I have just received my iPhone 4S, activated the SIM and done the basic set up. It has some battery charge from factory. What is the best practice for charging the new battery.
1. Let this charge run down completely first and then recharge?
2. Charge up to full now?

On some sites I have read I have to charge and discharge the battery completely a few times to make it better, on some I read lithium batterys don't like to be fully discharged and all you need is a few overnight charges or charging the battery for 1 to 16 hours. I am totally confues the sites are all about xperia mini pro battery. It can't both be correct, so which is it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSymptoms: Phone wont charge. right off the box. Says "Battery cannot be charged, please use a Sony Ericsson Battery". It is a Sony Ericsson battery. It is a Sony Ericsson charger. Everything came out of the box.
I just opened it, and first thing I did was plug it into the wall. Now, I have installed the update service, tells me phone is up to date (downloaded straight from sonyericsson.com). I have installed Phone suite 6.01; tried a repair phone, aborts with an error when it comes to the update service (right after the remove batery, press C while connecting phone part). Also same thing with car charger.

This was shot and edited in 720p entirely on an iPhone 4 using iMovie. I received my iPhone 4 in the mail a day early and my friend didn't want to go wait for his alone, so I decide to go along and document the entire event with my new iPhone's HD camera. (Some of those in line were noticeably annoyed at my use of the new phone while they waited, but I tried to conceal it as much as possible). We got to the Santa Barbara State Street Apple Store around 5:30am and were about 25th in the reservation line. I had a ton of fun, and am so glad I went, Apple really knows how to release a product, maybe next time I'll just reserve it rather than get it shipped. EDIT: So I learned some tricks while editing that I thought I should share those for others playing around with iMovie
I typically work within Final Cut Pro when editing video, so going into iMovie I was met with several limitations, but I figured out a few workarounds for most of the issues I faced: Titles remain over an entire clip, so if you want titles just to appear at the beginning of a clip, (Like seen at the very beginning of my video) you must trim the end of a clip to the length you wish. Then import that same clip again, and trim the beginning to the length of your first clip. Make sure you remove the crossfade as well......
Beginning to give up on the HD2 since I have no 850 here in Virginia Beach and might go the LG Apollo later in the year but would like to get a new one to hold me over. The Pure might be good, wanted to see if anyone knows a few good places with deals on unlocked ones? Don't want to sign a contract yet with any one.

I know it would help, if not eliminate, my fear of scratches if I could just stop cleaning the screen, but those fingerprints drive me mad!

For example, when I have my alarm set and set on alarm only for ringer, the alarm is so freaking loud it gives me a heart attack in the morning. Is there any way to turn it down before I set it? Since the ringer is set for alarm only I can not control the volume that way. Just wondering if there was a way to make it softer. Also, when its powered on and charging is there any way to get rid of the annoying little beep when it becomes fully charged? Hearing that at 2AM isn't fun. Again, I have the phone set to Alarm only and it still does that.

I returned my iphone 4s on Saturday for a new one because the camera on the old one won't work. I came home and synced and updated the new one. The new one will not hold a charge from fully charged for more than 3 hours. The upgrades to the new phone took over an hour. Why won't the new phone hold a charge?

Well today I went and got my brand new iPhone 3GS. Plugged it in. Followed all the Pwnagetool guides to the T and when I get to the very last part, I got error message 1600, unable to restore. Surfing around I believe that my iPhone can not be jailbroken? Is that the case? iPhone just gets stuck in DFU or recovery mode and have to restore the iPhone with original apple firmware. On the last try I got a completely black screen and the iPhone only came back to life when I restored it with apple software. Any help is appreciated. I think because I have the lastest bootrom or loader I can not jailbreak as Pwnage tool doesnt support it yet. DAMN! I wanted Proswitcher and Backgrounder.

She does not want it. It was a gift from an admirer and won't take it back. They are now going to just sell it and take the money.So my current situation is this, I currently have the iPhone box, sealed at my house. The box displays IMEI and some other information stuff. What I don't know is if the phone was bought from a carrier like Rogers/Fido or from a reseller store or something. The friend overseas would like the phone to be brand new and sealed. Also he would like the phone unlocked so he can use it.Problem, is there a way to find out through IMEI or somewhere on box to figure out if the phone was bought from a carrier? I've never bought an iPhone from Rogers/Fido so don't know if there'd be a logo or something somwhere on box. As of now there are no indications somewhere saying it is from a carrier. My friend over here also thinks it was not bought at a carrier. We can't really ask the original guy who bought it because of whatever issues too.So yeah, if anyone knows if its really easy to figure this out or something, please let me know.

I just purchased an iPhone 3GS. It came with iOS5 preinstalled. I haven't been able to make it go into silent mode. Is there some setting I need to switch?
In my 1st generation iPhone, all I had to do was flip the switch on the side of the iPhone, so that the orange dot would be seen, and it would display the crossed bell graphic and go into silent mode.
When I flip the switch on the iPhone 3GS, nothing happens. It still makes noise when it rings. I tried toggling the setting in "Sounds" which said "Change with Buttons", but the switch still doesn't work. Toggling this setting seems to affect whether the "speaker" graphic is on screen when I press the volume buttons.
It seems that there is no way I can get the ringer switch to do anything. Is there anyway to make this work? Or have I received a defective unit? =S

I have tried countless times and nearly bricked my phone half a dozen times now. Thank god for DFU mode. Anyway, I would love to jailbreak it (no need to unlock) but what I'm really after is tethering. Nothing works on 3.1.3 unless it's jailbroken and i cannot do that, or so links from google tell me.
