Mar 31, 2010i have an e52, if i download fring - will i be able to have free video calls?I do have an unlimited data plan too.

I used it as a means to log on to my company Skype account and chat with my colleagues - or log in to my private account and chat with my friends. Yesterday I looked and I couldnīt find Skype anymore, only MSN, GoogleTalk, ICQ and those, no Skype.Is that just a temporary issue that might be solved by upgrading or has Skype stopped collaboration with Fring or something?

I've tried to download from the link obtained by signing up in their site. The name of this set isn't there either. I've downloaded all the files,one by one, listed there corresponding to various nokia model and when I tried to install, I got the error message "File format not supported".Is there any compatible handsets available so that I can download the softwares listed for it?
The same is the case when I tried to download the "SBI freedom" software for mobile banking. ([url]http://mobile.prepaidsbi.com/sbidownloader/downloadapp.jsp#none[/url]). I've even tried their GENERIC VERSION with no luck.

Feb 5, 2011I just recently bought a C6-01 to replace my old E66. I installed skype and fring from Ovi Store. Voice calls from skype and fring are not working at all. Skype voice calls are displaying "skype call failed" while fring voice calls are hanging the phone totally. Chat sessions from skype and fring are working though. I tried re-installing it from skype and fring websites but still has the same problem. Re-installed it again from Ovi Store and still with the same problems. I checked if there is any available software update on the C6-01 online but none available.
This must be a Nokia problem as it happens both on Skype and Fring applications. I have been using these 2 applications on my other S60 Nokia phones and it works ok. Nokia's software quality on newly released models seem to be deteriorating. This is truly a bad reputation on Nokia considering all logged problems/issues in this forum. It is just a matter of one person posting all these on Facebook. I wonder if Nokia intends to compete with iPhones and Samsung smart phones. Not to mention that Android phones are becoming to be popular now. I hope Nokia will fix these problems quickly or these will definitely affect their sales.

If the 3G icon and the wireless icon are both shown, how do I know which I'm actually using and if I'm being charged for the call - in other words how can I know for sure that all I'm doing is using the local wifi rather than dialling out, or visa versa? Jul 16, 2010Never had problems with Nokia in the past, and after happily purchasing a Nokia X6-00 16GB in the month of March of this year, my thoughts on Nokia only reinforced WHY i've always gone with Nokia.
Now, i purchased the phone when i was living in England, i moved back to Cyprus in April shortly after the purchase and got the phone unlocked, put in a Cypriot Sim card with CytaMobile. Everything was just great.
This past month as been slightly less of a joy though, out of no fault of my own, the phone seems to stop recieving and making calls, all calls get diverted to my answer phone, and to solve this problem i have had to turn the phone off, then back on again. Problem solved.
That was until this morning. I can still recieve texts but if someone attempts to call me, they are greeted with a 'beep' and then the phone call ends on their end.
For me i am greeted with deadly silence, then a little notification saying 'No Answer'.
I have restarted the phone;
Restored Factory Settings'
Upgraded to the latest firmware it will let me, being v20;
Still no luck, i am hoping it is not an internal problem with the phone, as in Cyprus as far as 'Offical' nokia care points are non-existant. The SIM card is on a contract, so if my phone had been cut off, so would my messaging and my internet which are all still in-use, and work just fine without problems.
On another note, if you are unable to find a cause for that problem, maybe you can give me a quick reasoning on why the phone shuts itself off when i choose the facebook application on occasions. Again only over the past month has this been happening.

I then travelled to France using the Sat Nav and came back to a bill of around Ģ6 for usinng the Sat Nav and have been charged when ever i use it, virgin have told me to contact Nokia as using the Sat Nav i was charged for GPS usuage (pardon my ignorance but does a sat nav not run of GPS), I have finally spoken to somone at Nokai and they are now telling me the free aspect of the Sat Nav is the application and licence and for data transfer via GPS i will be charged for this via virgin.
I am not willing to pay Ģ5 pm for this from virgin as I genuinely belived i bought a phone with a sat nav not some elctronic maps.

Mar 29, 2010Ovi map 3.03 for S60 V3.1 with free navigation has been released on China's Nokia official website..When I select E72 and click on the "download" button, the file name is "nokia_ maps_ 3[1]. 03_ 10wk11_ b04_ s60_ 3.1_ rom_china.NOCS.sis", which is totally different from the file downloaded from Nokia Europe.I successfully installed it in my E71 and it automatically became English UI. I test the navigation for walk or drive, it's completely free of charges. You just need to download the map and voice with map loader.Don't be confused by the file name.It will automatically adapt the language on your phone!!
