (an IM program). The Music Player managed to find them and added them to the library. But those files are really nudge sounds and not musics. So I really prefer it not searching directories other than the one I set to search. I would like to set it to only search "Music" folder if I could.
Recenty i noticed incoming call, outgoing calls & miss call are not listed in the directory history , this came after i tried to update my phone through inetrnet but version update failed.
This is probably a n00b question, but is there any way to assign a specific ringtone to a specific contact? I just switched from an LG Lotus, where I was able to give each contact a specific ringtone. I'd love to be able to do that with my Style..
On my HTC EVO I could set notification sounds by application. For text messages I had one tone but none for email. On the Photon I have the same tone setup for text messages coming in through Handcent but it also plays for email coming into the native email client which I do not want. Is there anyway to ether turn it off or select a different ring tone for emails?
Also what is the over/under for Motorola getting tired of hearing "I could do it on my HTC..."
is it possible to add a folder to player's playlist? I mean, not select from list of artists or albums but just add a whole folder from my memory card? If there is no such thing in the player, may be there is a third party player application which can do that?
I have 5 blank playlist in the media player. I have created those in the ovi suite and sync them to phone. Later I am not able to delete them. I can create other playlists and delete them, but not these five. I can even rename them.I have tried the followings -1. format memory card.2. hard reset the phone3. create 5 playlists with same name in ovi suite, sync then and then try to delete them.
I'm waiting for this since about 3 years on Symbian.I'm able to create a music playlist but what about video?I can create *.m3u playlist of let's say *.mp4 files which is recognized by i.e. real player. Then I can copy it to my Video folder. However when I run it on my n8 the music player starts and plays audio only. How can I do this to force full video playback by video not music player?I think there is no way to do this right now. But I hope someone from Nokia will read this and will push it further. I think it's not hard or expensive to implement it in the future software release and it will add another great "PC-like" feature.
I have succesfully transferred the mp3 files to the memory card, but after I chose "Refresh Library", it keep searching and can't update the song to the playlist.
I installed the new 2.2.0.241 nokia ovi suite. Is it still possible to import your windows mediaplayer playlists to nokia ovi suite so you can sync your whole playlist (in right order) to your nokia? If yes, how do you do this? if no, what's the easiest way to get my playlist from windows mediaplayer in my nokia?
Because it's a LOT of work to make a new one in ovi suite.
Could someone tell me how to save the Playlist's created in the Music Player of a Nokia 5800 to a PC ? Every time I have to format my phone (apparently something goes wrong all the times), lose the playlists n its a headache having to search n add all the songs to a playlist, especially wen there are over 24 hours of music.
I tried Ovi Player but it scans the phone n says tht there are no playlists in the phone whereas I have created about 7 playlists in my music player. My Msic folders would not change in my memory card so saving n restoring these playlist would save me loads of time by not having to create them over n over again.
My Software version is v 40.0.005 Custom version - 40.0.005.C04.01
