Jun 12, 2012I've had my iPhone4 for two years now and every so often ( happening more often now) I plug my phone in to charge (with the orginal charger) and it says it doesn't recognize the hardware? Also at the Same time as this fault I loose all sound and have no option to adjust sound in my iPod player.

Sympthoms:
iPhone 4 not charging via USB connected to Windows PC, Macbook Pro iPhone 4 not charging via wall charger iPhone 4 not being recognized by iTunes in all my computers (tried in 2 Windows PCs, a Macbook Pro) iPhone 4 not being even recognized as some device, It's like it never was connected.
At this moment I have no remaning battery charge so the phone can't be turned on. Before battery was drained, I tried to reset my phone, turn it off/on again, remore all settings (through the phone, because I can't do it through iTunes)
None of this worked. So, I guess it has something to do with the iPhone dock connector..

May 18, 2012My iPhone 4 suddenly stopped charging via ANY charge medium, connected directly to USB port with adapter, via an iHome-like stereo, nor will it work in a wall charger. Also, neither a Mac (10.7) nor will a Win 7 computer with updated iTunes recognize it. Every time I connect it I get a message "USB device not recognized and has malfunctioned..." I have already changed the battery out (it was already out of warranty) still not charging or being recognized.

Dec 6, 2014My Iphone 5s will not charge or sync when connected to my USB port on my laptop. I have an HP Envy17 jt-100 running on windows 8.1. I already checked the hardware and don't even see Apple Device anywhere on the drop down menus. When I run diagnostics itunes says no usb ports found when I have 4. I have already tried switching ports, resetting. I know its not the cord because the cord still works with my wall adapter.

Jun 25, 2014I've had my iPhone5s for about six months. It's had no power for some days since I lost my lightning cable - it's basically completely out of power. I've charged it once in the last week with a certified Apple lightning cable, but now it no longer responds to any cables at all.Â
I've tried with two different cables (neither are certified Apple cables, but both work well with their owner's iPhones) and the phone does not respond at all.
