Finally got the chance to shoot some meaningful video instead of just little tests and noticed something annoying. While trying to focus on a batter in a baseball game from about 20 feet away, the subject kept going in and out of focus and when he ran the bases the same thing happened to an even greater extent.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI called moto this morning and told them the phone is awesome, but the camera can't focus on anything, and the video is jerky. The customer service guy told me he is sending the problem up the latter and is confident that it will be addressed with the next firmware update. He said there were a few people having the same problem. I'm not ready to get rid of this phone, but the camera/video camera are not on the same level with other 8mp/1080 p recording devices.

It attracted me a lot..but once i started using it...quality is just acceptable and the continuous auto focus is really annoying...even when nothing moves in the frame the camera just make it focus again and again...this makes some worst videos after all.

I want to convert high def .mov footage captured on my iPhone to a high def format playable on a TV or PS3, etc. (such as .mkv or .avi). For some reason today when i opened up my camera to take a few shots it had problem auto focusing on items close to me, as you know when you tap the screen to focus on a point in the screen you get the circle and a small beep to let you know it's focusing ok, it seemed to have problems getting to this point and there was an audible high pitched buzzing or clicking sound coming from the lens itself and the screen image would not come into focus
the phone has not been dropped or roughly handled so i am 100% sure it's not an issue caused by being knocked, i have tried a reset and a reboot but the issue still remains, also i have done no recent updates and there are none showing so that's not the issue either
I would like to know the difference between full and auto-focus cameras.How will be picture clarity of full focus compared to auto-focus.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to FaceTime with my iPhone 5, the rear camera continually moves from focus to out-of-focus. I'm FaceTiming with absolutely mad because the picture moves from blurry to clear almost constantly.
I had to replace my first iPhone 5 after only 15 months because the rear camera couldn't auto-focus anymore (a well-documented problem), and I had to pay for a replacement phone. Now after only 5 months with the replacement iPhone 5 I received from Apple it seems like I'm having more issues with the rear camera.
I really happy of with my brand new Xperia Mini. However I just noticed that when downloading the videos I took with it onto my PC, the creation date of the file is no more the date when I shot the video but the date and time when it was imported on the PC.Whatever the way I tranfer the video I lose the right date: either accessing via the Windows Filer Manager or via Media Go.Strangely enough there is no such issue with the pictures, where date and time are the right one.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been messing around with Selective Focus Mode while taking pictures. It gives very interesting results but I've had two issues:
1) I understand that taking pictures under this mode fails often and the camera can only take a normal picture (usually close focus). However, often times I am able to get the near and far zoom parts of the picture but the pan zoom option in the gallery won't light up and is not functional. Is this normal? If so, is it because it just can't stitch together the two focal points in a decent manner?
2) I downloaded a Selective Focus Picture in order to upload to the picture thread on these boards. However, when I click on it, the near zoom is all I see. Do I have to individually save each zoom in the gallery to view elsewhere. Androidcentral would just hang when I tried to download the original file.
The camera will not focus at all on the back. Selfie camera works great right away. After about a minute with the back camera, it will finally focus and work great. All films have been removed from the exterior lens of the camera, so I know this isnt the problem. Camera is on auto focus, too.

A fix for this which I've seen several places on the web is: "You have to clear the camera app cache if you want from your camera app to take good quality photos and to focus correctly. To do this go to Settings > Application Manager > All Apps and then find the Camera app. Click on it and clear cache. This is like a factory reset for your camera." However, When I go to Settings > Applications > Application Manager (I must take the extra middle step to get there; perhaps my phone is a later model), I do not see anything called All Apps and cannot find the camera app there.
The camera is really no good if all the pictures are out of focus.
I've had my Samsung Galaxy S6 since launch and everything has been fine up until the past few days or so when everytime I open up either the camera or snapchat, the phone makes a weird buzzing sound that only stops once I tap to focus. It makes the noise everytime I re-open the app, the camera also struggles to focus on occasions but is fine most of the time.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've had my S6 for nearly two weeks now, and I've noticed a strange trend when taking photos with the front camera. Things that are relatively up close such as my face end up being a tad blurry whereas everything in the background is nice, sharp, and detailed. No matter how I position my face in the shot, despite it recognizing my face, it just won't bring it into focus. After a few more shots, it doesn't look like the front is auto-focusing at all. I've checked all of the camera settings, and everything is defaulted except for Beauty mode which I have set to 0. How possible is it that this is a hardware defect?

I try to refocus by pointing it at a few things or touching the screen but it doesn't so anything. I haven't used the camera in a few weeks, could that be it? View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I took a video of me shooting a paper ball and slightly missing a trash can from my Galaxy S6 using the slow motion feature. I took that video and transferred it to my computer to edit it and put Chariots of Fire as the background music. I saved that file, keeping the exact same file type (MP4) and transferred it back to my phone. However, now when I view it on my phone, the video is the fraction of the size even though the dimensions still say 1280 x 720. When I press the full screen button, it enlarges but only vertically. I've tried converting it to H.624 and I'm normally pretty good at figuring this stuff out but I've hit a wall.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S6 edge on T-Mobile and juts noticed this morning that whenever I attempt to record a video I get a warning stating "The video codec is currently being used by other applications..."
Is it possible to determine which application has it in use? I've closed all running applications which didn't resolve the problem. Restarted the phone without starting any other applications before the camera and that failed. I'm not seeing any information about this issue in the couple of searches I've done so far but wonder if it's an isolated issue or something common.
Short of a Factory Reset, which I'm not fully opposed to doing, is there a potential solution?
So this just started today. I just unplugged my S6 from my charger, after charging it from heavy usage a few hours ago. I boot it up, and a minute later I notice that my battery has dropped by 2%. A few seconds pass and now the device was at 97%. I was puzzled and was wondering if my battery life was getting bad.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a weird issue that's been happening sporadically on my Verizon S6 (stock, 5.1).
On about 3-4 occasions now, I've turned off the phone at night, and the next morning, when turning it back on, I've experienced a loss in battery percentage. I.e., Charged phone to 100%, turned off phone overnight, turned on phone in the AM and battery percentage reads 75%.
Last night, it happened again, only I shut the phone off with about 75% battery. When I turned it on again this morning, my battery percentage had decreased to about 62%.
It's odd, and have never seen this before. This has only happened after the 5.1 update, so not sure if its related to that.
Why would a phone that is turned off be using battery power?
I have a S5 SM-G900F and since the last update 5.0 my phone keeps forgetting its a phone.When I try to make a call I am told that there is no service also I can not receive calls and the is no phone signal indicator at the top. If I restart my phone the signal indicator reappears and I can make a call with out a problem. Then at some point it will lose the signal indicator again and I can not receive calls or send them.After the phone has been restarted I get flooded with all the texts or missed calls I have had, one of these was an important call from my doctor

If I uninstall the app, when reinstall the app, every event has been reinstalled. I'm really getting upset.I know I can count on at least one of you for the solution.
