IPhone :: All Contacts From Address Book Were Deleted?
May 30, 2012
All contacts from address book on I-phone 4 were deleleted upon syncing--any way to get them back? They were not backed up to computer or I-cloud!!!! I have no hard copy.
So I added a new gmail email address to my phone but by accident, when prompted told it to synch my contacts with that account. The first thing it did was import all the contacts to my gmail address book, on gmail.com, effectively erasing most of them from the phone. I took it into the t-mobile store and the guy somehow managed to recover about 1/3 of the contacts. So when I took it home, I deleted that email address and just plugged it into my computer and re-synched the contacts from my address book. However, whenever I look in my address book on the blackberry now, at the top of a contact it says "Sychronize using: emailaddress@gmail.com" (Obviously insert the email address I used). But that email address is no longer on my phone, so how is it synched with that? It also I think it is creating problems with synching up my facebook contacts as their pictures no longer show as icons on my phone. It's a minor problem, and seems to be a software issue, but is there any way to completely un-sych my contacts from this deleted email address?
I'm trying to organize my contacts and I want to replace all iphone contacts with address book contacts. every time I sync my phone it restores my old contacts.
So, went through and deleted some applications I don't use and then address book was gone. I deleted: Google Talk Facebook and maybe 1 other, but no core apps No backup. Any ideas?
I just did a really stupid thing!!! I was playing around with bitpim because I have never used it before.. I have now deleted my whole address book! I had over 200 contacts in it. Is there anyways I can restore my whole address book with bitpim? I am not really an expert at this so if anyone can give me step by step instructions that would be awesome.
Yesterday I noticed that my iPhone had only about 25% of my usual contacts in it. I thought I would sync it today and make sure everything copied over well. Before syncing I checked address book on my mac to find that it was completely empty.
Any idea why these would be missing? I have a backup but it is from before I got my iPhone 2 weeks ago and had my contacts carried over from my old phone I can recover the contacts, but it would be a slow and long process and I don't want to have them go missing again.
I am "on" iCloud but reset of iPhone to factory settings lost all contacts. Info is still on the iPad. What is the best way to get the info back to the iPhone? ICloud?
I've been having problems with duplicated contacts for ages, probably because I sometimes sync with mobileme and sometimes with iTunes. Some contact names have a person's name with a massive list of random email addresses and other names started popping up which were wrong. I downloaded an app called DeleteQ to remove the duplicates and now it's gone completely nuts. The wrong names are popping up all over the place when people call and text. People's details are all jumbled up.
It's got a phone number that's repeated for hundreds of email addresses. My address book on my mac has similar problems, but I think it's in a much better state than my phone, but it's hard to tell. I've tried replacing my phone contacts with my computer address book contacts, but I think that's led to more duplication. I don't intend to move to iCloud until Lion improves with a decent update, which I'm mentioning in case anyone here recommends moving to iCloud.
I am trying to sync my contacts from my iPhone 4 to Address Book on my mac.My Address Book is currently empty. My Google contacts are empty as well.So Is there a way to send my contacts to my Mac? and sync to Google contact as well?
SMS will not recognise my contacts in address book i'm not in th USA so do not think it is a carrier prob and tried deleting and resync - still not worked?
I recently went into the lake with my iPhone 4 in my pocket. I tried the rice trick, but no luck. Although I do still have my very first iPhone the 1st Gen. I went into the AT&T store to give me a new SIM for it and it started up. When I went home to sync it to my computer, I couldn't restore it from my iPhone 4 because the software was too old on the 1st Gen. It is on 3.1.3 and will not allow me to go any higher. My biggest problem is syncing my contacts from Address Book. It will not allow my in the info tab. It says sync contacts but nothing from my address book is there. Only Yahoo and Google options. How do I get my Address Book on here?
I have S'ony Xperia X8. The address book icon desappear of the screen corner (emails/music/numbers and address book). How can I put it in that place again?
I need to restore my phone and just synced it to keep a back-up of data. But I don't trust that all of my address book contacts will be saved. Will it?
When I imported Address Book to my iPhone, it also imported my prefix field. When I receive a known phone call or I am searching for a contact, all I can see is "Mr. and Mrs...." in the screen. Certainly I need the prefix for my Macbook when writing letters, address labels, etc., but not in my iPhone. I cannot seem to find a satisfactory way to delete the prefix on my iPhone.
I did think about making a copy of AB and then deleting the prefixes, but even that seems difficult as (so far) the only way I can make that work is my deleting each prefix, individually. I have a thousand contacts and that seems awfully laborious. Finally, I'm not even sure how I could merge that into iPhone without screwing up my original Address Book.
I just recently got an iPhone 4, and have been setting up all of my e-mail accounts, calendars, contacts, etc. My previous phone (not an iPhone) transferred all of my contacts, including e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses, to my new iPhone. I also set up iCloud to sync and backup all of my important data in case something were to happen. I never had these contacts on my PowerBook address book, and I would like to add them. However, I have been hitting several problems when I attempt to sync my new iPhone, with all my contacts, to my PowerBook G4, which has none. Numerous sources have told me that iTunes is set to sync the older data with the newer data. When I attempt to sync, I get an extra empty folder in my iPhone contacts labeled "on my Mac," with nothing in it.
My iPhone 4S randomly loses contacts, even if I have re-entered them into the phone. Tonight 12 of the contacts I text to are no longer in my address book. Their text window just shows their phone number.
My iphone will no longer synch new contacts in my Address Book on my Mac. It was working fine and then I loaded too much audio content and ran out of memory so I think it could not synch properly without memory available. I've since deleted all my audio and have plenty of space yet new contacts in Address Book do not show up on my iPhone even though the synch process appears to complete.
I have a really old 3Gs that will not sync contacts (or even offer the option of syncing to) my gmail contacts. I've tried everything. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, I reset my phone's settings. I made gmail the default email account on my phone and changed the port to 443. The only option it offers is my Windows Address Book, which apparently isn't even a thing anymore (it's now Windows contacts).I don't want to pay for the cloud because I don't think I'll have this phone much longer and I can't afford a new (or even used) iPhone...
Trying to Sync via PC patch cable the BB Address Book (Contacts) with MS Outlook Contacts.Set-up failing apparently because wireless data sync with the Bold is turned ON. Can't locate referenced setting on the device to turn OFF.
My address book shows my both my email contacts and my phone number contacts. I just want to view my phone ook contacts and not the emails. How can i change this?!
