My friend just bought an iphone 4 and she can not send regular text messages out.. only imessages to people that have iphones. She gets the alert notification saying it failed to send. Also she set up her email like it told her to and now her contact name is her email address. She just wants her name there... What do we do?

Recently I bought a new playbook and i have been trying to update it through my wifi but evrytime it fails. The playbook finds the update and starts downloading but after a while the download stops and there is a message unable to download software update. Since Friday I've been unable to hold a phone call for longer than 20 seconds and been unable to send text messages. The call fails every time at exactly 10 or 20 seconds. This applies whether the call is incoming or outgoing. I have tried pulling the battery and that fixes the problem temporarily but it usually returns within about five minutes. I am still able to receive text messages.

Phone adds a 1 in front of the phone number of the text. I am only using a 10 digit munber, but the phone keeps adding a 1. I get an error message saying invalid number and to resend using a valid 10 digit number. iMessage works fine. It's only when I try to text someone not using an iPhone.

So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..

I noticed lately that when I try to send a link from a web page (iOS Safari, and all up to date on the iPhone 5s) to somebody via share message (text) in Safari, I get lag after I type the contact's name in the contact box....followed by a view of old messages from several days ago. When I click send, I would sometimes hear the send sound. Now if I check my text messages, I don't see the shared link in the conversation. if I reboot the phone it works fine until a day or two later where I experience the same issue. My prior 5s has the same issue as well.
