Jun 9, 2011I would like to downgrade back to OS5 on my Curve 9300, I kinda like the 6 but battery life is way to short. I'm not a real heavy user but just with a few messaging and going on internet a few times a day battery is not even lasting 8 maybe 9 hrs.

Aug 21, 2010I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Jun 9, 2010I have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.

Sep 18, 2010Got a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.

My memo pad syncs, but not the calendar. I do not have Outlook on my computer, so Yahoo is my only choice of calendar. I spoke to Verizon tech support for 2 hours and we tried everything. Apr 6, 2010I got a Black Berry Curve 8530 through Sprint at Best Buy Mobile. I had some battery life issues and they took it and replaced it brand new since I had the Best Buy insurance. On my old phone as soon as they activated it and I brought it home, I went through the setup wizard and everything, and set up my im's and e-mail account.
On the new phone they gave me, I don't know what they did when they switched my activation to this one, but I brought it home, turned it on, did the set up wizard and am quite confused. There are absolutely no pre-loaded apps like the last one. The last phone one that they replaced came with the social networking and IM apps and whatnot, but this phone has nothing. I go into the social networking and other folders, and they are all empty. I tried to go to setup, e-mail setup and all it talks about is setting up an email through the Black Berry enterprise server. There is no option to set up a personal email like Gmail, Yahoo mail or anything of that sort. I also can no longer send anything but text messages. I cant send pic messages or anything.

Aug 21, 2010I have my 8530 set to lock after 5 minutes. Once the five minutes is up, it will lock (allowing me to put in my password). However, when I press and hold the A key, a message comes up on the screen saying
"Keypad is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock". so all i have to do is press the mute button, the phone isn't actually password locked.

Feb 15, 2010I just received the 8530 from work and installed the desktop Manager software on my laptop. Whenever I try and connect as a modem I recieve an error the remote computer did not repsond. I have looked around on different forums and could not get a definitate answer as to whether or not this phone is capable of this. In the manual it states that in DUN Profile I can use the phone as a modem using a bluetooth enabled PC but no instructions on how to do this were there. I stumbled on 3rd party software "tether". I installed it and it actually worked. So obviously the phone is capable of being used as a modem, but why not using the desktop manager software. Does anyone have a clue?
