Galaxy S5 :: Flashlight Command Not Working On Google App
Sep 30, 2015
I noticed today that when I say OK Google, Flashlight On, it searches for flashlight apps again instead of flipping the flashlight toggle in the Google app. It was working a few days ago (Monday I believe) just fine. I haven't updated my app recently and have the most recent version. I have reverted back to the original and reupgraded, still no luck.
On the most recent version of the google app i'm getting force closes when I do a "navigate" command for example "navigate home" if I uninstall updates this no longer happens. This command is working fine on my other devices.
Stock Rooted, Canadian S6 (non edge).... Flashed to stock and rerooted. Everything seems fine now.
Am I the only one experiencing problems with ok Google while my phone is locked? Google simply will not open and carry out commands from a locked screen. It refuses to set timers and it won't even turn on the flashlight. I have selected personal options in settings and I also have 5.1.1. I was hoping the update would fix the issue.
So I've had the LMY78I build of 5.1 for a couple weeks now. Everything was awesome. Now, my flashlight shuts itself off at random when I'm using it, and I can't get it back without a reboot. Issue 2: my Google Play Music crashes, still. Well, not really a crash. More like its freezing. I open the app and half the time, the last song playing, that's supposed to be @ bottom of screen, is not there. So I have to go into Settings>Apps>Google Music Player, force stop it, then it works just fine again. One other thing I found very odd with my phone...not an issue, just an observation. A few days after installing the update OTA, my remaining ROM/drive space went from a lowly 2.4GB all the way up to 5.5GB free. Nothing was deleted At All. I mean, I cleared the cache for a few apps, but not 3GB worth!
Running LMY48M. I am trying to enter recovery mode to wipe cache and all I get is the stupid robot on his back saying no command. I have tried volume up and power button no menu comes up... Phone is starting to have some quirks and figured I would try wiping cache before anything else.
My phone stuck on the circles dots that spins i gave it like 30 mints and nothing, when i try to plug it in the PC i dont have the drivers and when i try to get in the recovery mode i get the no command massage....
I went into recovery and rebooted, still get the "no command" screen. Factory reset didn't fix it either.
I got into fastboot and ran the flash-all from an image I got from Google and got "'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
I just updated to lollipop on my european moto x 2014 and then I tried the flashlight toggle, and it was working just fine. However after using the flashlight the camera doesnt work anymore. I just get a error message. Camera has unfortunately stopped. I have even flashed the stock kitkat firmware and it still wasnt working..
I Synced my phone and afterward my flashlight and flash won't work. Have tried tired reset with home and sleep button. Have switched it off completely, reset in setting and even backed up and restored via iTunes. I haven't dropped or wet my phone at all. I really would like to think it is a software problem not something wrong with the hardware !!!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop 5.0 Verizon. I want to add a Flashlight. There are many on the play store. I could just try them myself, but to save time, I thought I'd ask you all which one you use
I've had my phone since black friday, and just yesterday started having a strange problem with it. It was in my pocket and it vibrated once so I checked what it was and it said "MTP initialization" at the top and "Charging" at the bottom, which is what it does when I plug it into my computer or charge it. It seemed weird to me because it definitely wasn't plugged into anything at all, it was in my pocket. When I got home, I plugged it into the charger for about 2 hours.then when I unplugged it, it did the same thing, but it kept doing it. It'd look like I plugged it into my computer when I didn't, and then a few seconds later the "charging" and everything would go away and it would say "Running Media Scanner" which is what it says whenever I unplug it from the computer. Since that time yesterday, it has literally been doing this every few seconds, cycling between thinking it's plugged into a computer and then being unplugged. In addition, for a while yesterday, the Voice Command kept opening and closing on it's own, not sure why. It seems to have stopped doing that now, but it keeps doing the charging/media scanning thing. I can actually use it when it's doing this thing, it just keeps vibrating every few seconds which gets annoying, and slows the phone down a little bit. But when the voice command thing kept opening and closing every few seconds, it was almost unusable because every time I'd try to do something, it'd cut out and go to the voice command.
My OK Google has stopped responding when the screen is locked. If I say OK Google I get the beep I ask a question ex, "What is the current temperature" it beeps again but will not answer until I unlock the screen. I has worked great previously but for some reason it no longer will give me an answer until I unlock the screen.
Today after having my beloved Samsung Galaxy 6 for over a month, the finger print scanner didn't recognize my finger print. I don't have a back up password (or if i do i don't remember it) so I just typed in something so i could sign in with my google account. I typed in my correct email and password but its saying my password is invalid. I know its not invalid because I just used it on my computer. So now i really stuck..what do i do? Do i just wait and go into a mobile store?
For the past week or so (maybe longer), I've noticed I can't get Siri to capitalize words by saying "cap" before the word. For example, if I want to type: Let's go to the Ravens game! I'd say: let's go to the cap ravens game exclamation point Siri gives me: Let's go to the cap ravens game! I figured it was just a fluke, but it's consistent. I've been trying all day and not gotten it to work even once.
Previously when using Vlingo Voice Command in "Driving Mode"... When asking the phone to make a call it would do so and automatically use speaker phone... Since the update to ICS I now have to switch the speaker phone on manually (Even when using Voice Command Driving Mode).. This now means my phone is not hands free
I have a really weird problem that randomly started and just keeps getting weirder and more annoying. I was watching YouTube via the app on a very unreliable WiFi connection, and received a number of "playback error, tap to retry" messages (pretty normal on this particular network) so I didn't think much of it. When I got home, however, the messages and errors continued, so I cleared YouTube's cache, which did nothing. I then cleared data, it asked me to sign into Google again, and it did, but the errors continued. I then noticed in my notifications that I had some app updates available from the play store, and that's when the problem got stupid.
Play store hung on the spinny loading circle, so I cleared its cache and data and then it hung on the first update. Soooo, I cleared cache, then data, on Google play services. Now, not a single damn Google app does anything. Google play music shows my two google accounts to set up with, clicking either of them does nothing. YouTube plays videos linked from other apps, but can't search or browse, just has a the red nav bar and blank white space with the spinny. Play store doesn't work. Inbox doesn't refresh, you get the idea. And somehow, Facebook started not connecting at the same time as everything else. Not sure if its related or not, but it sure is frustrating. Chrome works fine. Other apps that connect to the internet work fine. Just google apps and Facebook.
The Google search widget isnt working as well as holding the home button to open now. I type in my search, get the loading icon, it disappears like it's done loading but it's blank. No error messages. Can't find any "google now" or "Google search" in app manager.
I just flashed the nexus 5 official image for android 6.0; I have used adb and fastboot and I flashed everything but the userdata.img (as I did with all previous updates). Everything looks fine with the exception of google now on tap: if I long press the home "button" it only takes me to the regular google now page.
The google app is version 5.3 (which is supposed to enable on tap), I tried both google now launcher and nova, but the result is always the same, standard google now page with no content relevant to the page/app I was in. Is it expected ? do i have to enable it somehow?
Is there a way to program the flashlight to launch instead of Quick Memo with the volume Up button from a locked screen? I found an app that will do that, but it disables the volume down button, which I use regularly for photos (brilliant job, LG!)
