I tried to help my friend update his 8330... only the blackberry messenger. He is not an avid crackberry user, so did not have his contacts backed up on his computer, and of course he lost his contacts, except for the ones with email addresses attached to them for some reason. He lost all phone numbers. I was wondering if there is any way his contacts would have been backed up, either with verizon, on the media card, any way to get them back..... He is running the last official update from Verizon.

View 13 Replies View Relatedhowever i did not make a backup
now when i go on Internet and try to watch a video i get this "an error has occured attempting to play media" message
i re did the settings however the service book entries were deleted so the error is still present
can anyone give me a hand or at least point me in the right direction? if nothing can fix this i was thinking of doing a restore however i'm with fido and would lose the "my account" app and am unsure about how to regain it
i cant really make a backup now because when i wipe out and restore my settings will still be without wap. lets say i used the advanced option in backup restore and backed up everything except options and wap settings would that leave me with a new restore and keep my fido my account apps and just have to resync my email etc with the device?
i pretty much can't watch Internet videos and it hurst.
I have accidentally deleted my ringtones that came on the phone. How can I get them all back? By the way -- I don't have my USB to connect the BB to the computer. But I can take the mem card out and put it in my computer.

I accidentally deleted some pictures from my phone. I downloaded a software1 (not permitted to disclose the software) to recover my deleted pictures. However I could not recover them as this software was not free. I then downloaded blackberry desktop software and backed up everything. When I downloaded ZAR 9.1 it showed my memory card as being emptied. I then tried the software1 and it showed my memory card being emptied as well. I would like to learn how I can recover these pictures.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just bought a friend's 2g iPhone (cheap!) and I've loaded several apps, pix and podcasts, but somehow I've deleted the default 'Compass' app (I'm directionally challenged). I have tried restoring several different ways, but nothing I try works. It looks like it's pulling info off of an Apple database on what basic apps I have (and what I've deleted), even though I've told it to set it up as a new phone. If this is so easy to do accidentally, it's definitely hard to find info on how to fix it!My wife has a 3GS, and hers has almost the exact same apps, but she still has her Compass. Is there a way to copy hers onto mine?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had my blackberry as well as my memory stick connected to my pc . I wanted to clear out my memory stick and unfortunately in a moment of complete distraction I deleted all my folders off my BB! I could kick myself!! So now when I connect my BB to my pc all the folders appear as shortcuts and are only 1KB in size. I can take pictures but it does not save them, I cant take videos or voicenotes at all. I cant copy and paste anything into them. If the folders now appear as shortcuts surely the original folder can be restored? My contacts, email and IM settings remain the same - Its just the "Media" I am having a problem with! When I called our service provider I was told that I needed a new memory card and that will restore all the settings. That does not make sense to me.

I had an iPhone 3 that was backed up on my PC's iTunes. It broke, so I got an iPhone 4S. Because of computer issues, I was not able to sync my new iPhone until tonight, about a month after I bought it. I already had some contacts and pictures on my iPhone 4S that were not saved to my computer or on my old iPhone 3. When I synced it for the first time, I restored the data that was on the iPhone 3 and deleted everything on the 4S. Even though my iPhone 4S data had not yet been backed up, is there any way I can get it back?

I downloaded an app when it was free and deleted it accidently. Now it is $.99. Can I download it for free since I've downloaded it once already? Just to be clear, I didn't syn my phone with my computer when I had the app. The particular app I want to download again just have install button instead of $0.99 then Buy App.I also have a question on how to pay apps. Itunes require you to put a credit card information to creat an account, but I took off my CC information after I created it. Since my account doesn't have any credit card information, how does apple charge me if I buy an app? Is it even possible to purchase one unless I put CC or giftcard on my account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've read the previous threads on this topic but none quite fit the bill. I need to re-install the Photos icon, which has disappeared.
This happened while I was holding my phone but not paying attention; when I looked again the icons were all shaking. I don't know how the icon disappeared because the factory defaults don't offer a delete option, but the icon definately disappeared at that time. The app itself is still there and, because it was running when I deleted the icon, I can currently still access it by double clicking the main button, where app (and icon) is still accessible there at the bottom of the screen. But this is not convenient for general usage, and if I hard close the app from there then I will have no way to open the Photos app.
I can't re-download the app because it is a factory default app and not available anywhere (and as such shouldnt be deletable!).The icon isnt hiding anywhere amongst my subfolders, and I've checked for restrictions but there arent any.Restetting the home screen layout to factory defaults presumably means I will lose all the other app icons I have, and their sub folders etc, which I dont want to do either.I have now backed up my phone and all my photos etc, but if I restore my phone from a previous backup, I will lose the data and messages I've acquired isince then. All I want to do is re-install the icon and make sure it links to the photos app that is still installed - surley that can't be so hard?
