It has proved impossible to access the maps and despite e.mails and phone calls to Nokia, Carphone Warehouse, and Talk Mobile, no one is able to resolve this problem, or reply to e.mails.I have also spent nearly four hours, in two visits to a branch of Carphone Warehouse, and despite the best efforts of the staff, no one can come up with a solution. Every time I try to connect, I receive " connection failed, please try later," no maps, nothing but empty screens.It would appear that it is impossible for this phone to achieve "what it says on the box."

Aug 23, 2010I have recently acquiredthe 5230 and cannot access the virtual keyboard from the keyboard icon in messaging I only get the handwriting /alphanumeric option to choose when the keyboard icon is touched. I don't to have a "text input" option in "settings" as I have seen this suggested in other answers to keyboard problems but these were for differnt phones.Appreciate any advice.

Apr 24, 2010I have a Nokia 5230 with software version 20.0.005 and I am running Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1 on Vista 64 bit.I connect either by bluetooth or USB. With this it is possible to synchronize messages, music and pictures. However, when synchronizing the calender or contacts with bluetooth Ovi Suite simply crashes.When synchronizing with the USB cable it gives either the message: "Sync Canceled Could not sync contacts. Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth. Then sync again. Error code: 80043c93" When synchronizing the calender it gives the message: "Sync Canceled Could not sync calender items and tasks. Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth. Then sync again."I have configered Ovi Suite to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook.Do you have any solution to this problem.

Aug 6, 2010I have the latest version of OVI on my PC which I use to SYNC CONTACTS. Problem is it DUPLICATES the contacts on my NOKIA 5230 even if I DELETE all the contacts listed on the PC OVI list. My understanding of SYNCing is that the PC and the NOKIA should have the same information. Either the SYNC is not working or there is a setting somewhere that needs to be changed? MY NOKIA is showing over 500 contacts when it should be half. Manual deletions to remove all the duplicates is a long job and the SYNC process always returns it back to over 500.I have set my NIKA to save all contact to the Phone Memory (not the SIM). Any ideas of to avoid and remove the DUPLICATES.

Jun 16, 2010Back again with more probelms, i seem to have taken a step back by installing Ovi maps and now get the error 2148532241 reported when trying to sync.Using vista home edition and the latest version of PC suite.I had problems with Ovi suite so only installed it for the maps then uninstalled to revert back to the PC suite which previously was working sort of ok.I can still access contacts and meesages no problem but no sync - any ideas?as much as i love the phone E72 it's going back if this is an indication of things to come.

May 16, 2010I have put my sim card containing all my contact numbers into my 6700 slide. However, I can't seem to access the numbers now. When I go to Menu > contacts, under the 'Phone' contacts I have nothing, and yet when I change to 'Contacts' it changes to the 'Ovi' menu. I can't remember how to get back to the menu to chose Sim contacts. For some reason, I can't seem to copy over my SIM contact to my phone, I've been through every menu and there's nothing. I've even taken the sim out and put it back into my old phone and all the numbers are showing but I just can't seem to access them at all when putting back into my new nokia. I"m worried that I'm going to have to write them all out and recreate them all manually, surely there's a better way than this?

Oct 27, 2011I upgraded my N8 to Anna. Could not do the 1/2, everything else worked fine. Finally got the 1/2 to work, ever since had nothing but problems. Whenever I start the phone I get 3 or 4 system error messages. After hitting ok, I can access most of my phone. I cannot access my contacts from the home screen. I can only go into the call screen, which does not allow me to add a new contact or edit. I have tried both the hard and soft reboots and tried to re-install but it has only gotten worse. I kinda need to access my contacts for work.
