Last year when Apple upgraded their software, I lost the ability to sync my iPhone and iPad to my iMac. Because I store a lot of personal customer data, I want to sync directly, not through iCloud. I read in August 2013 that Apple was in the beta version of a fix for this problem, but have not seen any resolution in software updates that I have downloaded.
Info: iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), iPhone 4
Ever since I activated BES (so that I could sync email/calendar with my company's MS Exchange server), I have been experiencing a couple of email-related issues that I did not have previously: 1)When composing a new email or trying to add another contact to an existing email, when I type in the name of the person, the email address auto-complete function does not work. It does work when I am sending SMS, MMS, and searching through my Phone Book, but does not work in email for some reason. Even if I manually type in the correct email address, I do not have a option for the email. I can only reply to email or go through the Phone Book and selection the phonebook entry. I have done the phone book quickfix several times without any success. 2)My calendar events are not showing up in my BES email folder both sent or received calendar notices do not show up for some reason. I have re-sent the Service Books from BES a couple of times to no avail.
I am, having trouble getting my ical on my imac computer to sync to my iphone. everything else sync's, but not the ical entries. What do I need to do to get the calendar entries from my computer to sync to my calendar on my iphone?
I have searched internet including Apple Communities to find out why the phone numbers in the Address Book won't sync with iPhone 4S Contacts. All email addresses, etc. have transferred but not phone numbers. I have tried clearing the Sync history via Preferences but that did not work. I am using USB cable and Wifi syncing through iTunes.
I just got my iPhone 4 on Friday (release day here in Canada! yay!), and I also got an email from Apple saying my newly-ordered iMac has shipped! Best day ever... lol.
Anyways, I was wondering if this is possible: I manually added contacts from my old cell phone as well as my address book (Outlook Express on a 9 year old PC) to my iPhone. When I get my new iMac, will I be able to sync all of those contacts from my iPhone on to the iMac to populate my iMacs Address book app? Forgive my noobiness, but this is my first Mac ever, and my first iPhone (not counting my iPod touch).
I am tired of forgetting to erase emails on my phone for hours if I leave it sit for a week or so without checking. how do I make it so when I delete the mail in my mail on my iMac, that my phone inbox reflects that?there is no way to mass delete the email on your phone so what the heck?
I need to back up and sync multiple iPhones to a single iMac. Each iPhone has a separate Apple ID and the data from each iPhone needs to be backed up separately from the others. How can I do this without getting all of the contacts, etc. mixed?
My iCloud email pushes mail to my iPhone and my iMac. But, when I delete an email from my iMac, my badge does not update on the Mail icon on my iPhone, unless I acually open mail on the iPhone. The iPhone acts like the Push function only works for receiving emails and not for deleting them from the iMac.
I have deleted my iCloud account on my iPhone and then reinstalled it, and that did not fix it. What can I do to fix the Push issue that I am having?
PS I am using the latest Mail and Mavericks on my iMac and the latest iOS on my iPhone.
Info: iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), 16 gigs of Ram - 3 gig Fusion Drive
where is the setting for controlling the auto signature on outgoing email? Every email that I send adds my name at the bottom. Can I turn that off/on or change the signature?
As a student in college, I constantly email my professors back and forth but waiting 15 minute intervals until my mail refreshes is ridiculous. I can't seem to find a way around this... I have just switch to the iphone from a blackberry which automatically pushed my email on its arrive to the server, so this is extremely annoying that I have to wait or manually push my mail. I mainly use my college email account which is not associated with g-mail, hotmail, yahoo etc.
How do you delete an address from autofill in email? I have cleared cache, browser, history, updated contacts in gmail.. etc etc. What is happening is that even though the address is not in my address book, because I've used it on my phone it keeps coming up. I have read through here on how to delete it, but I can not find out how to delete this. I am using iphone 4, newest software, gmail. The address is not in my address book and everything/person I've replied too is saved/keeps coming up.
I previously had a gmail account and on that, I obviously sent emails.
This account as now been deleted off my iPhone and the login credentials long forgotten.
Now under my new iCloud and new gmail account (which I created in lieu of my previous gmail), I get the email addresses that I no longer want or use that I sent from my previous and now-deleted account, popping up in my auto-fill as soon as I start to type a few characters in the "To" box.
I'd rather not restore my iPhone to factory settings. I have an iPhone 4 running on the latest software and I also have a PC on windows vista.
How do I remove email addresses from the autocomplete list in iPhone or iPad Mail apps? I know how to do this in Mac OS X Mail. But the iOS Mail apps don't seem to provide a way to remove old, dead or unwanted email addresses that you don't want autocomplete to list when you start typing in an email address.
Just had my htc one for about a week now but i'm not satisfied with the battery. I keep the 4g mobile data on all the time and do facebook, surfing net, youtube and listening to music. I already disabled auto sync as well as google now. At 100% battery umplugged at 9am, only about 20% left at 3pm and this has all been the same since the day i got this phone.
After installing the latest OTA update the phone spontaneously and without prompting turns off auto-sync for all my accounts. I only notice it has happened because I realize it has been long since I received a mail. This can happen anytime, I have not seen any pattern regarding when it happens.I switch on flight mode every night. I don't know whether that has anything to do with it.Before the update, when I used the Power Save app, after turning it on and then off, the phone would not restore the auto-sync setting, so it was kept off. I stopped using the Power Save app after that.I don't know if it's related.
