Motorola Bravo :: Install A Fresh Version Of Android?
May 26, 2011
I updated my Bravo to Froyo a month ago, while updating I recieved an error message (which I can't remember), since then the phone regurarly freeze and I always recieve a notification from the task manager saying that my CPU usage is 100%.....I tried hard resetting the phone several times but that was of no use.
I have a Atrix Gingerbread phone and before I updated it was rooted. When updated it broke the root and left residual programs from rooting on my phone. Is there a way to do a complete fresh install of Gingerbread on my phone. I am not talking about a hard factory reset. I want to wipe it completely then reinstall it.
One of my 'Apps' appears to be corrupted. If I delete it, it is only uninstalled and as a result the same corrupted version is re-installed.Can I actually delete the application enabling me to install a fresh uncorrupted version?
Just recently my pc began having a problem recognizing my Bravo as a phone. Until then everything was fine. Now when I plug my Bravo into a USB port, I hear a chime, but no window opens. When I go to My Computer, the phone is shown as Removeable Disk (X:).When I double click on it, a small window opens with this message: "Insert Disk. Please insert a disk into drive X:." Under properties, it appears as Motorola MB520 USB Device, a disk drive. After plenty of research, I have tried changing the assigned letter of the drive twice.Every other USB device I own works just fine on my PC. The only way I can access the phone on my PC is to turn off the pc, connect the phone, power on the pc, and then the phone appears as a phone. When I connect the phone to another pc, the phone appears as it should. Some research shows this problem may be related to Acronis on my pc, but another pc with Acronis on it can recognize my phone. Could this be the result of disconnecting the phone without "preparing" the disconnect?
setting up a Bravo MB520 to work correctly with Consumer Cellular Service. Which fields have to be set up to make the Data work? Is there a good guide to explain all the software in setup for instance? Or how do I get an unlock code to get the phone away from other networks?
I have been reading a lot of posts on here and all the problems experienced with the Defy and different versions of Android that I am just wondering what really is the best version to use on the Defy that has the least problems?I have seen posts saying that 2.2 is buggy but not as buggy as 2.1. But now I have recently seen a post where the OP is wanting to downgrade from 2.2 I believe back down to 2.1 due to problems. What exactly is the issue, is it the operating system (software) or the actual phone itself (hardware)? Do these different versions of Android work any better on other phones like HTC, Samsung, etc or are there just as many bugs/hangs/freezes?For now I think I'm sticking with 2.1. I like my Defy but I'm not convinced I should buy a Motorola product again unless the Google takeover drastically improves their customer services and product support, especially after-sales.
After I updated the software, my phone will randomly restart itself. It will go to a black screen, then reboot on its own. I have tried two refurb phones from ATT and a new battery, and it still does it. I even got a new SD card, thinking that maybe it was a memory issue. Still restarting. Is there a solution (besides just buying a new phone)?
Since the upgrade to ver. 4.1.83, the calendar widget on the home screen just shows 31 and says calendar. It used to sync w/ google calendar and show the current date and upcoming scheduled events. Is it just me or is this a general issue which get addressed in a future update?
I have downloaded ver 5 desktop manager several times and it is not able to install. I have completely un-uninstalled the previous software and deleted the regristry keys, RIM. After downloading the new version of software (5.01) off of the BB website and extracting the files, it will ask to install in english and then my issue pops up: a windows installer window pops up, with information and no errors. then the installer closes. the installer closes out and will not continue. the desktop manager software will not load and i have tried several different downloads, cleaned installs and i even tried ver 4.6.
My android market is not updating to the latest version i.e. 3.xx stuck on 2.xx. How do I get it self updated instead of using an external apk to install?
I recently upgraded my DroidX Android to Version 2.3.3. My System version is 4.5.605.MB810Verizon,en.US.After the upgrade, my app tray went missing. How do I get this back?
I can't install Android 2.2 to my Milestone, using a computer running XP Pro SP 3. The installer runs for a minute, then shows a notepad file with this:
'check whether the specified hotfix exists in the target computer strComputer = "." Dim HotfixFound :HotfixFound = "" Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _ & "{impersonationLevel=impersonate}! " _
[code]....
The hotfix it refers to is apparently a Vista Windows installer issue. I reinstalled windows installer just in case, and tried removing all Motorola related software from the computer then running the installer again.
I am currently resident in Beijing and just bought a new Atrix. The major problem I have is that China appears to block the installation of Android Market on phones and it is replaced with some crappy alternative which doesn't have many mainstream apps. So my question is, how can I install Android Market on my Atrix? Also - whilst I changed the language settings to English, many of the installed software is still in Chinese - for example maps, and Moto Navi gives instructions in Chinese too. Is it possible to change these too?Gmail etc is blocked too.
Trying to install Android update HTK55D via bluetooth connection with Motorola Photon. Update screen comes up and starts - download button is "greyed out" - but nothing else happens. Have let it go all night with no results... Have rebooted and get same results... Am on the road with no other internet connection available.
I was wondering if it is possible to install the android Spotify app on the MotoActv? Spotify lets you stream unlimited music for free (and be able to download the music for a small price a month). I don't have MP3-files on my computer, but with Spotify on my MotoActv, I could leave my mobile at home.
I'm a recent Android convert so I'm not entirely up to date with version history. Just checked my HTC One phone that's on AT&T and the settings app reports that I'm on version 4.1.2. After Googling around, I see 4.3+ is out there. When I attempt to update the software, it says that my software is up to date.
I Have installed officially the new anroid 4 ICS on my Xperia Pro and many of my games aren't working and just crash and close the moment i pay the game.i want back my old anroid but i know that i can only do this in the service center.I need to know if there's an other way to downgrade my android with rooting or with flashing or anything else .JUST GIVE ME BACK MY ANDROID i agreed to install android 4 because i was thinking it was better and improved but how i see it causes me much more problems ,even if it's more exciting than the old android i don't need it if it doesn't work right.
I have Android 2.1.1.A.0.6 installed on my mobile phone. I would like to update the version. I have tried it with the help of PC Companion, but it is not working. How can I do this?
