In settings on my iPhone 5 (iOS7), Usage shows 13/1GB Used (169MB Available). Music makes up 6.6GB of this usage. How can I manage storage so that I don't have this problem?

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 8.1.1 and iTunes 12.0.1. When I updated iTunes recently to the new version, 12.0.1 it unchecked the Manually Manage Music and Videos option on my iPhone's summary page. I just want to re-enable this feature without having to spend the time re-installing all my music and playlists. Is there a way to enable this feature without erasing my music and videos?

I purchased music on itunes on my iphone and the songs won't show up in my music library on the phone. They are on my computer itunes library but it won't let me transfer the purchases back to my phone (which I have never had to do before). Never had this problem before this week when purchasing music on my iphone. My Itunes library on my laptop is slightly different from my Iphone library so I don't want to erase and sync the entire library.

My brothers computer broke. It was a PC. But he had his iPhone synced with it. So now he wants to get the music he lost in that computer to download to his new computer. But the music he purchased is on his iPhone, and the computer wont let him transfer the music from his iPhone, to his new computer. It tells him this music was synced with a different library and won't let him transfer the music.
Does anyone know a work around for this. I know he is using a PC, but I figure, and Apple user, who brakes his Laptop(I'm not talking about crashing, I am talking about actually braking, it was smashed basically), would run into the same problem, your iPhone has Music that was synced with another Library, and it wont let you move the music to the new library. Even though this music was all purchased with the same Apple ID, that doesn't seem to matter. Now, I know that one of the new features of iTunes lets you re-download music you purchased and may have lost, without having to purchase it again. But none of the music from that broken laptop appears in that list of re-downloadable music. All was purchased from iTunes.
I was trying to autofill music from my music under Library to my iPhone. I have done this before, but just tonight it has not worked. The message I get is "iTunes cannot add any songs to the iphone "iPhone" because no songs in your iTunes library could be found.

I am trying to erase all the music from my iPhone and then load a new music library. In iTunes I go to Music > Sync Music > Entire music library, then attempt to Sync. I get the "this will erase all the music on the iPhone" message, I say OK. I then get a dialog "The iPhone cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all the items in the iTunes library....."
The new library is about half the size of the library on the iPhone, so it is obviously not erasing.

View 3 Replies View Related[url] have tried to follow this guide so my iPhone is manually managed music-wise across multiple computers. I set it to that on Mac 1, manually added some music. No problem. Then plug it into Mac 2. iTunes reports the iPhone 'manual manage' checkbox is unticked. If I try to tick it, it prompts me to erase the iPhone and sync with the Mac 2 iTunes.Any tips for why Apple's guide isn't working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI will soon be getting a Retina MBP, and would like to keep my entire music library on an external HD.
When keeping all of my music on an external drive, and leaving none on the rMBP, there comes the issue regarding music management on my iPhone. Presumably, in order to add music to the phone using this system, I would have to make sure that iTunes on the rMBP reads from the iTunes folder/library on the external HD, at which point the music files would become visible in iTunes and I could then add music to the iPhone.

Ok I am trying to figure out the best way to manage the music on my phone. I thought I would be able to copy over a playlist from the computer but that does not seem to be the case, every time I do it no matter what the format is it always ends up being deleted. Now I am actually reading the owners manual and it says this: Tip You can also create and use folders to organize your music inside the Music folder you have created. This would be super easy to create playlists by if I could figure out how to brows the music by folder and then add all the music in that folder to the playlist. Anyways its on page 133 of the manual if you have any questions. So what would be the best way to create playlists of something that is in a folder on the phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a computer program similar to ITunes for the Ipod that would let me manage music.
I want to be able to play audio books on my Blackberry and listen to the whole book in order. I have taken a book on 5 CDs and ripped it to MP3 format. On my hard drive each chapter resides in its own directory and is identified as Track 1, Track 2 etc. Then the next directory is similarly named. When I pull them into my Blackberry all of the Track ones are together and then all of the Track 2's etc. I'm looking for some way to manage this and other books.
The way that comes to mind is to label each track in the first directory with a letter from the title say "J" and then followed by a "1" for disk 1 and then the second disk would all have J2s etc. I can do this if there isn't an easier way.
Second problem is that I have no clue how to create Playlists and copy selected titles to those playlists. Again a program like iTunes makes this pretty easy for the Ipod but I don't suppose iTunes works with the Blackberry. I put just one book on the Blackberry and managed somehow to get all of the chapters into a playlist when I discovered the ordering problem. Assuming we can get around that by renaming starting with the first initial of the book title, I'm not sure how to select the files for a given play list especially for multiple books.
This is my first time here and I'm not even sure what version of the Storm I have. It was one of the first ones with a touch screen and no keyboard. Perhaps I should just use the iPod.
from several months I've a problem with my music player. i can't listen my songs, they don't appear in my music library and when I enter in it - ''General: system error". Instead of song I've got ''qtn_lgal_list_title_..." ..i tried to delete them but i couldn't. I updated software, but the problem doesn't disappear.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems that the Music Library in my iPhone is messed up: some songs do not play, when playing others they jump to a different one, etc.....while others play ok. Everything is ok though in my PC (iTunes) and my iPod. I would like to completely erase the Music Library from my iPhone and sync it back again after.

I am trying to delete the music off my iPhone. I have gone onto my Usage settings and tried to delete them that way, however it says there is no data. I have then plugged it into my PC and again it says no data, however when I go onto my library on the phone itself, it has around 700 songs, all greyed out with either the iCloud symbol or a sign which means they're downloading, however this sign has been there for months now and nothing is yet to download, how do I clear this and start again?!

I have an issue with my music library not updating folder/genre information when I refresh. Songs are present and correct but the folder will not update (i.e. I deleted a song but the number on the folder does not show this change or I removed a specific genre but that genre folder remains)- I have seen this issue with a number of Nokia music player phones and was wondering if anything was ever resolved, There was a workaround for the 5800 (show hidden folders and delete a load of .dat files) but this does not work for my C7 with Belle?
