View 2 Replies View RelatedOur wireless at work has a mac table setup with unique keys so anytime someone forgets/otherwise screws up their wifi connection they come to have it reset... Everytime I make a comment about how they are really only draining their battery by leaving wifi enabled 24/7 yet they continue to do it..
SO - what do you use WiFi for?
I know there are some (very, very few) apps that require a wifi connection..
Facetime requires WiFi but at this point it's more of a novelty than anything else..
Throughput is a little better but not enough to justify the additional battery drain..
The hotspot app (as soon as the IP4 jailbreak is released..)
Checking mail/browsing the net in an area with no at&t service..
That is all that comes to mind.. I think they just like to enable it because they can, but let me know if I'm missing anything?
So the last few days I've had problems with WiFi disconnecting and reconnecting over and over and thought that was the cause of my battery draining tons faster then normal, used to last at least most if not all day with pretty constant use and now it's barely making it 5 hours without needing a charge. Att pushed the 4.4.4 update today and after turning the WiFi smart switch back off the WiFi problem seems to be better but my battery is still draining, just not quite as fast.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOk seriously... this is BS [exscuse my language] but this is my second Blackberry Curve 8900 and second battery and I've only had blackberry for 11 months. The first 8900 the battery started draining rapidly after 4-5 months and kept deleting everything on my microSD card. I had it replaced... now this second 8900 is doing the same thing. I've had the second 8900 for 4 months. I charged it all night, took it off the charger at 7am; by the time i was out of class it was red and going dead at 10am!
I do not have wifi on, no bluetooth... and also, it pings [like I've gotten a new text or email], the LED light will flash red but there won't be a message or missed call!
Anyone have this issue too? I am having it replace for the second time, this will be my 3rd blackberry 8900. If I have issues and problems again, I will have to say goodbye to blackberry. Even though I love everything about BB, the style, the keypad and so forth, I need something that won't die on me after 4-5 months!
I bought my device 2 days ago, and based from my observation, my battery life doesnt last that long.. I was an iOS user before I switched to Sony.. I can tell the difference of battery life.. wherein Sony should have more battery life than iOS phones.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded my iPhone4S from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1. Since then I observerd my battery is draining rapidly when internet connection is active either WiFi/3G. Even the phone is kept idle without using anything, under settings->usage its showing as used (Usage Time & standby time both are increasing) When internet connection (WiFi/3G) is kept off, battery backup is good and settings->usage is showing only the actual iPhone usage only. But with internet battery drains very rapidly almost 20% for an hour or so.

I have Blackberry Torch 9810 and I have recently upgraded my phone to the updated OS 7.0 Bundle 2406. After this update, the mobile battery is longing approximately for one day only.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince updating my E71 to v500, and then to v510 just recently, I have been suffering from terrible battery life when the phone is connected to a WiFi access point. I'm sure it's not a hardware problem, as I noticed it as soon as I first updated to v500. If I leave the E71 connected to WiFi, my battery will be flat in just a couple of hours and the phone is noticeably hot to the touch. I initially thought it may be the battery being a problem, so I bought a new one but still exactly the same.
On another point, the Podcasting application is now terribly slow. I wish I would have never updated from V300, which was fine. I've tried reinstalling the F/W a few times, and not restoring from a backup, but still the same problem. I also read in another thread that someone deleted the Lotus Notes application, and it fixed this problem, but alas, has not done so for me.
Got my Torch last weekend and this morning I get the message that the device is low on memory and showed a list of 7 apps I could choose to delete. (deleted 2, mobile banking, social feeds) Also, the little timer icon randomly pops up while the device is on and I am doing nothing. My battery has also be draining it big time. After less than 6 hours off the charger and light usage I am down to 10% battery life.I have done several battery pulls. After reboot, my Application storage shows 312.1 mb free space. My media card has 3GB free, which should not matter. The only downloaded apps I have are basic:
Google Mobile App
Google Maps
ESPN
CNN
The Weather Channel.
Battery is now down to 9% as I type this. What is going on? This should not be happening. I have never had a problem from my 9700 or 8310 previously.
I have tried taking the battery out to reset it and I also closed open apps I am not using but nothing seems to work.My phone has drained its battery 3 times already today and I only charge it when the battery is super low which is usually 1-2 days. I only use the phone for personal use and do not have a lot of apps on it.All this started last night out of the blue. It was fine all day yesterday. It is also constantly timing out. I will type a BBM to someone and every 3 words, I see the little clock ticking Lastly, I noticed while I was talking on it a few minutes ago, it got really hot which I haven't noticed before (I had it plugged in since it's not keeping a charge). Is this related to the recent issues or does this mean my phone is done? I have only had it a year and my husband who uses his way more than I do usually has his for 2 years.I think this info shows in my profile but if not, I am on AT&T, I have the 9800.

My battrery has been running low quickly . For instance, I charged it yesterday and when it was done charging I made a phone call. I was on the phone for about 11/2 minutes. After I got off I looked at my battery and it was down 1/2 a brick. I've tried removing the battery for awhile, but it doesn't seem to help. I talk on it a lot through the day so I can understand it needing charged at night, but 1 minute off the charger and it's already losing power? I don't use the internet that much, but I do play games. The phone is about a month old. Any advice?
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy g4 that was overheating with a new phone. I thhought this was great, except that within a few hours of use this new phone also began getting crazy hot and draining my battery to near 0. It gets so bad that when the battery gets below 5 % it wont even charge unless i power the phone completly off. Never had an issue the first 5 months i had it.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've noticed a weird behavior with my E75 (sw ver 202.12.01).Sometimes the battery gets drained from full to nough over one night, sometimes the phone will last a few days on one charge.I have a culprit nominee and it's the GPS data application, which doesn't really quit. Sure, it exits, it doesn't appear in the Running apps list, but the GPS lock comes in surprisingly fast (in a second or two) so I guess it never really quits.
I have charged my phone and rebooted so that the GPS data doesn't get in the way, and I'll see how it goes. But I am already pretty convinced.
My device battery draining so first. Its like 2/3 hours on screen time but stand by time is fair (like day long). Using lolipop 5.0.1 ... If it shows last 3 hour use 9% means last 3 hour screen time was zero.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I am having battery draining issues with the iPhone 4S just like I had with my iPad 2 (I am guessing that it has something to do with my operating system in both cases). I restored my iPad 2 and it is working fine, but since I bought my iPhone 4S through Verizon, if I restored it back to original settings, would I have to take it back to Verizon to do that?Or is there a better solution to the problem?

I've checked the usage status and it say 5 usage (only used about 3-4 hours) and 8 hours standby(Ive let it unattended on standby more than it shows). Is this normal? What is the averages usage and standby time?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI took my iPhone4 into the Apple store so they can look at the battery issue I think I am having. Here is a screen shot of the performance of the battery before my visit.
They said the phone needed to be reset to a new phone because I initially choose to use the backup of my last iPhone when I initialized and there is probably a software problem which is draining your battery faster.
Me: Well, Ok. But can you please run a diagnostic on the phone before we reinitialize.
Apple: No. There is noting wrong with the batter, this is a software problem.
Me: Ok.
So this next screen shot is after using the phone after initializing as a factory reset.
I am not seeing any difference in the performance if anything it is a little worse.
Do you all think I have a problem or is this normal performance for the iPhone4 battery? Apples website claims the phone should be standby 300hours, internet, 10hours.
I haven't been doing any heavy use just normal internet use, some angry bird action and a couple video shots.
What type of performance are you all having?
Just slightly but I can notice it. Iphone 4. Not using it more or anything. Any possible causes?

Recently i have noticed my blackberry battery draining quickly (from fully charged) and only lasting roughly 5/6 hours, not even lasting a full day. The battery has only just started draining this quickly as since i got it (november 2011) as it was a replacement it would last roughly 1 and a half days without charging. I mainly use my phone for bbm, calling, texting and internet. And i close down any active applications that doesnt need to be open.
Few days ago i bought a new battery but its still no change
Had my Curve for a couple of years now. In just the last couple of weeks, it's starting to drain a battery in 4 hours or so with moderate use. And it's the same whether I'm using the old or one of my new batteries, so it's obviously not the battery itself. Even if I don't use it, it'll go to red in 6-8 hours, where it used to hold a charge for a couple of days, even with heavy use. I've checked the terminals and they're clean.
