IPhone :: Unable To Activate After Updating To Ios 5
Jun 3, 2012
i can't activate my iphone 3gs after updating to ios 5 it tells me that the server is temporarily unavailable or try to connect to itunes and when i do connect to itunes itunes tell me that i don't have a sim card in when i do have a vodafone
as the title says agter i updated my iphone 3gs to the latest software through itunes, my phone reset to complete update and when my phone came back on it can't find a signal and is unable to activate and itunes says the phone doesn't have a sim in it
I own an iPhone 3Gs, It was a birthday gift from my aunt. She sent it over from Canada to the Philippines. At the first time i used it, my local sim card cannot be read by the iPhone, so my aunt said that it has to be unlocked. So i had it unlocked. I recently updated my iOS 5 to iOS 5.1 because of the interesting updates it has and so as my friends told me to upgrade. Now I have a problem that when I turn the phone on, I cannot activate my phone. I think that it would be impossible to be unlocked because it wont activate by itself. I do not want to waste the iPhone, it is the first iPhone that I have. I suppose that I am not the only one having this problem. I stored a lot of important stuffs in my 3Gs that helps me in my studies.
in 2011 I bought an iPhone 4 in Brazil, then it starts to have problens with the home button, in 2012 I go to an Apple store in USA and they give me a new iPhone because my phone was in the warranty time. It was working just fine, until yesterday when I have the brilliant idea to reset my iPhone to the factory configuration, the process its ok, but now I can't activate my phone, when i try to do this with my brazilian carrier's micro sim it say that i have to use the micro sim of the original carrier, but I don't have any of it, they don't give me one in Apple Store.
i bought a iphone off my friend and i lost the sim card that comes with the iphone 4 and i can't activate the phone. i also bought a sim card from rogers but it didn't work.
I have an iPhone 4S, which was bought at Apple Store in December for $649, without a contract, but with a Sprint sim-card in it. I intended to use it only outside the US on a local carrier.
I activated it with my local sim and used it without any problem until today. I had to restore the iPhone to factory settings using iTunes to iOS 5.1.1 and suddenly I get an error - SIM not valid! Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone, etc...
I have a iPhone4S through Sprint, US carrier. I was having some difficulties with an enterprise application and my IT staff full reset my phone after backing it up to my MacBook Pro. Unfirtunately for the past 2 hours it would seem, I am unable to activate my phone after full reset. I have tried "Activating through iTunes" and I have tried activating over WiFi, both attach and unattached to my MacBook. Every scenario results in the same error on my phone, reading:
"Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes."
Well I have been trying again for more than a couple of minutes. Is the activation server truly down? Or is this on my end. Any assistance in troubelshooting. I had just recently updated over the air to 5.1.1 prior to the backup.
When i try to activate my iMessage or my Facetime it stays "Waiting for activation" for a long time or says cannot activate. I don't want to reset my phone so is there anyway through like my apple id account i can activate it on the computer or itunes?
I just got a new iphone 4s, Upgrade from my 3gs. Im on wifi , Texting works internet works, Everything is normal. When i go to activate my imessage and facetime , I type in my username and password like it says and then it just says error check internet connection. However, Im on my personal wifi which works 100% and even when i switch it off wifi it still says the same thing?
ever since i had the update 5.1.1 for my iphone 3gs it has notbeen able to detect any sim and it is unable to activate, also before i had the update my phone worked perfect with the sim i am using atm which is giff gaff (runs on o2-uk)
I cannot turn on my location services and my AT&T Data is not responding appropriately either! The key board is acting strange like a remote app is typing
I cannot get the personal hotspot to work. Even though I've confirmed with Verizon that it is turned on for the right hand set on the account, when I tried to turned it on on my iPhone it just prompts me to contact my carrier either via phone or website. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1 and I've tried the following:
1. resetting the network setting.
2. changing the phone's name to a single word without spaces nor special characters.
3. reset the whole phone.
4. combinations of the above several times.
These are supposed to be workable solutions based on what I've read online, but they didn't work for me. My online search kept leading me to an imaginary solution that states:Another way is to retype the access point name in. Go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data, scorell down and fill in an access point name under "Internet Tethering" for APN. I call it imaginary because I do not see this on my phone anywhere. Under network there's only the option to turn cellular data on or off, and under statistics there's a cellular data usage. I don't see "APN" or "Internet Tethering" anywhere.
I have purchased this device from my colleague, he is a US citizen, this device worked for some time than suddenly asking searching after trying Airplane Mode Off/On , Reset Network Setting , nothing worked than I try to restore from iTunes unfortunately , I am not able to activate it. and it still showing searching...I know my ICloud  login Id and Password .
I have a an iPhone 4s 5.1. I have just recently updated from iOS 5.01. I kept getting messages saying that i had purchased songs that hadnt transfered and asking if i wanted to transfer them to itunes. i said yes and it immediately said it detected a device but it couldnt read it properly. so i attempted to restore it to factory settings. (after switching out USB cables and uninstalling/reinstalling itunes) i hit restore and it asked if i wanted to restore and i hit yes only to have a pop-up detailing all the new features on the 5.1 update. i cannot get past this point.
I has just performed an update ( the first in nearly 9 months) on my I phone 4.After the update it went automatically into "Restore" After 5 mins or so it failed with an error 1603 ?
I updated yesterday to ios 5.1 and now I am unable to join my home network. I have reset network connections, restarted, entered correct name and passwords and get the message "unable to join ____". i didn't have this problem until the update.
