Apr 15, 2012My iPhone 4S has been working on and off for as long as I've had it. There are times when I can't make or receive calls or send or receive texts.When I attempt to make a call, it never rings and when I try to end these calls, it doesn't register that the call has ended. People receive these calls but when they answer, there is silence. If people call me, I don't get any notification of this.
When I send texts, the loading bar at the top of the page never reaches the end - the same things happens: people receive the texts but when they reply it never reaches me.I have replaced the phone and it did t make a difference. I am with Vodafone and I'm always in full reception when this happens.When I connect to wifi, the text messages (but not missed calls) come through.

May 30, 2010I am trying to use Nokia Messaging (v10.2.0.4) on a 5800 (v50.0.005). I set up an IMAP mailbox to sync. My subscription with the GSM operator includes the Nokia Messaging service.I can download messages if I tap send/receive, but automatic sync does not work.If I set the sync time to Push Mail, I can see a green ring on the screen. I assume it means there is a live connection. But messages do not arrive.If I set the sync time to 15 minutes, the ring becomes grey and crossed. Every 15 minutes it changes to green and rotates. I assume it means new messages are downloaded. But they are not.
Again, if I tap Send/receive, new messages arrive.I also tried to configure a Gmail mailbox. The situation is the same. Manual send/receive works, automatic sync does not.How could I get automatic sync to work?

May 7, 2012I am able to receive messages but I can not send any. This started while in an area of spotty coverage and continues even when I am back in area with good connection. Does not work to resend, tried power down, sync, turning on and off mms switch. Can not resolve this issue. Could it be the carrier?

Dec 4, 2014Ive been having this problem for a while now. Many times a day i will go to send a text, and when I do the message will not send, the sending bar never complete. When this happens, my message app basically crashes. If i go home and come back, sometimes it will just to a blank message, and when i go back all the message will be cleared. I cant receive messages at this time either. Im forced to restart the phone, and rewrite the text. Once i do sometimes I will start to get the texts I missed, and other times i will come back to the crashed message app that just shows a blank new message, and will have to keep restarting it till it works again. The weird problem is that this happened on my iphone 5 too after I broke the screen. Ive been trying to fix this for a while now with no luck.

Dec 2, 2014I recently discovered that I am not receiving text messages on my iphone 6. I also found out that the text messages I thought that I was sending are not being received by the recipient. I an however successfully sending and receiving iMessages. I purchased the iPhone 6 in August and didn't have any issues sending or receiving texts until about two weeks ago (early November). I have iOS 8.1.1.Â
So far I have tried the following with no results:
-turned phone off and on
-reset network settings
-Removed and reinserted SIM card
-turned imessage off and tried sending texts
-turned on "Send as SMS" in message settingsÂ
None of these troubleshooting efforts have been effective. Something that works?

Aug 30, 2014I just replaced my droid based phone with an iphone 5s. I have MMS turned off to save the amount of data we are using. But now I cannot send or receive group text messages. This is a major issue for me since my kids' sports coaches use this to give us updates...etc.Â
Is there a setting I am missing? I am almost wishing I had stayed with my old phone.

Jun 24, 2010I replaced 3 iphone 3g's with 3 new iphone 4's on my family plan. 2 of them are working just fine. The other one is unable to send or receive texts or mms. Anyone else having this problem? Or anyone that can suggest how to fix this? I wonder if I might have misstyped in the ime or SSID info on the at&t page incorrectly on that one unit. This is a non jail broken phone. Just a regular 3g.
