I know this is probably a really stupid question but this is the last chance to try and locate my gf's iphone which she has just lost in a taxi somewhere in Hong Kong. As she does not have international roaming she had it set on airplane mode so it's not like she can just call it up and find out if it's been handed in Is there anyway to remotely turn off airplane mode?I realise the automatic response might be 'well if she doesn't have a cellular network, how do you think you could sent anything to the phone even if there was a way to do it" but I'm literally grasping at straws here
View 6 Replies View RelatedI switch to airplane mode and hope to turn off all notifications because there is no connectivity to wi-fi or 3G. It turns out I was wrong, I woke up in the middle of the night to the vibration and beep of my iPhone telling my that all of my planes have landed! But do I really need to know this at 2:00 in the morning? I don't think so! I made sure airplane mode was still on and it was but I was still getting notifications just from that one app. I would like to know how to disable this without having to go into notifications settings, pocket planes, etc.

View -1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Moto X 2nd Gen device running Lollipop on Verizon Wireless. If I have my volume for ringer/notifications set to vibrate and then I access Moto Voice (e.g OK Moto X, what is the weather?) for some reason the volume on ringer/notifications is increased to close to 70% of max. I can actually "see" it happen if I press the volume rocker down to vibrate and then initiate a Moto Voice command. (I am talking about the window that shows up at the top of the phone when you change volumes - I can see it change from vibrate to 70% of max).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI love my Atrix HD but one key feature that is missing is the ability to enable and disable LTE mode. By that I do not mean just turning on and off data services. Many other Android phones have the ability to select the radio band that you wish to use. It gives the owner of the product the ability to move down to 3G or Edge service if he or she wishes. As it is now we are all forced into LTE mode.

I tried going onto android/google device manager but the phone seems to have glitched from what I believe is because I put it in ultra power saving mode.
it's possible to disable ultra power saving mode while the phone is still locked.
p.s. I also rooted my phone before I became locked out of it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI accidentally left my phone in my truck yesterday while taking the kids school clothes shopping for about an hour. When I returned, my phone was in "COOL DOWN MODE" (due to the extreme TX heat we are experiencing for the last couple of months). Once it cooled down it seemed to be returned to its once wonderful glory and working just fine.
I drove home (about 1.5 hour drive) and somewhere in that time frame the phone put itself in "SAFE MODE". I have since been unable to disable the "SAFE MODE". I have followed the suggested power off and reboot method and that has done nothing. I have powered off, removed battery and then powered on and that has also produced no positive results. I am looking for another option than FACTORY RESET.
i'm stumped and looking for some help. So my password in enabled on 9700 but I can't disable it. Disable does not show up in scroll menu and all i can do is enter password and change password.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I am having a very strange problem. I have been using the Situations App (formerly Nokia Situations) to automatically put my phone into offline mode, and power saving mode over night. 9pm to 6:30am.Recently the phone as started refusing to leave the offline mode in the morning. Even if I try to change the profile manually it says "Unable to change profile". The only way I can get out of offline mode is to reboot.I uninstalled Situations, and manually put the phone into offline mode and power saving mode. By the morning I had the same issue, stuck in offline mode until reboot. So it's not the App causing the problem. I've tried a soft reset, same problem still.
I also noticed that over-night (from fully charged before 9pm) to 6:30am I used about 70% of my charge. (A combination of power saving mode and offline mode is killing my battery!)I would have to go to work and immediately put my phone on charge! I.e.. 12 hours of offline + power save has drained my battery almost completely.Last night I decided to use the Situations App to put the phone into offline mode, BUT NOT activate power save mode. This morning the phone had virtually full charge and it had no problem returning to online mode.So it's ONLY if I use BOTH power-save and offline. (Tonight I will try using power-saving mode and NOT offline mode to see if it's only the power-saving mode causing the issue!)If I manually enter offline+power-save mode, and then try to return to on-line/non-power-save mode, relatively quickly, i.e.. Not over-night, everything is fine. It's only over night the problems start!
When I go to Offline mode I can't switch back to any other mode without having to remove the battery of my E72. I can't even switch off the phone as it freezes. This issue started when I installed the first phone software update last year. Yesterday I installed the latest software but the problem persists.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today before I went in to school I put my phone in bedside mode (so that the led would not blink (I use berrybuzz, which is very bright)) then locked the keyboard and put it in standby, for added security, before putting it in my book bag. After 2nd period I got my phone out and it was hot, as if it had been continuously downloading something or playing a video. The screen was dim but never turned off. The battery, which was at 100% only 1 or 2 hours earlier, was drained to 1 bar. I checked to see if any apps were running, with no luck, and then pulled the battery out and left it out until about an hour ago or so. The phone is fine now, but I don't know what happened.
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust updated two days ago and my Airplane Mode icon will take me to the settings screen where I have to tap on Airplane Mode again which turns it into a two step process and makes the icon pointless. The other thing is that the screen is not dimming like it did in Power Saver mode. I keep my screen about 1/3 because indoors it's all I need and it would drop it about 10% before I updated to 4.3. Now it keeps it at the 1/3 default no matter what. I can't really say whether it's having a dramatic effect on battery life, but it would be nice to get that extra 5% in times of need.
