I have an iphone4s i love the thing but im starting to rerget it . Why cause my battery dies super fast and I dont use it that much only when texting and on instagram . Welll I pluged in the charger in my phone and my phone start getting really hot . Also a very bad smell came out . i pulled out my iphone from the charge and the dockwas burned .

So I'm at work, I plug my Tour in to charge, about 10 minutes later I smell burning plastic. I don't know what went wrong, but the tip of my charger was really hot and was starting to melt. Better believe I'm getting Verizon to replace it! I'm just happy my Tour is unharmed, even if it is about to lose pow.
View 8 Replies View Relatedafter connecting this iPhone 3G 8GB to a non original car charger (I really was in an emergency and had to, don't blame me for this thing) the device won't even boot up, nor lcd screen dim even a little bit when pressing the on off button. Moreover, when connected to the original power source or to a pc/mac's usb it becomes hot till you have to drop it or otherwise burn your hand. iTunes doesn't recognize the device, either.
Supposing the battery was the failing component, I substituted it, but the problem still persists (no dimming lcd, near to burning hell temp, no iTunes recognition).
Is there anyone out there with some advices?
Perhaps should I look for data port substitution? Is it possible that a power related failure breaks up the motherboard?
I dont know if anyone else has seen this problem but I have a 3gs and after installing update, my phone went through battery like crazy. Im talking like almost a percent per minute. Even after turning off as much as I could think of. Then I started deleting apps, rebooting, and at some point it stopped consuming current and started acting normal. I dont know if it was a rogue app but I suspect so. I have not updated any apps in over a month I would say so it could be.

I've had great experience with my E71, almost no crashes, fantastic battery life. But I installed Mail For Exchange 3.0 last night and with it, my phone now is burning through the battery. It was down one tick last night after I installed it, but by 1:30 this afternoon it was dead. I even plugged it in at work for an hour when it started alerting me of the low battery. It was also heating up considerably, which has only happened to me once before, when I was running Qik for an hour. A co-worker of mine has an E71 as well and has had issues with other versions of MFE before.

For me personally, if I knew the iphone would hit Vz in the next 3 months, I'd continue holding off on any purchase to at least try an iphone on Vz. How about you?

Anyone else have this problem? I usually sleep with my Bold in bed with me (who doesn't) lol, and have been waken up many times to a sizzling hot phone. like burning up hot. I put it on the nightstand and seems to cool down. but I always slept with my tour laying next to me in bed, and it never got that hot. So my iphone 3gs 16 gig would not charge. Tried it in the computer and wall charger. i read online and most answers was to get a new batterie. Since my iPhone battery was already bad i bought a new one. I installed it right and it started up. However i pluged it in and it would still not charge. This iPhone has caused me so much time and money im ready to throw it out the window.

I just picked up two new nokia icons off ebay.. it was listed as new at least.. came in a box etc..
If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
I have a Bold 9000 and it is draining the battery very quickly doesnt even last a few hours with a couple of calls and when its flat will only charge if I take out the battery and put in on a universal charger it wont charge with the blackberry mains charger, car charger or usb connection.I have bought two new batteries and all the same thing, turned off all applications I can see.The phone was bought new from an ebay seller in December and I cant get any response now from them and they are no longer on ebay.I have seen something about updating the system.

I then went to move my phone plus charger upstairs so i could charge it overnight, plugged it in with the same charger it worked with earlier and no sign of charging. My brand new 4s will not charge and will not recognise itunes, best option anyone can give me is send my phone away lose all my data and wait 10-14 days for a replacement. Good 1 APPLE, maybe time to switch the company phones back to Blackberry. I have all new models never had a problem and always recomended iphones as the best thing. This was until I had an issue and tried to get it fixed, not happy with after sales service :-(

when I plug in the wall chager (the little 110v adapter for the iPod/iPhone USB cable), it doesn't do anything. I tried every cable available; car charger, PC, power brick that came with my iPad etc (they all work on the iPad, just no longer my iPhone).
When it's plugged in, it doesn't charge, doesn't change the icon to the lightning bolt, but it did go from 9% to 22% on an overnight charge, though that is still in RED like when it gets to 10% or lower.
I've ready TON's of posts on here about folks having similiar issues but haven't seen a fix yet. Seems like Apple has a real product issue with the iPhone 4s Battery.
Should I take this to Apple or the AT&T store where I bought it? Don't want to waste my time in either location if they'll just tell me to go to the other store. I'm really not happy with this phone, especially since I've convinced all my family and some extended family to buy the iPhone, now they're gonna start having these problems as well. I've been lucky that this is my first real problem with an Apple device though.
