BB Desktop Software :: Desktop Manager For Mac Error Message KB19454
Feb 17, 2010
I am new to the community and would appreciate any assistance. I have two recent problems for which I am seeking troubleshooting advice. The priority problem is mentioned first below.I've just encountered this error message, "For help resolving this issue, refer to KB19454 in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager Knowledge Base" when attempting to sync my Curve 8320. I use a Mac, and I haven't run into any difficulties syncing since downloading the newer version of the Desktop Manager for Mac in Dec/Jan. I haven't been able to download the latest update though. I did see an early post by someone with the same difficulty, but I was unclear of the question posed, and thus I am hopeful for potential suggestions for resolution. The additional problem I've recently experienced is that I can't compose an SMS/MMS message. I can only reply to someone's message. When I try to simply send one, the screen defaults back to the list of messages. Please Note: I do not have wireless on my phone. I utilize Blackberry Desktop Manager Version 1.0.1 .Please also note that I am not able to access electronic messages daily but will attempt to return any responses/inquires as quickly as possible.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
Hi when i want to sync my 9700 i am always getting the same unkown error message..DTM is version is 5.0.1.37 The 9700 is up2date as far as dtm is telling me.
I installed Companion Link because I had problems syncing with Outlook 2010 64x. Companion Link sync works okay, but each time I start the Desktop Manager I get that annoying message. Desktop Manager somhow thinks that it still has to do something with Outlook. Either there is no default mail client or!
I've tried a clean uninstall and reinstall the Blackberry Desktop Software version 5.0 and keep getting this message Desktop Mgr exe: Application error - Instruction at "0x004e6535" referenced memory at "0x04480013". The memory could not be read.
When I am trying to add/remove applications using Desktop Manager, I get the error message:Validation failed because a module marked for update (net_rim_bb_qm_api) is not available on local disk. How do I fix this? I am running a 9650 and have Desktop Manager for Mac.
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
I've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?
I, stupidly, recently upgraded to the new DM v6 when prompted to do so.Since then, I have not been able to prevent emails arriving wirelessly when my BB is plugged into the software.I WANT THAT ABILITY BACK! Ok, I realise I may be weird in not wanting to have to deal with emails twice (desktop AND on my BB) but I have been happily using my BB for untethered email only. So, the question is: how do I stop my BB receiving emails while it is plugged into the DM? (I've not yet tried rolling back to the previous version of DM as that kinda offends my sense of progress.
I have been synching both Yahoo Address Book and Yahoo Calendar successfully for months.Suddenly, Address Book no longer synchs.Yahoo calendar still works. The problem occurs aftew Desktop reads all the contacts. It halts while "Synchronization Progress reading from Yahoo Address Book" displays. That message has displayed for up to an hour with no progress.I then disconnect and halt Desktop.I can still synch Yahoo Calendar.I have not updated desktop or device software.
i just wanted to know if its possible to set up their blackberry manager in such a way that it automatically uploads files to to a computer once connected to a network?
At work, we use Novell Groupwise. Calendar syncs fine, but BB Desktop Manager crashes when I sync addresses. I can load one-way from the computer to the BB, but not the other way. I may have a corrupt address, but haven't been able to get it all to work. What do I do to stop this?
I've spent a week trying to get the desktop manager to detect my curve 8530 to no avail My pc windows xp professional detects it but not the manager Ive tried what i could find on blackberry forums as well as my providers support forums and nothings worked is there anything else i can do.
I have a person who when I make the connection between their BB Desktop Manager and their Outlook Profile all of a sudden outlook sends all incoming email to the Junk E-mail folder.Another behavior is that if I add the sender to the Safe Sender List, the next email from that person will show up in both the outlook Inbox and the Junk-Email folder.Any help would be great as I think I have everything setup correctly. If I break just the email outlook profile connection the problem goes away. AKA, Outlook doesn't put emails into the junk folder that shouldn't go there.
I tried to use the blackberry desktop manager. Asked me to enter my pin. I did, it wouldnt accept it. I unplugged my phone to use it, it continued to tell me my password to unlock it as incorrect and rather than displaying the astrericks that it normally does when you enter the unlock password, it was displaying the actual characters so, I know that neither the keys are not faulty nor the password is incorrect. Its simply not accepting my password anymore.
I have downloaded ver 5 desktop manager several times and it is not able to install. I have completely un-uninstalled the previous software and deleted the regristry keys, RIM. After downloading the new version of software (5.01) off of the BB website and extracting the files, it will ask to install in english and then my issue pops up: a windows installer window pops up, with information and no errors. then the installer closes. the installer closes out and will not continue. the desktop manager software will not load and i have tried several different downloads, cleaned installs and i even tried ver 4.6.
Installed Desktop Manager 5.0.1, downloaded March 11, so it's as recent as can be. The documentation says there should be an "IP Modem" icon on the main screen. Not there. Re-installed, to be sure; still not there. Plowed through the on-line docs to find that the icon will be missing if there's no mdmgen.inf in my Windows (XP), but it's there. Yes, there's a "Standard Modem" in my computer modems list. So -- why no "IP Modem" icon? Don't know if this is relevant, but my Blackberry is a 9530 from Verizon.
I just bought my Blackberry, plugged it into my computer and installed the desktop manager. I had many updates so I pressed okay and now it's in the process, but it has been on the 3rd task (out of 11) for quite a while, I'm not sure if it's supposed to take this long or if it's just frozen or messed up on my computer.
So I had an older Curve, and now I have a brand new Curve 3g. The older phone has malfunctioned, and I can't use the keypad, but it still recongizes the software when plugged in, and i can charge it - this is why the data couldn't be transfered from my old phone to the new one at the Verizon store. So, I want all the contacts, my to-do lists/memopads, etc transfered into the new phone using Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista). So i selected the 'Device Transfer Wizard" from the main menu, and followed instructions - i get an error message that tells me, basically, I "need to remove some applications from my existing device because there is not enough space on the new device to accomodate them:" I don't get this - the new phone has 256mb memory compared to 32mb in the old phone, and I don't even have apps on there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the old phone and all it showed me as having was Facebook. So, I tried un-checking various boxes on the screen that asks what i want to transfer, and even with them all un-checked it still tells me there is not enough room to transfer.Am I doing this wrong? i just want my contacts and to-do lists transfered to the new phone - I don't know what this thing about the "applications" and such is about but I just want my data transfered.I will say that the Blackberry Manager application that I have is very slow, non-intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the **bleep** to work with - I would think that a slick tech company like Blackberry would have a far better program than this "Blackberry Manager".. I am impressed with the Blackberry phones but dread using that Blackberry Manager every time I need to (such as when putting anew ringtone on my phone).
While trying to fix an "App Error 523 reset" problem, I came across a (seemingly) very helpful post on this forum. However, I got stuck on step one because I have not yet used the Desktop Manager, and cannot figure out how to get past the initial DM welcome screen with my broken phone. My phone won't currently connect to DM because the phone can't properly start up. I need to get into Desktop Manager to access the Application Loader to fix my app error 523 problem.
I have a Blackberry 8330 curve that was purchased in October 2008.I loaded the Desktop Manager software from the disk that came with the phone. For a long while I was able to synche my calendar on the phone along with tasks, addresses, etc to outlook. Occasionally after finishing an error box would come up the Blackberry had detected an error and did I want to report it. I closed out the box since I was done working. About a week ago I was no longer able to synch and this error box would come up immediately. I have tried removing the software and downloading the version 5.0 software, hard re-setting the phone (which almost worked). I have updated to Internet Explorer 8 but this problem occured earlier as well.Last night I was able to back-up the device and set synchronization settings after the hard reset of the phone but now I cannot do anything. Desktop Manager opens fine, connects to my blackberry fine but as soon as I hit "Synch" it pops up the error message and whether I hit debug, don't send a report or send a report it closes me out completely.
I installed the Desktop Manager 5.0.1 off the CD that came with my new Blackberry Bold 9700, after first using Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs to remove the Desktop Manager 4.6 that I had previously installed with my old device. After installation, upon starting up Desktop Manager 5.0.1, the message "Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer" appeared. Upon connecting my device to the computer, DTM 5.0.1 immediately crashed, with the message "Blackberry Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close."I tried a clean uninstall (KB02206) and then a reinstall, with the same results. The file Desktop_ ERRORLOG.TXT at C:Program FilesResearch In MotionBlackberry reads : Desktop Mgr caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
Does this latest version of DeskTop Manager 6.0+ also work with an 8820?Does this latest version of DT Manager also support Lotus Organizer 6.1 as a standalone organizer on the Torch like Desktop Mgr 4.2.212 did on the 8820?Want to upgrade from DT Manager 4.2.212 and 8820 and buy a Torch.
I have a 9105 and recently downloaded Desktop Manager 6 onto my PC running XL. When running the older DM I was able to use the programme a few times then it stopped recognizing that my phone was connected. I have not managed to connect since upgrading. I have spent many hours in this and other forums trying every reasonable idea. I have removed the version 6 and loaded 5 again, removed 5 and clean installed 6. Checked all the different USB options and drivers. Changed USB cabels and connections. Removed the battery countless times but nothing will get it to connect. Windows and the device manager see the phone and I am able to remove/add files. I also upgraded my Documenyts To Go so that I can sync the docs on my desktop but this also fails to see my phone. Having read most KB's in this regard I am now not sure where to look.
I just purchased a BB Bold 9700. I installed the Desktop manager software on my computer, which went well. But when I connect my device, it just hangs, though it shows at the bottom that the device is connected
I type in my password which I know to be correct, or I'd have been locked out of it a long time ago, and it just keeps popping up. I can't back up my device or anything with the PC. What gives? Is it looking for a different password?
Each time I attempt to load the program, it locks up and the new window is shaded in grey. Cant open any options or click any icons. I followed the instructions for a clean install (twice) and downloaded the latest version of desktop manager.
I am running windows xp-64 bit and I have a bb curve 8310 with ATT.
I am new to the forum and also to Windows XP Professional x64 edition. I have reinstalled my Desktop Manager (downloaded BlackBerry Desktop Software v5.0 and v5.0.1 from the Blackberry website) and everything appears to have worked correctly. However, when I run the program, it never initializes. Has anyone had any experience getting the software to run in this edition of Windows?
I have a Blackberry Storm 9530 that I have been using for about 8 months. I generally sync it about once per day with Microsoft Outlook using the Desktop Manager through a USB connection.Today it would not sync! The PC recognized that I had plugged it in so I am assuming the USB cable is OK.The bar on top of the Desktop manager shows "Disconnected" and the bottom left corner of the Desktop Manager shows my connection as "none"If I try to sync it, a Device Connection box opens up asking for the PIN but does not allow me to type anything into the box. I have rebooted both the Blackberry and PC a few times to see if this would solve my problem - did not work. I have also tried other USB connections on my PC. I have not loaded any new software onto the PC recently, my antivirus program is up to date. I have read through the help files and cannot find anyway to get it to reconnect. What do I have to do to get Connected? Do I have to reload the Desktop Manager software or ?
