BB Bold :: Connected To WiFi But Can't Browse Internet
Dec 28, 2011I got my Bold 9780 about 2 weeks ago and since then have been connected to Wi-Fi and have had no problem browsing the internet. Then earlier, all of a sudden, it stopped working. I am connected to my router with full signal strength and can't do anything in the browser. I just don't understand why it stopped working.. but I am still connected to Wi-Fi.

Jul 1, 2010my blackberry storm 2 (9550) recently just took a splash of water and as you all might now, water can easily get in due to the spaces bordering the screen. So far my blackberry is working perfectly fine despite one major thing, the browser. It shows that I am connected to my home network, though when I try to load a page it shows the error message, "Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later." My guess is that the water effected the circuit board?

Jun 3, 2010I recently purchased a 9700 bold, I have the blackberry personal bundle (unlimited web and text). I attempted to set it up on my home network via WiFi. After changing my network to WEP (because for some odd reason WAP wasn't supported?) I tried doing the PIN thing didn't work, and the push key on my router, ended up just changing to WEP and entering the huge code.
It's all connected and everything shows little WiFi thing on the desktop (not main menu) right when I click the browser it opens up my home page still showing WiFi, go to another website, boom goes to edge?! loads slow, my network should be faster than 3g easily. Why can't it use my WiFi to browse the web at home? I get poor reception and I have no idea why it would use EDGE instead. Also I tried to download application world off of RIM's website, along with the AIM client both gave me 404 errors saying the file wasn't available.

It says the name of the network on the top of my home screen and it also says you have successfully connected to the router. But when I go to the browser I get "403 Forbidden, try another page" I don't understand why this doesn't work. It's very frustrating. I traveled abroad always with the mobile network off and just using the wifi and it worked perfectly. Apr 19, 2012My iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

Mar 30, 2010I've just got my new Nokia X6 a few days ago, and thought I'd play around a little with it. I then spotted an issue where I wasn't able to browse the internet (or any other internet application for that matter) without disconnecting the WiFi connection every time I want to load a new website or load a new page in the Ovi Store. The Router I am using is only running 54 Mbps, and I'm now using it with the password disabled, just to try if that changed anything, it didn't. I havn't been able to try using a 3G connection yet, as my service provider has somehow failed at supplying me with it at the moment.
