View 4 RepliesI wonder if and when the free navigation for the 6700 classic is available? Just Bought his phone and installed the latest OVI Maps. When I want to start navigation I have to buy a license? I bought this phone and there should be free navigation with it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI resently bought a Nokia 6700 classic. Before I tranfer al my date from my other phone, I checked my software version. I was 7.60. I check the newest version and that was 7.90. So I decided to update my phone. I made a backup of my data and started to updat my phone. But the update failled. Every time I tried, I go a white screen with the words "Test Mode".
So i tought: "Maybe it is my problem. So I conneceted the USB cable directly to the main board for my pc. I re-installed al software. But still no succeded update.
Is this possible? These phones are not listed so I'm assuming not, but would like to know it it;s possible
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using the nokia 6700 classic and when I select "recently used" to populate the To: field of a text message I get the same 4 contacts every time. It seems to have stopped updating at some point, because even if I select new recipients from my contacts they do not get added to the "recently used" list. This is sort of a annoying, so I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem or found a solution. I would rather not do a factory reset of the phone if I don't have to.
My firmware is 10.50.
I had the Bluetooth problem before and got new HW (motherboard). Everything was ok for 1 day and then the phone starts to shut down when it at idle. could take 1-2 hours before it just decides to shut down. it seems very ramdom. first few times it started again but suddenly I had to take out the battery...wait a while and then start it and today it decided to shut down and I can't start it at all. Had the battery out for 10 min but not any life signs when I try again.
7.90 SW version.
I was wondering if anyone found a way to view pdf and doc files on 6700 classic?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a few days ago a Nokia 6300 classic. Yesterday, while playing with one of the included games (brain something), and everything got stuck (screen mangled, no response from the keys). After some time I removed the battery, but when I reinserted it the screen remained blank, just with the backlight on. No response at all, whatever I type. Is there a key sequence / button to force complete reset?
View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday i started to experience problems with my Nokia 6700 for the first time (it's a a year old). While using the phone it would suddenly freeze and the screen would go black, and then back on. Then today the screen went black, and it never came back on. Now i can't start up the phone. The backlight flashes for a second and it vibrates when i hold the power on/off button, but nothing happens. Tried to remove SIM, memory card and battery already of course. It is dead?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI notice the recent Nokia announcement that navigation is now free on all it's S60 based phones. However, I just purchased a new Nokia 6700 Classic (Which has built in A-GPS, Nokia Maps pre-loaded & full offline Australia maps), but it runs S40 Software. At the moment it appears Nokia still wants to charge me for turn-by-turn voice navigation. It seems a little unfair that the free navigation will only be offered on the S60 handsets when all Nokia have to do is send a free license code to S40 maps users to enable us to do the same.
I'm currently using 'We-Travel' on my Nokia 6700 which is a free 'Offline' GPS application. I'd much prefer to use Nokia's own maps software for navigation, but it's too expensive. Does Nokia have any intention of making the free navigation available on the 6700 classic, or will users of non-S60 handsets still have to pay for this function?
The icon appears at the top and looks like a heart beat line with a backslash through it, but it is not listed in the manual. What does it mean, any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought an unbranded 6700 classic on amazon and I tried to disable internet access completely. So in the first place, there is no option to disable packet data or internet access at all. I can only choose between on demand and always online. I tried to make new hoax profiles with made up usernames and passwords for those data links and access points and set them as defaults but this phone always just connects to the internet by edge after all.
I also can't just delete my provider's access points which seem to be sitting on the sim card or however that works. On sony ericsson devices there is at least some kind of workaround which works by setting the access points to ask for a password before they actually connect but in this phone there doesn't seem to be any option to protect myself to go online by accident.
My calculator has gone from my organiser menu (or ANY MENU for that matter). I have firmware V7.90 (latest, with no newer firmware available from Nokia, and no V7.90 firmware for me to reload it.)
View 11 Replies View RelatedThe phone has been dropped accidentally (from no great height and everything appeared to working fine) but now I've noticed the battery life will barely last 4 hours. Initially I put this problem down to the battery itself but after buying a brand new battery the same thing has started.
The battery will suddenly jump from half full on the indicator to empty, it'll then beep a few times over 5 minutes and then it'll be dead. On average I'm not having to charge the phone three times a day to use it.
I've just bought a Nokia Lumia 800 and I'm trying to transfer my address from my old Nokia 6700 classic to my new phone. When I use the Phone Switch option on my 6700, it says that the service is not supported by the new device. I've tried exporting the contacts on my PC from my 6700 using Nokia Suite, but for some reason the exported .vcf files only include the contact names and not the numbers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to recover the contact details from my son's 6700 classic, whilst being unable to see anything on the phone screen. I would like to connect the phone to Nokia PC suite and select the backup option to copy all the contact details to my PC. Unfortunately he has damaged the screen and nothing at all is showing.
What I would like to know therefore is exactly which buttons need to be pressed on the phone after the USB connector has been inserted to ensure that PC suite is selected; because at present although the phone is recognised by my PC, PC suite is reporting that a phone is not connected. I have successfully copied all Images etc from the phone (memory card?) but the only way I know to get at the contact data is via PC suite, unless of course anyone knows differently.
History: Always Nokia since 1994 including Nokia 2140, 7110e, 6150, 6210, 6310i, 6230i

My Nokia 6700 Classic Screen is broken and I need to copy the contacts from phone to sim. The phone still works. I just cant see what I am doing. Tried the Nokia computer program but I had issues with the USB cable.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've tried to debrand my 6700c by using NSS 1.38.15 and Phoenix 2010.8, but with no success. When I write the new product code, it seems to write successfully, but when I read it back, it goes back to the original Product Code? Has anyone successfully debranded the 6700c? If so, can you tell me how? I've seen some posts elsewhere that suggests that people have been able to do it, but I have no success

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 6700 Classic on O2 and it's been working fine for over a year up until a few days ago when the Facebook application started being a bit problematic. I can load the app up no problem over packet data, 3G, GPRS or whatever available but when I click on the email address box to type my in address, it stays white and nothing appears. Same goes for the password box. I tried a full factory restore and then reinstalling the packet data settings but no change...
View 5 Replies View Relatedi keep getting the Remove cable or connect a device to continue message on my nokia 6700 classic and also when i connect the phone to the computer the only thing there is on the top left near the battery is a icon with like 2 arrows across it. and when i connect my headphones to the phone the message pops up but my headphones dont work and they are brand new as well.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the "message settings' option menu, "e-mail settings" isn't available. I have managed to set up several email accounts by simply going into the 'email" option in the "messaging" menu, but I can't set the phone to check for emails automatically or to notify me of new emails, etc, etc, in other words, I have no menu option, for adjusting the settings for emails. I am running the latest version of the software
version 10.60.
Software update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there.
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back BUT no maps Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognized when inserted!
i have just brought a second hand nokia 6700 classic on vodafone. i have been using it 4 or 5 days and i keep receiving a file called "file.ext". i get it 10 to 15 times a day, i just delete it each time. should i just restore the phone and update it with the lastest softwere?
View 5 Replies View RelatedTried to answer a call & the phone went dead. Tried to charge but it just beeps in cycles. Tried another battery & it's the same. The phone powers on to the Nokia hands but as soon as the time/date screen appears, the keypad can't set it. Then the screen locks after a few seconds & can't be unlocked. Despite the battery being fully charged it displays as near empty. When started without a SIM the OK button works to accept startup

I used PC Suite (latest version) with a bluetooth connection between a Nokia 6310i and a Compaq nx8220 laptop computer. No problem at all. Than I bought a Nokia 6303 Classic and tried to connect to the laptop. The PC Suite software does not recognize the 6303. The same problem with OVI Suite, which works with the 6310i. The Nokia 6303 connects with my Nokia 610 Car Kit, without any problem. I re-installed the PC Suite Software without any result. When I replace the 6303 with the 6310i again, than it works OK.

The problem is that I cant use my phone as an internet modem via bluetooth with Microsoft bluetooth stack (everything else works). I tried the BlueSoleil 6.4.299.0 driver and it works fine but I do not want to pay extra 19.95 euros for the driver.
Would someone please tell me whether (& how) I can change my web "home page" on a 6700 Classic
