IPhone :: 4s - Why Does It Duplicate Pictures In Camera Roll
Jul 2, 2012
Every time I take a picture with my iPhone 4s, a duplicate appears in my camera roll a few seconds later. At first I thought it had to do with the HDR feature, so I turned the "Keep normal photo" setting off. It didn't make the slightest difference.
Both pics are exact copies. The only differences are the size (one would be around 800k, the other one around 2.5MB) and the name (the largest one adds -1 at the end of it).
After restoring to a new phone (I again had a wallpaper get locked into place on me, and couldn't change it) I lost all my pictures.I want to know if there's any way I can get them back into my camera roll other than emailing them to myself, opening up the pictures, and saving each and every one of them.It would be really convenient if there were a folder I can put my pics into using SSH.and I've SSH'd before, so I have WinSCP, but I forgot if all I need on my iPhone is OpenSSH or is there something else?
My iPhone 3 G S when I take a picture the picture does not show in the camera roll when I try to view! I deleted all my pictures in camera roll thinking when I take a picture it will not show in camera roll?I power off the phone and turn on and I cleared all pics from camera roll while sync. Thank you.
Let me explain my situation. Every now and then when something unfortunate happens I have to do a restore as new phone. I want to keep the pictures in my camera roll so I access the phone as a camera copy the picture and put them in a folder called camera roll. The thing is it always labels the pictures img_1, img_2 ...etc and so if I repeat this process more than once it just copies over the old pictures.
Is there a way around this or maybe some way to make the file the date it was taken? I know my razr did it just wondering if the iphone can. Btw im on windows if that makes a difference. Thanks
I just installed Windows 7 on my computer and forgot to back up my pictures. All the pictures in my Camera Roll are fine but I had another folder from my last restore. How can I take these pictures off my phone then re sync them?
Just a few days ago, for some reason my iPhone 3GS stopped saving the pictures and vids that I take in Camera Roll. The most recent photo in my Camera Roll is from 4 days ago. I did not upgrade my OS/firmware.I read somewhere that it might be saving it to the root directory. If that's the case, how do I access it? And how do I change where the pics are being saved to back to what it should be?I'm guessing there's an app that allows you to look at your files on your iPhone as if you were looking at it like a hard drive, but I'm not sure which one is the best nor do I know its capabilities.Suggestions?
I have a 4S running on iOS 5.0. I reset my phone a few weeks ago when I was playing around, and I restored it from my iCloud backup. Everything was fine except the filename counter for my pictures was also reset to IMG0001. I transfer pictures to my computer regularly so now I have many pictures with duplicated names, such as IMG0001.JPG and IMG0001 (2).JPG. This is much of an annoyance but I can live with that.
However I have even weirder things happening now. Let's say before I reset my phone I had shot a vidoe and the name was IMG0010.MOV. After the reset of course the video is gone, and I take pictures with my phone as usual. So I took a picture whose name as IMG0010.JPG again, and when I try to see it in the camera roll, I see the first frame of my old video! In the thumbnail view it is the right picture, but when I tap on it to view it, it shows my newly taken picture for about half a second, and then displays my old video. I guess there must be some old cache on my phone that override the picture display. Does anyone know how to fix it?
I should add that the picture is also displayed wrongly in my photo stream folder on the phone. On the other hand when I access the picture from the computer (in the DCIM folder, and in the synced photo stream folder) it is the right one. But I want to view the pictures on my phone! I can't take my computer with me anytime!
I have now created new albums on my phone and added photos to it from my orginal camera roll. Can I now delete those pictures from the orginal camera roll without deleting them from my phone completely?
I updated from 4.0 to 5.1 and now when i open my camera roll it says there are no pictures and or videos taken. It says to take pictures click on the camera or whatever. So i do and i take a picture and try an look at it an there is no picture in my camera. I have completely restored it twice, rebooted many times, turned it off an on. I backed up everything after i updated i restored my contacts and such. Anyone know what i can do?
i have added pictures from my camera roll into different albums. but every time i try to delete the ones from the camera roll, it asks if i want to delete the picture from everywhere or cancel. how do i keep them in the other albums, but delete them from the camera roll?
Yesterday i had restore my phone due to it crashing. I also couldn't turn it off because my lock button is broken.I was advised to restore it.I used the option keep all media. After the restore it asked me if I wanted to backup from the icloud which was last done at 9:30 that morning! However no pictures or video have gone to the camera roll.
Pictures have appeared on photostream so they are ok. But from my understanding Icloud does backup video but just not onto photostream. how to get the videos back.?
I never set up photstream until after I put 600 pics on my camera roll. I just set up photostream today and it says that all recent pics i take from now will go into photostream? Two main questions? HOw do I see my pics in Itunes? How do I put my camera roll into photostream? I would like my pics to go to Icloud.
Anyone have a black block when they click on their camera roll? I can still view my photos if I tap one of them, but when I back out, instead of seeing thumbnails, I see just blackness. Is this a bug or what? I tried restoring twice from my backup to no avail.
Is there an app in cydia or the app store that allows me to navigate through the file folders within my iphone and make changes? Basically, I have multiple folders/albums in the photo app. Each labeled for different types of photos. Well, when I take pictures with my phone, everything goes into the camera roll. Then I have to connect my phone to my macbook and use iphoto to reorganize the photos in my camera roll to the designated folders and then sync my phone with itunes. I was looking for an app that would let me simply go into the file system and copy the photos in my camera roll and place them into my labeled folders.
Ive been looking around for a jailbreak app or something that can sort the camera roll straight from the iphone and not having to go into itunes from the computer and manually do it.... why hasnt someone come up with a hack for this? anyone with info on something they have gotten to work thats a straight download from either cydia or rock and automatically works without hard labor please post. thanks.
I've got a video that's in .mov format that was accidentally deleted off the camera roll, but luckily i had copied it over to the computer before. So i am wondering how do i put it back into the camera roll section? i've tried SSHing and putting it back in, but the video just doesn't show up after putting it in the correct directory.any help would be greatly appreciated.
My laptop monitor broke a couple months ago and I didn't have available harddrive space elsewhere to transfer my pictures, so I figured I'd get them off my iPhone later once I got a new computer. Got the new computer, and I feel like I have tried every program I can find online, and none of them will get any photos off my phone except for the camera roll photos. I don't give a darn about those. I want my 2 years' worth of digital camera photos. Is there another way to do this that I'm not aware of? Don't bother if it's a paid program. I already tried one (don't remember which one) and it didn't do what it said it would. Do you think if I took this in to an Apple store they could transfer them somehow for me, especially if I brought my own computer? I miss my photos and emailing them (which would take ages for each one) just gives me thumbnails.
My iCloud is now almost full, and I don't want to buy more storage. I have over 1000 pic on my camera roll, and would like to archive them off somewhere, and hopefully reduce my iCloud storage.I am syncing to a Vista PC, and download my pics to Picasa.
Went out to the zoo today with my daughter and shot some great video on my iPhone 4, when I got home and synced my phone, iPhoto imported all the pictures and videos (which is fine), however I chose to delete everything off the camera roll. I decided to import all the videos to iTunes and sync them to both my iPhone and iPad, but now I realize that I can't edit, select or send these clips to my friends and relatives since they are not in the camera roll.
So I guess my questions are:
1. Is there a way to edit movies shot on the iPhone not in the camera roll (as per title)?
2. If not, is there a way to put the movies back on the roll (without jailbreaking)?
BTW, I did a search on this and found nothing helpful.
Does anybody know how to delete all photos from Camera Roll at once? I find it rather dull deleting photos one by one, especially when photos in camera roll accumulate to hundreds. Probably there is a way to do it in iPhoto, but that doesn't suit me since I'm on Windows. Couldn't find a way to do it in Piccasa or iTunes, too. I've been thinking of the following:
- Is there software for Windows for that? - Are there some iPhone apps that do the thing (from AppStore or JailBreak)?
So my boyfriend and I both installed 3.0 to our iPhones (I have a 1st gen, he has a 3G), and everything seems to be working fine. except that the photos my boyfriend is taking on his 3G are not showing up on his Camera Roll. Does anyone else have this problem? (I searched, and couldn't seem to find a thread about this - so he may be the only one). Luckily the photos he's taking ARE being saved in the phone somehow, as they eventually show up when he syncs. However it's still very annoying -- as he can't double-check to see if the photos he's taking are any good. (And he actually uses some of his 3G photos for photography work). Anyone know what might be happening? Will he have to do a full restore or something?
