when making a call on my Torch2 9810 the moment i press the call button my screen fades away and no matter what i do it does not come back on but until the call is finished. I really tried everything. I have to be very fast in seeing if i put in the correct number to call otherwise it's canceling the call or wait to see if it was the correct number.
I've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?
I tried updating my facebook to the latest version and when it is finish downloading and done the reboot<br>It is still the old version,I tried it so many times and done also the pulling off the<br>Battery and then delete and install it again but stil it did not upgrade.<br>And also my bb app world can't upgrade also to the latest. I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
I've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.
I had to do a software update this morning for my phone so I did this and in the process it got to the screen that says:
Overall restore Progress: 1%
Current Database: BBGrouops 69%
Elapsed Time: 28:55
It has been stuck here all day! I called Fido earlier and asked them what to do and they told me to connect to my computer, I have done that and have tried everything and the problem still exists.
Got a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.
I am using the Curve 8530 which I started using with Rogers not too long ago. My friend has the same phone and got it the same time but hers has the software v5.0 yet mine still has v4.6. I want to be able to upload the new software but for some reason I am unable to. When I try to update it it tells me I already have the latest version, yet I am the only one of my friends with this phone that does not have this new software.
I tried updating from the blackberry website. When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. I have previously used the exact same steps on another Curve 8520 and I had successfully upgraded the OS. After the upgrade was successful on the first phone, only did I try upgrading the second phone. Is there anything I did wrongly the second time around?
I've been trying to update my phone for about 2 hrs now and i can't seem to get it to work. I've updated my desktop to v5.0, but everytime i click the link on the website it tells me i have the current version. i checked under "about" and i have v. 4.5.0.175. HOW DO I GET V5.0? oh and i have verizon if that matters.
I just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
I updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?
I have a Blackberry Curve 9300 and a lot are saying that it is compatible with os 6. Whenever I try to search for updates using this site, I am always prompted to key in my email instead so I can receive an update on when a new software version becomes available. My friend has the same phone but she was able to update hers.
i have a blackberry os5 and i am trying to update to the newest sortware i no its doable because my friend done it ,,but its sayin on blackberry desktop software no updates avalible i am a curve from vodaphone btw xx

My BB CURVE 8520 has a problem, when i put the battery in, it process and display a red screen with a vodafone logo and stup. I should know wich diagnostic is it?
it seems with my new 8900 i picked up i cannot update to any os other than stock 4.6 ver(.231) or downgrade to(.114) to any other version. I have reinstalled dm to the current version and still nothing. I have download multiple new 5.0 os(.348-.411) and deleted the vendor file and when i plug the berry in after installation it goes to check for a update and it does not find any. If you then try to go thru dm and update software it only has those two older versions listed even though i installed the newer ones.
I have a 8530 with OS5 and a couple hours ago I was prompted about the App World 3.1 update. I happily did the update but after the reboot I got this error:
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" And I get the same error every time I try to run App World. I have tried uninstalling App World and re-installing, Wipe the phone and install before restoring from my back up and I get the same error. So here I am now with an empty phone and no working App World to get my apps back.
i bought the phone unlocked from Ebay, so it came with OS 4.6. i decided to upgrade to OS 5. I have Tmobile, as well as the Blackberry internet service. I downloaded blackberry desktop manager 6, and it prompted me to install OS 5. However, here is the problem: The software downloads. It runs perfectly fine for a day or two, and then BAM the phone just starts rebooting itself constantly out of nowhere! Then I have to redo the entire process all over again! how do i get the software downloaded to my phone without it rebooting after like 2 days?
tried to update for the first time on computer. There was problems with the download and now phone not working. Keep getting flasing red light but can't even turn phone on. What do I do!!!
I'm running on 4.5OS but some new apps I'd like require at least 4.7. Can't find it anywhere. Also, when I try to upload 5.0OS from my mobile or through the internet and the desktop software I keep getting a message saying there are no uploads available. Is 5.0 NOT supported for the Curve 8330 despite website claims??? What's the deal? Again, why can't I upload 5.0 (or even 4.7) for smartphone which is only running 4.5?
I have a Curve 9300 with V5.0.0.845 (6.3.0.34 platform), Blackberry App World V2.1.2.19 and BBM V5.0.0. Since BB App World is been telling me there is a new version of BBM (V5.0.3.22), I have tried to update my device with no luck. If I try to update it connecting the phone via wifi or data service, it tells me that BBM is not available for download via BB App World, and if I connect the phone to a pc and try to install it via the pc, it gets me an unknown error.
I installed the 6.0 update and I really do not like the layout. I wouldn't bother uninstalling if I could change the home screen but there are very limited options, so can't change the things about the layout I hate it.
I have a Blackberry Curve 9300 3G how to uninstall the update? I want the 5.0 back
every time i try to update to os5 it says... there was a error updating software
