I have been trying to set the gmail sync setting. All I can figure out is that the sync is either auto on or off.
The other email accounts have settings for sync frequency and are easy to manage but I cannot find any way to control the frequency of gmail syncing.
Just bought the V10, setup everything that I had on my Note 3, including my Gmail account. Now Gmail does not notify immediately when an email arrives. I've gone into the Google account settings, and do not see anywhere where I can set the frequency of syncs. How to get it to instantly notify me of incoming emails?

Holy cow is thing awesome and the whole android world after leaving Windows and previously iPhone.I have GMail set up thru the GMail app.i have my Outlook.com set up thru the mail app.I can change sync setting with my outlook.com emails (I have 2). View 10 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that since my latest upgrade on my AT&T Galaxy S5 that my Calendar was not automatically syncing. I did find how to turn the syncing back on and how to choose what Google function to sync or not, but I have not found anywhere on the phone where I can adjust how often the syncing should take place. Like most people I would prefer to have this happen with some sort of time frequency so as to not use up too much of my data.

Used to be able to rely on mobile for alerts re important emails if away from computer and be able to get immediate updates as soon as turning back on after meetings etc. Is there any way around this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

Sending a message as following:Your gmail email messages are not being delivered to your BlackBerry® device. To receive your email messages, turn on the IMAP setting for All Mail in your murat account. After you turn on the IMAP setting for All Mail, you must validate your account on your BlackBerry device. 1. Click the Setup folder (if available), then click the Email Settings or Setup Internet Email* icon. 2. Click Email Accounts. 3. Validate your murat email account. The other email accounts on your BlackBerry device are not affected.
Problem is that the IMAP setttings for this account is ok. I also have another gmail account with the same settings and that is functioning very well. I also have Mail receiving programs on my computer which are receiving well all the mail via IMAP settings. So the problem is not the a settings problem but a blackberry's receiving problem.I tried validate the email address by writing my password, it validates but immediatly I receive a new message same as above. I also tried:
- cancelling and re-adding the gmail account (via internet site and also via phone)
- changing the password an retry validating
- cancelling service books
- formatting the blackberry and reinstallling the software
but none of these methods worked, everytime I received the same error message, whatever I tried to do.I called my operator, he couldn't resolve neither the problem, I even gave him my gmail account password to him so he can validate it in their servers, or so he can check my gmail settings, but everything looks normal.

It's wonderful that dictation recognizes these words.But when dictation doesn't use the desired spelling then remedial editing is required.For example, 'Alison', 'Allison', and 'Alyson' are all correct spellings for a name. Unfortunately, dictation uses 'Allison' but I need 'Alison'.Is there any way to train/specify the spelling of words that dictation recognizes but spells differently than is needed?

From where I am connecting I can use a screen and WiFi, USB keyboard and mouse and Aukey 7-Port USB 3.0 (powered usb hub found here)
What is the best way to setup this for a confortable environment? I have to stay few hours using the phones teamviewer and do stuff in the remote PC.
Few ideas I have:
- Using Samsung EDD-S20E (samsung dock with HDMI output, but might not work due to incompatibility) or similar dock
- Chromecast 2 (miracast or any other)
- DeLock 65468, slimport micro usb to HDMI.
The problem is that I need phone to be charging during teamviewer since it drains a lot of battery, and also few usb ports for keyboard + mouse + storage, I've been thinking of the next:
-usb hub + OTG in the phone.
-chromecast 2
-wireless charging the phone while use, since I cant charge it while OTG I think.
Is there a better alternative to this?
IPhone 4 running 4.0.1. Happened on 4.0 as well. This is the second time this has happened. Look at the center email...anything look funny? It won't let me delete and eventually changes to a date in the year 2000 then randomly will go away. It just shows up on it's own. Email setup with default gmail account settings.

I was listening to the giantbombcast using the pocketcasts app, and I about 15 minutes in the volume automatically goes down. I turn it back up, and it goes down again, automatically... right away. As soon as I push the volume bar to the right, it swings back to the left. Then, "Ok Google" pops up. It says "say Ok Google" or tap mic". The volume then goes up, then down, then up, then down uncontrollably. Then it stops, and I'm just looking at the Ok Google screen. When I press back to go to the pocketcasts, all of this happens again after 30 seconds. I don't know what is going on here.

I don't like how the song you're playing shows up as a notification instead of having a full screen player widget like iPhones. Is there any way to get this show it shows full screen album artwork as well as volume controls with music apps such as the default music player or Spotify. I love a lot of things about it except e-mail handling.I am having to manually delete mails already deleted from my laptop. My Torch is not reconciling my Gmail automatically; in fact, when I go to the BB menu in e-mail to manually reconcile by selecting that command, it still doesn't work.The above wouldn't bother me quite so badly if I didn't have to delete them (again) one at a time. I'm sure there must be a way to select multiple e-mails from my Inbox to delete en masse, but I haven't hit upon it yet.

how I can now sync the calendar on my BB with my gmail calendar
For the past two or three day my X10a (2.1) had continually been trying to sync to my Gmail account. I can turn auto-sync or the data off to make it stop, but once turned back out it starts up again. I have deleted most of my newer mail in case there was something bad included with the mail. Not sure what my next step would be. With the phone trying to sync all the time make it slow to respond to commands.
View 7 Replies View Relatedso I've got the google calendar sync set up on the x10 and gotten it verified by the gmail mobile set up.. and the syncing works both ways for future events.. for some reason no past events on the gmail calendar syncs with the x10 calendar..although any events set up in the past on the x10 calendar updates the gmail calendar fine.. does anyone know if this is a "feature" or do I have to set up some personal settings differently? although for the life of me I can't find any settings on the x10 calendar that specifies the length of time the sync should work for!I know this is not a huge issue but I have had to restore from backups cos of various problems with my x10, so everytime I'm having to manually create the past calendar entries (which I use as tracking meaures for various projects I'm working on) on the phone by looking @ the gmail calendar.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI moved from iPhone to HTC One (on VZW) recently and I am having a hard time figuring out the syncing process on Android phones, esp HTC One I have. I have a gmail account and a lot of contacts are there, but there are some that were only on my iPhone so I imported all my iPhone ones to the HTC One.
I consider myself a power user. Please do not refer to older apps (like Contacts, its really People app now in JB). Also, I have lost about 60 contacts recently while trying to figure out the process.
I think it would be useful if I ask few specific questions:
1. Are gmail contacts the master contacts for syncing purposes? If yes, what is the role of Google+?
2. If I'd like all my contacts to be always backed up and in sync with Gmail contacts, does it really make sense to have local phone contact? Somebody I met recently showed me that he adds all his contacts directly to Google from the phone (HTC One), so I was wondering if keeping local phone contact is really necessary. Mention any scenarios in which local phone contacts would be appropriate.
3. How does the relationship between phone contact and my google contact (gmail, that is) work in terms of addition, update and delete? When I erased all my contacts on phone, it ended up erasing my contacts from gmail when I tried to sync contacts.
4. In HTC One People app, when you add a contact, it defaults to "Phone". Is there a way to change that default to "Google account"? I saw on someone's phone and they could not explain how that was configured.
My wife and I both have iphones and ipads and macs.In the past 2 weeks her gmail has become a problem only on the iphone.It keeps asking for username and password.I hit the threads and saw a "verification" link that worked for some.I followed instructions to log out of all gmail accounts on all devices, then went to her iphone and did the verification.It works for about 10 hours (sometimes more, sometimes less) and then we get the message again. All the while her ipad and mac are fine.I've compared my settings to her settings on the iphone and we are identical on major items.

I am having issues with BIS Gmail e-mail two way sync. Contacts and calendar are fine. I have deleted the account & re-added upgraded the device firmware but to no avail. I can delete e-mails off the BlackBerry and read them and this is reflected on the Mailbox (webmail gmail). BUT If I read or delete an e-mail on the webmail, it DOES NOT reflect on the BlackBerry.
