I installed 5.1.1 on my German S6 which is not rooted and use Nova as my launcher. Whenever I unlock my phone, S6 directly launches some random app (mostly S planner or maps or Playstore) though I didn't open them before locking the phone.I have cleared cache in recovery several times but the problem is still there which is little annoying...
View 2 RepliesSometimes I unlock my phone and the screen remains black, then the phone reboots but weirdly it doesn't ask for the SIM pin number. Other times I notice the phone reboots by itself and I notice it because obviously the screen lights up during the boot animation. This happens very rarely, so far it has happened about 3 to 5 times in a couple of months but it's still mega annoying when it happens.

And don't tell me to factory reset, I already did that less than a month ago and it happened anyway. Factory resetting is just a huge waste of time 99% of the time especially if you are not rooted.
I came from a note 2 to the s6 and never once had a problem with the phone unlocking in my pocket but it keeps happening with my s6 and it's opening apps and texting and calling people. I don't want to have top set a lock code or anything of I don't have to. If there was a way to stop the phone from lighting up when I get a text I don't think it would unlock but I can't find an option to turn it off.

I tried to wipe partitions, make a factory reset, format partitions, flash stock 1 file and stock 4 files (with pit file inside). Sometimes the phones freezes and I need to restart it, sometimes it's rebooting by himself. When I'm working with it about a minute, apps start crashing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know if any of you noticed that when entering the Camera app. The display will change to a different display mode even though you are not on "Adaptive display mode"
It happens in a split second upon launching the camera app and upon exiting, you will notice it reverts back to the current display mode you are using. In my case Basic.
I also noticed this only during my recent update to OG8 firmware (Stagefright) update... not sure if it does it before also.
I'm new to xperia x10 mini pro, I've had quite a tough time getting some things done easily, all sofware I've downloaded have been installed on the phones memory, and the phones memory is full. I have an 8 gig SD card but how to install my apps directly on the SD card. I am using android version 2.1.

-First, is there a way that I can whitelist some apps where I'm not worried about an intruder accessing them, so that I can use them via "Ok, Google" without having to go through my unlock process (sort of like how you can accept a phone call without unlocking). Examples would be Shazam or Phillips Hue, where I want quick access without hassle.
-Second, what I REALLY want is the ability to modify my lock screen to have a couple app shortcuts or widgets on it, but I heard that google deprecated this in one of the 4.x releases for some reason. Is there a way to get this functionality back?
What 3rd party apps from the google play store to unlock the home screen? It gets a little annoying having to hit the power button every time I want to unlock the phone.

The problems I am experiencing are that all sony default apps crashing and some other apps aswell. Apps that have crashed are; the contacts app, the messenger app (not facebook), the homescreen app, the album app, the walkman and the movies app.
When they crash I get a message saying Unfortunately "app name", has stopped. The only way to make the app working again is to reset the phone. This happens quite often which is surprising since the phone is new and its a flagship device.

The second problem I am experiencing is the phone randomly resetting itself, this happens about once per day. I believe the reason for the random resets are the crashing apps. I think that because when I was using my phone all apps suddently crashen, then the phone just reset itself twice before it was usable again.
About half the time, when I unlock my phone, it opens a random app. Started with Google Play. I disabled. Then it was Google Music. I disabled again. Then it was Audible. I disabled. Now it is Amazon. I changed lock screen, disabled apps, checked settings.

Just the standard Gallery App that came default. If I wanted to go through my pictures and delete certain ones, then how? I can hold down on some pics and tag/select. There is a SHARE button on there but nothing else. No editing, No rotate option, no print, no move options. NOTHING.

The problem i'm having is when i do this sometimes it just locks the phone. Screen turns off, and nothing happens. I will then press the home button and it unlocks and goes straight into the app as if i had unlocked it the first time.
I'm running as stock as you can get on the S6. Not even a theme. I can't seem to recreate the issue at will, but it does happen often but randomly.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI currently have the Galaxy S6 dual sim version bought from a local network. It seems that although the second sim (whether in slot 1 or slot 2) can be used for SMS and calls, it CANNOT be used for mobile data.
I've tried flashing a supposedly OPEN LINE stock firmware (XTC brand, version 5.0.2) to try and open up both slots for mobile data, but although the phone firmware definitely updated, the second sim still is locked out from being used for mobile data. APN settings are locked for the second sim, again whether it was in slot 1 or slot 2.
Will flashing a different firmware (NOT FROM our country) work in unlocking the mobile data access? Will I have issues if the CSC comes from another country while I use this phone here at home?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while (has happened 2 times in as many weeks) the phone or dialer APP will suck battery and throw off my typical discharge time WITHOUT me ever placing a call (let alone opening the phone interface). For example, as shown in the attached, I'm down almost 70% on just 19 hours and change of use, with just 2.5 hours of screen on time, with the phone app draining 7% without any phone usage. Typically, I can make it 24+ hours with 4+ hours of screen time on that level of battery drain.
Aside from those instances, battery has been great on L. Used to get, typically, about 26 hours before charging at 25%. Now, I consistently get 29+ hours on the same usage.
I've got a Razr Maxx and over the past 3 days, my phone has been sounding the Highwire ringtone for some unknown reason randomly and sometime 5 or 6 times in a row. There's no message corresponding, no notifications. Just random alert sounds and i don't have Highwire set to any apps or alerts.I don't really want to remove the 10 apps or so i've installed in the past few days, i'd rather get down to the source of the problem

Question is is there a way to have fingerprint n pattern unlock working simultaneously? I want the fingerprint for myself and for a few friends who use my cell they could use the pattern cos the backup password is to annoying to type otherwise
I have set up smart lock except once I swipe on the home screen across the padlock, I still have to use my finger print to unlock. Does smart lock not override the finger print lock?

I ran Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock after rooting using ODIN etc - I put in the unlock code and it said unlock successful. After putting in my Orange SIM and switching on, I am getting the network error symbol and am unable to make calls. (Interestingly, I do get the Orange SIM Plus app icon on the phones desktop. Also, the phone still boots with the 3 logo - was expecting this to have disappeared completely!).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a S6 from Amazon, but the device is branded with Swisscom, with an awful boot logo and sound, and a few specific apps. I'm waiting for a nano sim, so for now I don't know if the phone is also simlocked.
I intend anyway to install custom roms, so I don't care much about this, however I can't find out whether the bootloader is locked or not (in which case, I'll have to send it back to Amazon I guess).
The device is a SM-920F, I made the OTA update to 5.1.1 upon powering it. Not sure what the bootloader and rom exact versions are, but I will add them to the post if necessary.
