Nexus 5 - hammerhead D821(H) 16GB
BL version - HHZ12h
BB version M8974A-2.0.50.2.26
Secure boot enabled
lock state unlocked
Today I got a "broken" nexus 5 that is in boot loop with the google logo and it wont boot into any .img
At the start i read the pinned posts and found this tutorial: [URL] ...
followed it step by step. but unfortunately it didnt work in my situation. there werent any errors or such kind. I also tried this tutorial with other images but nothing worked.
When i go to the recovery mode and press the power button the phone get into the google logo and i can see some sort of strange stripes in like a milisecond but then it just gets into the boot loop.
i really think ive tried everything accept for relocking the bootloader but cant imaging that this could be the problem.
I had been running cm 12 nightly for quite a while but wanted to try something new so I downloaded Dirty Unicorns rom and a Gapps pack. Drag and dropped both the zips into root directory, booted into cwm recovery mode, cleared everything, then installed the rom zip and then the gapps zip but it wont boot past the Google logo, I can only access recovery mode and I don't know what to do from here, is there anything I can do?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI given factory reset on my nexus 5 phone, its almost 45 minutes still it is showing erasing, is it a expected behavior, how much time it will take to reset?
View 1 Replies View Relatedupdating my Nexus 5 to marshmellow has left it stuck at the boot animation. I can get into recovery and have flashed factory 5.1.1 and 4.4.4 images but all that changes is the device loops with older boot animations. Kwongger's NEXUS 5 Toolkit v2.2 completed successfully but didn't improve anything. Trying to flash Cyanogenmod I run into adb "unauthorised". The device had usb debugging enabled and the RSA key of the PC was accepted but after multiple factory resets it appears to be gone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5, all up-to-date and stuff. Now recently when I was driving somewhere it turned off. Since then i haven't been able to turn it on again.
Without charger it doesnt even go on, With the charger it gets to the google logo and then reboots over and over again.
Fastboot just the same thing. Shows the fastboot GUI and reboots. Only with charger in.
Is this a hardware or software problem? I could try something on linux but if it's a hardware problem i'll just stop to try to find a solution.
My phone shut off unexpectedly today and now won't turn back on. When I try to power it on I see the Google logo for a couple seconds and then it'll just shut off again. I tried holding the volume up/down buttons to access the bootloader, but right after I get to the screen it just restarts itself again.
Connecting to power (AC or USB) causes it to constantly reboot over and over, it just shows the Google logo for a couple seconds and then restarts again.
About 10% of all times when I tried to simply lock or unlock phone (without double press for camera) camera launches with long vibration. Appeared about a week ago. Stock Android 6.0.1, latest camera app.

Bought a Nexus 5 about 6 months ago USED. It has been amazing. I got the latest OTA a week ago or so, not sure if that has anything to do with current issues.
About 2 days ago started randomly restarting. Today, it shut down and has been in continuous loop restarting. I see "Google" and maybe even the boot dots loading, then it is off. Three seconds later, starts again and repeats. Never makes it all the way into Android system. I let it sit for a while and when I pick it up, without touching any buttons, it repeats all of this. I suppose it is probably dead in general, but I don't know.
Never rooted, never messed with, always been stock,....
I have a Google Nexus 5, that has never been rooted.each time my phone is running out of battery (meaning nearly every day because I am using Waze, a GPS app, quite often), when Android is starting a message saying "Optimizing 1 of x.. apps" and this take a lot of time (sometimes more than 10 minutes). It happens since I upgraded to a previous version of Android but I don't remember which one as is it not the latest one. Now, my phone is running Android 5.1.1 build LMY48M.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy issue is that when I take a photo on my Nexus 5 and it is under around 60% of battery it shuts down, the screen just goes black (phone is complexly off and dead) and the device will not respond to ANY input until it is plugged into a power source, then it will boot up and function normally.
This issue occurred about two weeks after I installed Android 5 however I do not believe it is related due to factory resets, different roms and the issue is still persisting. When the problem started I had recently (a week or so before) moved to Germany, my initial thoughts were that the battery was the problem as when it first happened the phone rebooted and only had 5% left even though the device had around 50% before I took the photo, from then on the battery life was terrible so I purchased a new battery and installed it.
The battery problem was solved (battery life was normal) and when the phone crashed it didn't boot up with any difference to the percentage of battery that was remaining. I am now thinking that something to do with the change in power supplies damaged the device. I think this is unlikely though as Australia (where I am from) and Germany (where I was when the issue started) both run on 240V, the stock power adapter was used just with a euro adapter. I have tried to collect logcats however I can't see any errors before it cuts off (I'm no dev by any means so I could be missing something)...
Last thing is that this issue NEVER occurs when the device is charging so I'm thinking that it is a hardware problem. And of course the phone is out of warranty.
I'd there a way to quicken the time it takes to boot up the nexus 6?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new battery for my Nexus 5 due to issues I was having with my old one. When I put the new battery in, the device gets through the boot, but begins turning off as soon as the lock screen appears. Putting the old battery back in makes the device work fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 6 has random restarts about once per day. The most frustrating thing about it is that it takes 1:45 minutes (105 seconds) to reboot. It's the same length of time when I turn the phone off and boot it by hand. Is this normal? Can a few of you do me a favor and measure how long it takes on theirs?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI now have my nexus 5 over 8 Months and everything worked perfectly but since yesterday it stuck at the google logo. I don't mean the Boot animation, I mean the first logo which shows up after booting. After 3 seconds it shuts down and i get the same. Before this happened I just recently flashed PA Rom (4.5,3) and then afterwards the newest franco kernel by the Updater App.
First everything has worked very well, but then some strange things happened to my nexus. So it just has switched the Date and Time to 1970, Google now said it isn't supported in my country (even it is), whats app needed reauthentification and also didn't automatically recognized my county, my battery has dropped while charging from 12% to 39% within a minute and then the random reboots appeared. after the 4th one I suddenly landed at the point where I am now. I also tried lots of things like going into bootloader/ recovery and flashing an old factory Image but every time I try to it kicks me to the Google logo.
Recently, I was trying to replace old battery in my Nexus and something went wrong. The battery wasn't replaced but the phone didn't boot up. When unplugged, the phone didn't react at all (and I know that battery % was enough). When I plugged it in, the battery indicator showed up, disappeared after a second and it was happening in a constant loop (this appearing and disappearing). I tried to boot up the phone but only Google showed up and phone turned off and the battery indicator was again reappearing.
I managed to access fastboot but couldn't do anything more (when trying to enter recovery - same thing as with booting up). Flashed stock 6.0.1 and nothing changed. The phone was sent to LG but they said the warranty won't cover that and offered to replace motherboard for price around $230 which for me is a bit too high as for this quite old phone. They've sent me also this photo (URL...). Now I'm waiting for them to return the phone and maybe I'll try with another LG service.
Maybe symptoms are suggesting something and it can be easily fixed. Right now I can't do anything because the phone isn't back yet but when it's back before giving it to another service?
So recently for some reason my Nexus 5 gets stuck on the booting animation. I think it was updating to 6.0.1 or something but I'm not sure, because I just woke up one day and the phone wouldn't boot, and when it finally did it just gets stuck on the boot animation. I've tried to flash stock images and etc but I need an unlocked boot loader and for some reason if the phone doesn't boot completely after unlocking the bootloader, then it gets re-locked. So now my last option is to use the stock recovery to wipe data or something but when I go to the screen with the dead android guy, no combination of buttons seem to make the recovery options show up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I updated my Nexus 5 to android 6 via ota update notification. it seems it didn't download correctly. after a hour I power off my cellphone and after that it didnt boot again and still in page with android logo and ! red mark.
I tried to install ota update file via adb sideload but I got status 7 error.
After that I tried to solve status 7 with flash system.img's factory image file but when I type fastboot flash system system.img it still on <<waiting for device>> screen. How can I solve this problem. My datas are very important for me and I dont want to lost theme.
Today i started my Nexus5 and its loading one hour in the bootscreen and nothing happens. I started the Fastboot Mode but i dont know what i have to do. I dont want to lose my files but after my small research i red that i cant backup my stuff without a LOCK STATE -"unlocked". I'm right with that information? I never done anything like that before. Could i backup my data or is the only choice that i bring it to factory mode?

1.Can access fastboot mode
2.Cannot access recovery mode from fastboot : shows google logo and black screen (no inverted android)
3.When selecting Start from fastboot : only google logo appears and then black screen (not even the marshmallow boot animation)
Things Tried :
1.Phone was able to ring from android device manager. Tried erase from there. No response
2.Tried flashing the stock rom still no response.
What might be the issue ? Is the internal memory corrupted ?The phone boots up able to hear screen shot sound but still black screen..The LG customer care replaced the flex cable and it works now. It costs 1600INR (around 15$)
I have Nexus 5 with 5.1.1 (rooted+Xposed) everything worked well, smooth as butter until lately...
For some reason my dialer is very slow, Loading contacts in Dialer taking forever, if it's catced it is fine sometimes and pops up real fast like it should be... but in most cases when I launch it, I have to wait more than 20 seconds for my device to load my "Speed dial" list, and when I switch to "recents" or "contacts" tab, everything is empty, after a few seconds all contacts appear at once...
Very weird, I tried to delete recently added contacts and looking for special characters that maybe affecting or something, but no luck, I also disabled Xposed and its moduls and also unrooted, but didn't worked..
Nexus 5 taken a while to wipe cache partition? It takes a good minute or 2 on the nexus 5 but on the nexus 4 it takes 2 seconds. Both are running Android 4.4.2 the nexus 5 and the nexus 4.

So I have verizon and I'm using a nexus 6p. My phone died and I charged it and booted it back up.Problem was is I forgot my password. So since I'm rooted i went into twrp and tried my password there. it worked there but not on regular boot up. So i went into wipe and wiped everything. now when i go to reboot my phone it is stuck on the google logo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy N5 decided suddenly the other day to stop working. I held it, it turned off and on and then the boot animation just continued. I have googled and tried everything I can but it seems to go wrong someplace every time. I tried to wipe it from recovery mode but then it gave this as "error message".
