I can not shut off or do anything. it gets real hot and i have to wait till the battery goes dead in order for it to shut off. View 3 Replies View RelatedAs tablet wars have inevitably emerged and one is compared against another; I have to wonder --how much utility is the tablet getting from those who purchase them. Personally, I've been using it to watch streaming TV to which I don't have over cable, listen to local police & emergency scanners, listen to music from the 'cloud', play a few rounds of "Angry Birds" as well as streaming with "Live Radio". I've actually used the Google Navigator once and it's been very useful when finding a final destination.I don't know if I'm using the device to the "best" of its ability, if not, what else can one do with it? I've recently seen some hardware and software that turns an iPad into an O-scope, are there projects out there fot the Android market following the same lead?
View 15 Replies View RelatedAs soon as I start it up to set everything up, the stock launcher force closes. The tablet automatically reboots. Back to the set up screen, another stock launcher force close.I finally get into the home screen and do a data reset. I get back to installing everything I had on my previous xoom and just out of curiousity I ran a linpack. The score comes back at 35 which is pretty normal for a stock xoom.A good 30 minutes later, after doing the normal. Setting up my home screen, browsing, etc, I am noticing a very significant slow-down of the response I'm getting on the xoom. I run another linpack and I have dropped 9 Mflops.
So, did I get another defective unit, or is there something I can do to fix this? Best Buy has no more xoom 3's to replace with this one, so if I have to return it, I will be stuck without a xoom. [removed, considering I have a data plan. Motorola won't replace it, they will only offer to repair it. So, send away my xoom for 6 days and not even for LTE, just to be repaired.I'm pretty stuck on what to do next. I really like the xoom, but I'm not going to keep it if it can't perform.
So i have on my phone the Sirius XM app cause I listen to Howard Stern all the time...I got the XFE wifi with 3.1 market (which is limited I know). But has anyone been able to download the siriusxm app on a tablet? When I search the market I can't find it...

1) Enabling USB debugging mode
2) Downloading motohelp drivers from your site the latest one.
3) Switch my tablet on and off and on
4) Restart my machine couple of times.
5) Tried on all the available USB slots on my laptop.
6) Updating drivers via Device Manager ->Update driver.
7) Followed all other solutions which are mentioned on forums and internet. It worked on my Win 7 64 bit in my office but not even getting detected on my IBM T461 Win 7 32 bit laptop.I used USB cable ofmy HTC desire smart phone both times.

Also, the serial number selection is not clear since 3G users seem to use the MEID, but I've been asked for my Wifi MAC address before. This time I tried to simply enter my "serial number" as stated in the Xoom status screen. But I can't get past #1 issue above, it is trying to require me to enter a Moto phone as well.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter running an update I found that a new app had been install called Citrix Receiver. I have looked at what this app does, as well as doing multiple google searched for information about it and it is definately something that I will never be using. As such I tried to uninstall it but there does not appear to be any way to do so. I have approached Citrix with this issue, they refered me to my service provider who then refered me to here The other part of the problem with it is that it keeps identifying that there is an update available for the app, which I have not downloaded, and whenever I try to update other apps that I use on a daily basis, skipping the update to Citrix Receiver seems to make the updates to the other apps get skipped as well.Mototola Xoom Tablet Model Number MZ601, running Android Version 3.2, Citrix Receiver App version 2.1

View 5 Replies View RelatedWith recent changes in the market for Android tablets, it appears there is speculation that Intel may be positioning tablets based on the Atom processor. While Honeycomb has not been fully adapted to the Atom, Intel demoed an Atom driven Android tablet in Bejing this week. Here is some of the article's key content:"So, with tablets based on chips from companies like Nvidia (Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab) and Texas Instruments (PlayBook) not likely flying off the shelf, are Intel's chances any better now? "The door to this market is open. The longer it takes for these other products to get rolling, the more opportunity there is for Intel," said Richard Shim, an analyst at DisplaySearch.
And others see an opening for the world's largest chipmaker. "Though Apple has set the bar, it's not going to be alone in this space. Right now it looks like Android will have the majority of tablet sales(outside of Apple), and Intel has a dedicated team of people to make Android work the best it can on its Atom chips. They have a lot of resources they can apply," said Jack Gold of consulting firm J.Gold Associates, who wrote about this yesterday. And Intel, despite its unimpressive start, has another advantage. Atom is not just another cookie-cutter design from U.K.-based ARM. Intel can bring to bear all of its manufacturing, security, and media processing know-how, according to Gold, who believes it will continue to whittle away successfully at the inherent power-efficiency advantage of ARM chips. "My take is that Intel can capture 20 to 25 percent of that remaining market outside of Apple."
Shim has a few words of caution, however. "It all depends, of course, how well Honeycomb (Android 3.0) runs on Atom," said Shim. "That's a big if." And Shim also warns Intel not to put too many eggs in the MeeGo basket, which is a hard sell to developers in a field crowded with Hewlett-Packard's WebOS and RIM's QNX, in addition to Android." url...What do you think about the possibility of Intel Atom competing with the Tegra 2 processor for Android tablet marketshare? If Google has to support mutliple tablet processors with Honeycomb and eventually Ice cream, will that create more bottlenecks or opportunities and options?
I have a XOOM FE and am using Motoprint Host Service in an attempt to print to my Brother MFC-490CW. I'm running Vista 64bit on my PC, and the Host Service is running. However, Motoprint on my Xoom FE can't see my PC host. Is there something I need to configure on my PC? My PC is connected to my wireless router via wi-fi and my printer is USB cabled to the PC. As FYI, I can see my PC's shared folders from my laptop and can also see my Brother printer via the "Find Printer" function in Motoprint (but of course can't connect to it directly as it's not compatible with Motoprint). I can also print to the Brother printer via Brother's Android wi-fi app, but Motoprint can print more document types, so I'd really like to get it to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Froyo on the DEFY. The issue is that the phone freezes while charging. The screen and the softkeys are inactive whereas the power button still functions correctly. It automatically opens/touches whatever is at the middle of the screen. I tried charging with a blackberry charger, and faced the same problem. But when I tried my brother's Samsung charger it worked just fine. And these were at different power outlets. So is it an issue with the charging unit?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the Xoom set to automatic date/time. I turn on Airplane mode (with WiFi on) to conserve battery. Runs most of the day at the office OK. I think it is OK at home as well. Plug it in to charge overnight (Xoom still on). Wake up in the morning and the time is all wrong.
I then turn Airplane mode off. The Xoom connects to 3G and sets the clock again.
Can't figure out why the clock (once automatically set to the right time), would change after a period of time.
Is there a way to change the clock widget in ICS so it is easier to see on the wallpaper?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI love the bedside mode of the Storm 2, especially with the dock I recently purchased. The only problem is, I like the room dark as possible and even with the phone in bedside mode when charging, and the setting check to dim the clock, it's still far to bright.
Is there a way of having clock on, but have the screen go off with the usual setting to black the screen after say 30 seconds or whatever I choose for the backlighting time out, then have the screen come on if I reach over and touch the screen to display the clock, then letting the backlighting go off again after the preset time?
This would make the setup perfect for me, allowing me to use the Storm 2 as a bedside clock without having to have the display on all the time, but being able to turn it on for a short period of time as needed. If this is possible, can somebody post the settings needed
I recently noticed that my Torch 9800 (OS 6 bundle 695) screen goes blank and becomes inactive during calls. I assumed this was as a result of mistakenly clicking "clear who is it blinking" on the home screen menu, however, I've since been unable to re-enable it.Consequently, whenever I either make a call or pick up an incoming call, the screen goes blank and becomes inactive. Also when I have an incoming call waiting, I'ld hear the beeps but won't be able to see who is calling. In summary, whenever I'm on a call, I'm unable to see or do anything else with my phone until the call is over.
