BB Software :: Can't Access Internet Or Social Networks
Jul 30, 2010
I have a blackberry bold 9000, and it is unlocked. Ive used it with other carriers before and my bbm and gchat and internet used to work, however I have switched to Koodo, and have a data plan, however my blackberry will not connect to the internet, nor any of the social networks. I have called the carrier numerous times, with no luck they said I need to contact blackberry for technical help. Is there anyway someone could fill me in on what the problem is, because on the carriers end they say the services are active.
i added my Internet account to the "social networks" apps but i get the error that is not able to synchornize.i removed the account and added it again and keep getting the same error...i also encounter the problem with picasa, but not everytime.
I just want to mention that I have the same problem with my new C7... someone mentioned there may be a mistake in the "server address" which the application is trying to connect to (an old beta server, instead of the new one). If that's true, that's too bad... is there no one doing quality control on software releases at Nokia? In all cases... I hope Nokia will soon wake up ;-) It's monday, isn't it... there must be someone coming at the office today...
When I go to setting>About Phone>System Updates, it replied with "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later". I lasted for a month until now.
my phone automatically did the update a few days ago and rebooted and ever since then I have been unable to access my FB account and connect to the internet on my phone. I've got the buttons unchecked that say to connect only when wifi available, so I don't know what's going on.
Having owned the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for a couple of months or so, I must say that I really like the phone and it has great functionality. My main concerns/issues however are outlined below:
1. Facebook for Nokia app is slow, does not show all of the functions that m.facebook.com shows and isn't a homescreen widget (e.g. push notifications)
2. Communities app is even slower and again does not have the functionality of m.facebook.com and doesn't show notifications at all!
3. The Nokia Messaging app insists on connecting to 3G all the time, rather than a wifi connection when available. I've also experienced intermittent issues when trying to connect (sometimes it stays offline and even selecting 'Go online' doesn't wake the program up).
4. Default web browser keeps crashing and doesn't support larger websites (I experience intermittent crashes as well as memory issues). I do not receive such issues in Opera Mobile. I also dislike the defaulting to full screen mode all the time. If you turn full screen off, as soon as you navigate to a different page it goes back to full screen again, therefore increasing the activity on the phone and it takes longer to load the page before you can scroll or click another link.
I think I've covered all of my main concerns but in essence this device really needs better app support and social networking integration.I would be grateful if I could be given an update on if/when we can expect to receive such support. If anyone else agrees, please indicate below along with any additional feature requests relating to this topic.
Does the 5230 have the functions to access my wireless router? It would be nice to be able to access the web and such when home to download stuff at high speed over my cable internet.
I recently deactivated my Blackberry Bold 9000 (v4.6.0.304 operating system) from AT&T since I ported my cell phone number to US Cellular who had better coverage in my region. I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."
I have a Nokia E63 on 3, it reports its symbian software version as 200.21.012. My wireless router is a Netgear DG834PN. It has a WPA2-PSK key code set up, and my laptop works fine with the wireless. It is set up to use DHCP, has MAC address filtering turned OFF. The network is public (not set to hidden). If i try to connect my nokia E63 to the wireless then when i try to access the internet, it gives an error stating ' no gateway reply'. Power Saving is disabled. I have tried setting the IP address manually and still it gives the error. I have also tried re-setting the router, to no avail. The only way i got it to work was by disabling all security on the router (making it an open network) which, whilst this is fine for testing, i do not want to run it as an open network, it must run with WPA2-PSK security.
I've got a small problem. I'm trying to access the internet on my laptop through the e63 and it doesnt work.I connect both things with a usb cable, click "Connect PC to web" then the software starts and says "Preparing your Nokia e63" and then it says "Currently there's no network available". What do I do wrong? I have unlimited internet on the phone with Three.co.uk and it works fine, but on the phone only. Please help
It seems I can't get into app world via only wifi. I tried turned off the mobile network, because I don't have a data plan. I can browse any website when I just use wifi, but I can't get into app world.

I recently upgraded to a Blackberry Curve 8520 from T-Mobile. I am at my wits end. I have a $9.99 unlimited internet plan with T-Mobile. I have gone through several websites trying to find the APN settings to use with the Blackberry Curve. I have found several of them, but none of them seem to be working. Can anyone out there tell how can I go about this? Honestly, I do not want to pay T-Mobile the $30.00 a month they are asking for access.

I switched my blackberry pearl for a bold 9700 I am with fido pay as you go I have the data plan and I can't access the internet. With my bold 9700 I called fido and they told me I had to call blackberry.

I just bought nokia C3-00 and now suffering from a problem.
Problem: Default browser works but any other apps like opera mini, facebook chat, ovi store etc doesn't works, it says network problem ( can't connect).
I have Airtel GPRS..and i don't use airtel live account, i use mobile office account.
I have bought a C2-01 phone for use away from my home country and wish to disable all access to the internet as it would be extremely expensive. In Menu/Settings/Connectivity/Packet Data/Packet data conn./ I only have 2 selections "When needed" or "Always online", what is missing is "Never". The trouble is there are lots of internet accessing options within the phone menu system that use the internet and if you accidentally select one it will go "online" without asking.
I'm trying to use my E52 as a modem. I connect it to the PC, I select internet access. The installer comes up, I install the software. Unfortunately, Nokia PC Internet Access says it could not find a Nokia device connected to the PC. (**bleep**, you were installed from it, right now.) If I reconnect E52 to the PC, Nokia PC Internet Access has a completely black window. It pops up another window "Updating..." saying "Installer has found some installed components which are older than those in device's memory. There components will be updated." The progress bar remains at 0% and nothing happens. Cannot even cancel the installation.
