Galaxy S6 :: Why Text Messages Slow Or Frozen As MMS
Jun 11, 2015
the text messages seem to be frozen with the little blue circle working and just giving me the message "sending"..i haven't had this problem with other messages, only a few. the messages are not very long at all and no pictures or anything, just text messages.
When i was checking my emails on my Blackberry Torch 9880 the screen froze. During this time i know i got a text message (heard the text alert sound). My Blackberry automatically reset itself and when it had rebooted i had lost the previous 2 days worth of messages...including the new text which i was unable to read.
I'm having trouble with my text messages, using the stock Sense app. It seems that it is getting progressively slower as well. Whenever I touch the "To" field to add an addressee it takes a good 2 or 3 seconds for options to come up. Then after I press send, it can take another 2 or 3 seconds for the text to actually be sent. It is quite annoying given the horsepower under the hood and especially when I'm trying to send messages to different people rather quickly. I shouldn't have to wait on the app...there shouldn't be delays in getting a simple text message out.
Just recently when I click reply for a text message it takes between 10-30 seconds to start a new message. Then when I click the send button, it displays the "Sending Message" screen for about the same time, before finally sending the message. The phone was recently wiped by Nokia Care Centre because of a problem with text messages rebooting the phone. This issue is now occuring as well, but mostly at night?Any ideas as to what I can do to fix this? It has firmware 12.0.110 installed.
Has anyone noticed slowness with text messages? I was texting back/forth with a friend the other day and it was taking about 20 mins or so to get a reply.I noticed my 'delivery report' was between 5-10 mins to get the D for delivered.I started sending the times I was sending the messages and ask when they were received, which they were received right away however I would get the reply about 15 minutes later. Is there a known issue with text delay?
I like to keep an archive of all my text messages on the mem card of the W995, but find that even when about 500 messages are stored, the phone runs at a snails pace with any aspect of texting.when typing messages it takes 3-5 seconds for words to appear on screen ,etc.any ideas? My old C902 did not suffer from this problem at all
I got the Edge a month ago. I transferred across from an iPhone - using the Smart Switch app to transfer all of my data across as well.
Since the transfer, the messaging app freezes, becomes unresponsive or is incredibly slow (especially in text threads with a lot of messages in this). This means that the keyboard freezes, words/letters won't appear for a while after they have been typed, sometimes the keyboard doesn't appear at all, and the messages thread takes a long time to update.
What can I do about this? How can I stop my messages app freezing so often? I really enjoy the edge, but the fact that I can't message properly (or that it freezes/is so slow) is ruining the phone for me.
I've noticed that backing out of messages has been getting slower and slower over the past few weeks. Is there anyway of speeding things up? I just don't want to delete my messages and I can't imagine that slowing my phone down anyway..or could it?
We're talking 2 seconds from within a message to back out to the conversation...and then another 2 seconds to back out of the conversation to the home screen.
Got a Google voice number for ministry reasons, I'm able to now receive text from my friend, but just to the GV number and thru Hangouts, hey, it's just a bandaid but it's something
We've recently switched over from Sprint to AT&T (very relieved!) and ported our numbers. We upgraded from HTC Evo 4g LTE's to Galaxy s6's. I have one contact who is also on the AT&T network and for some reason cannot receive any texts from her, either SMS or MMS. She has an iPhone (not sure if 5 or 6). She can receive my text and reply, and it appears to her that they are sent but I never receive them. Here is what we have tried so far:
1. Contacted AT&T tech support. He rebroadcasted my number just in case. 2. AT&T tech checked that all three numbers were ported correctly 3. AT&T tech had me call my friend from my wife's phone and we all three had a convo via speaker phone and tested between my wife's phone and my friends phone, both SMS and MMS with pictures worked fine. 4. Checked that I didn't have her contact blocked in any way. 5. Tried having her turn off iMessage and text, nothing. Tried having her send as SMS, nothing. 6. We deleted each others contact and re-added, nothing. 7. I called AT&T porting (they have their own number) he checked and everything was ported correctly and finalized. 8. probably tried a couple of other things but to no avail
Other than this issue, the phones are fantastic, the network is fantastic.
How to change the video resizing the video quality so low when I text it because I record in 4k but when I text it, it changes to like 360p or something like that and you can't even see anything. .
I just got the galaxy s5..I am receiving some duplicate text messages, I cannot figure out why! Not every single message comes through twice, just some of them. Also some of my sent ones are showing up twice on my phone (not twice to the recipient though). I have tried to search online and cannot come up with a resolution.
I am not receiving message notifications when I receive a new text messages on my Samsung Galaxy S5. How can I change this so it shows new messages on home/lock screen?
I need to print a series of text messages from an individual, to take to court. What is the best way to do this. I backed up to phone via Kies and S-Connect, however I can't find the file that holds the text messages.
My Samsung Galaxy S5 will notify me I have a text and it shows up in the task bar. I can pull the task bar down to read it. After I close the task bar it's like the text never existed. The text does not show up in the messages app either.
I have tried clearing out the memory and several reboots. I also installed a virus protection program in case it was that. I went back to the plain messages app from the messenger plus, that did not do the trick either. Nothing seems to work.
So I bought my S5 a few months ago, from T-Mobile. Recently, I unlocked the phone and switched over to AT&T. Now I've noticed that I'm not receiving all of my text messages. I can't figure out any real pattern, I just know that I'm not getting all of the texts people are sending me, but most of them are going through. Also, I've received several messages reading "122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. 0605040710000041637469766174653A64743D3135" ....
My wife's text messages from her mom (iphone) get split up. I think it's only from her mom's phone because I just sent her a long one and it came in as one message.how to fix this?
I noticed that I had two text messages of a random string of characters sent to a random number. I think I have noticed this before but never paid it any attention. Do you think an app is using text messages to communicate with a server or something?
My current text messages are being combined with old text messages, creating messages that don't reflect what I sent. The recipients of my texts are very confused....as am I when I get there response.
I have recently changed to a Samsung Galaxy s6. I have a friend who has the s4 and every time i text her she does not receive my texts. I do receive her text messages fine it' s just when i send a message she doesn't receive it. I am able to call her fine.
I got a Samsung Galaxy S6 and I have to say, it's the worst cellphone I ever owned. I don't care about all the fancy stuff. I need a phone so people can call me and send me text messages. But that simply doesn't work. I never get phone calls nor text messages, when I restart the phone, I got tens of messages telling me about missed phone calls.
My Galaxy S6 has been great except for one huge problem I've noticed. Random text messages disappear. And they don't just disappear inconspicuously.. they disappear AS I'M READING THEM.
I will get a message, open up the messaging app, start reading it, get halfway through it, and BAM, the message vanishes and it never comes back.
Restarting the phone doesn't bring it back, it's just gone. I know that some messages disappear because I SEE them disappear, but what gets me is how many messages have a missed that have been sent, and my phone just makes them vanish before I read or even notice them?
Here's a video showing a message disappearing on my Galaxy S6.
I am having troubles with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925W8 running Android 5.1.1. Ever since I upgraded to 5.1.1 I have sometimes been unable to receive text messages. This never used to happen with the older version of software I ran when I first got my device, and it is becoming rather annoying.
At random times I cannot receive text messages, and I have found the only way to 'spur' my device to receive messages would be to sending one. But this can be rather tedious, because if I haven't received a text in a while I'm not sure if it's my phone acting up again (so I must send a random text to try and download the waiting texts) or I just genuinely have not received a text.
