Motorola Droid X2 :: Interesting Results With Launcher Pro
Oct 22, 2011I had to make a quick post on an odd (to me, at least) experience with my DX2.First of all, since 2.3.4, my phone's operation and stability has been greatly improved; however, transitions between homescreens was still a little rough. Not unusable, but noticeable. Then I saw a post somewhere on this site where the user mentioned that homescreen transitions improved when he installed launcher pro. I had used LP on my former Droid-based phone, but had never bothered to reinstall it when I upgraded. Frankly, I've enjoyed using the Moto UI and learning how to do things the "Droid way" instead of the "LP way." But I've been very pleasantly surprised at how much installing LP has improved my overall UI experience. It's silky smooth, and I swear my live wallpaper is running more smoothly and responsively as well.

Jun 5, 2010I was hoping we could setup this little thread to fill each other in on tips and tricks that aren't covered in the manual. For example, when I have my alarm set and set on alarm only for ringer, the alarm is so freaking loud it gives me a heart attack in the morning. Is there any way to turn it down before I set it? Since the ringer is set for alarm only I can not control the volume that way. Just wondering if there was a way to make it softer. Also, when its powered on and charging is there any way to get rid of the annoying little beep when it becomes fully charged? Hearing that at 2AM isn't fun. Again, I have the phone set to Alarm only and it still does that.

Jun 26, 2010This was shot and edited in 720p entirely on an iPhone 4 using iMovie. I received my iPhone 4 in the mail a day early and my friend didn't want to go wait for his alone, so I decide to go along and document the entire event with my new iPhone's HD camera. (Some of those in line were noticeably annoyed at my use of the new phone while they waited, but I tried to conceal it as much as possible). We got to the Santa Barbara State Street Apple Store around 5:30am and were about 25th in the reservation line. I had a ton of fun, and am so glad I went, Apple really knows how to release a product, maybe next time I'll just reserve it rather than get it shipped. EDIT: So I learned some tricks while editing that I thought I should share those for others playing around with iMovie
I typically work within Final Cut Pro when editing video, so going into iMovie I was met with several limitations, but I figured out a few workarounds for most of the issues I faced: Titles remain over an entire clip, so if you want titles just to appear at the beginning of a clip, (Like seen at the very beginning of my video) you must trim the end of a clip to the length you wish. Then import that same clip again, and trim the beginning to the length of your first clip. Make sure you remove the crossfade as well......
LG :: Neon Shuts Off By Itself
Jan 9, 2010For some reason, my phone will shut itself off without me touching the power button. It doesn't even do the power down thing, it just turns off abruptly, as if the battery was taken out, (even though it wasn't), even with a fully charged battery.it's getting annoying... it does this 3-4 times a day

Feb 13, 2010I picked up an LG Neon from a friend a ways back, and after using it for a couple days, I got sick of not being able to hear the other person so I went back to my old phone. However, I'm a modder by nature, so I started looking at what I could do with this thing.Here's what I was thinking, please tell me what you think.
I want to remove the circuit board so that I could put my own custom curcuit board in it. I thought if I can pull the battery pack (or even keep it... idk) and remove the circuitry, I could then load up an MP3 player in it, and put in a normal headphone jack. I've already removed the built-in speaker, but I want to keep it so that it looks like a phone. Or would I be better served to just grab a spare SD card and load all my music on that? I don't need it to be able to make calls (not even emergency, I have a normal phone for that) which is why I was thinking of pulling out the circuit board. What do you guys think?Is this a doable project, or am I just wasting my time?

May 3, 2010I have ATT version of the NEON and I would like it to automatically lock and thus require a security code to dial out or look at my text messages, etc. etc.So for example I would like for it to require a security code everytime I unlock the automatic key lock. (the key lock doesn't require a code just have to open it or hit the yes button). You can set the phone to require the security code (default is 0000) when you power up the phone, or when a new Sim Card is put in or immediately.
Immediately would be ok if it stayed on but the immediately option only works once.So short of going through the menus and setting it immediately each time or powering the phone off and then back on Does anyone know a way to do a lock on the Neon? Don't most phones have a lock feature?

Sep 20, 2011I read on Skype's website that Tegra 2 devices such as the Atrix can't do video calling because the chipset doesn't have NEON technology support. Is this something that can be changed with a software update, or is this something that Tegra 2 devices will never be able to have?
