IPhone :: Turning Off Notifications At Night Except Ringer
Jun 19, 2012
I want to turn off notifications except the ringer....I could do it on my droid....so far loving the iphone but don't like silencing EVERYTHING at night.
Every time i use the left side volume button, or sound settings cog, and try to set my phone to vibrate, the ringer goes to vibrate, but the notifications automatically ho to silent. I want to set BOTH ringer and notifications to to vibrate.
I just spent an hour and a half talking with support through chat and level 2 support through Motorola's call center. The most recent update mentions that you've "Added Support to control Notification Volume along with Ringer Volume". I had assumed that this had fixed my problem that I had with this application, but was greatly confused when it didn't.I want an action to adjust my Ringer Volume and an action to adjust my Notification Volume. I want them to be separate settings, not combined. I have read multiple threads posted previously in this forum from people complaining that they need to have the volume of their notifications all the way up, or their ringer volume up while they are sleeping for work.As a Systems Administrator I want to be able to sleep at night. I don't want to hear pinging from people emailing me at 4 AM. I work for a company that has associates all over the world, so this happens regularly. I do however NEED to have my ringer volume up in case our equipment has issues at our DC.
I understand that you want to keep the application streamlined and as simple as possible, but it really will not cause confusion to have the same volume sliders that Android has within settings. It does not seem like it would be that difficult to add the 4 volume sliders for Media, Ringtone, Notifications, and Alarms. It would actually make MUCH more sense to users than it does now. (Especially considering I spent an hour and a half on the phone with support over a poorly worded update description)
I just got my iPhone 4S yesterday. I love it! I started to use the reminders app, and I'm having a slight problem with it. I have a reminder set up for tomorrow at 7:30, but it's reminding me now (at 7:30 today) why? Also, it stays in the notification bar. How to I clear it without turning the notifications off?
When I go to bed i want to stop the notifications from appering even illuminating not just silent. Is there a way to stop them but for like only 5 hours or so
I tried turning off push notifications for Facebook, but still kept receiving notices for every stupid little thing. Finally I just deleted the app. On the latest update for the gmail app, it asked if I wanted to receive push notifications. I accidentally hit yes, and immediately began getting plagued with every incoming message. Like before, I went into Notifications and turned everything off for that app. It has no effect.
I tried deleting and reinstalling the app. I tried restarting the iPhone after I changed the settings. I still get the banner ad. I need the gmail app so I can keep that account separate from the apple mail client on the phone, which I use only for work email. I'd just delete the app, but it is a deal breaker for me not to have it. Is there no way to shut notifications off? Do I need to get an Android phone?
My facebook app (not the facebook messenger) keeps turning the notifications off.
i like to keep it turned on for things like new friends requests, tags and comments on my wall.
i am not sure when this happens, because when i turn them on they stay on for the immediate future but after a few days when i fail to be notified by this app i check again to find out they have been turned off again.
I have a Z3 and can'tr find out how to turn the vibration for notifications off. In the settings there is an option for "Also Vibrate for Calls" but nothing about how to turn it off for notifications.
I have a feeling I will be getting to know you all pretty well since all of my questions have no direct answers in any of the literature that came with my unit. For this post, I am wondering how I can filter or turn off the notifications to the email, facebook notifications that seem to come through continuously and at this given point and time confuse the heck out of me. I am only used to reading text messages. Now I have alerts going off for Email, Facebook, Texts and Blackberry messenger.
just picked up an S2 from sprint as a replacement for HTC Evo.Great phone all around, however i`m having one issue. HTC Sense UI has an option to preview messages(2lines) and missed calls right(who and time) on lock screen. This is really handy option with small kids around you dont have to unlock your phone.Since S2 is missing that I've downloaded Notify App which works great. However - I cannot turn off stock notifications - they still show up - so at this time I have to clear notifications twice - once in App and once in Notifications Bar. Is there a way of turning off stock notifications (without custom ROM)? On all other phones i had - there was an option to go to Settings Privacy and uncheck the notifications. This is missing on S2 - all i can see under privacy is Reset to Factory.I really like the phone and how smooth it is. At this point i really dont want to do a custom ROM (`ill root it if need it)
This may or may not be a Turbo-only issue, same qualifier for Lollipop as well. But, it is noticed, so I ask.
When I put an event on the stock Google Calendar, I specifically have my settings to say NO notifications. I look at the event when created and it has NO notifications. Yet 10 minutes before the event like clockwork, boom, notification.
I'm going to go into the desktop version of Calendar and see what I can do there, but this notification stuff is annoying.
It's no big deal, but I put my iPhone to sleep, at 97% battery charge, and I woke up with 80%.is that normal or is it doing stuff during the night that it shouldn't be, or doesn't have to be?I've got everything turned on except Fetch which is set to manual.
Is there a way to have the iPhone set to ring at night without having to turn off all the notifications one by one? Forgive me for bringing the Blackberry into the conversation but it did have an option for phone only, as well as silent, vibrate, vibrate with sound and so on.
i lost my phone last night and wonder if i can track it somehow to see where it is....i dont have the apps used for this so i dont know if there is another way
Is there an app available that will let me turn all message alerts off at a certain time, then turn them back on automatically at a set time the next morning?
my I phone 5 has developed a problem in crashing during the night when it's on charge. It 1st happened Saturday night and my alarm didn't go off so was late for work. The only way I could power up the phone was to hold the power button with the menu and reboot and reset the phone. The phone switched on and was 100% charged so it's charging ok then crashing by the look of it. The phone was ok all of Saturday no problem at all so thought it might of just been a little glitch. On Saturday night I woke up during the night checked my phone to see what time it was and yes the phone was blank again and wouldn't power on as normal so had to do the reset method to power it up again. It was 100% charged so disconnected the charger and the phone stayed on for the rest of the night and alarm went off as normal. I decided to back it up and did a full factory reset on the phone through iTunes. Last night during the night the phone had done exactly the same. I did use the back up to restore the phone back to normal after the factory reset.
Is it harmful for battery to charge it the whole night? I mean should I stop charging when the battery indicator shows 100% or I can leave it on charging?
