Sony Ericsson :: W64s - Phone Needs To Be Unlocked If Brand New
Jul 9, 2009
So my friend is looking forward to purchasing an au cellphone with the model w64s, and I have heard from a few threads that it needs to be unlocked if it's brand new. I would gladly appreciate it if someone can give me information based on certain places where I can get my hands on a few hypersims that will help unlock this model.
https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/oet[...]id=398513&fcc_id='PY7A5880001' It shows no picture...just a label information that tells you what's the model number. one of the declaration letter put on FCC claiming RFID receiver will be disable when phone's at canada...i didn't read carefully...hopefully I get it right[ This Message was edited by: c96sthl on 2008-10-15 05:55 ]
Symptoms: Phone wont charge. right off the box. Says "Battery cannot be charged, please use a Sony Ericsson Battery". It is a Sony Ericsson battery. It is a Sony Ericsson charger. Everything came out of the box.
I just opened it, and first thing I did was plug it into the wall. Now, I have installed the update service, tells me phone is up to date (downloaded straight from sonyericsson.com). I have installed Phone suite 6.01; tried a repair phone, aborts with an error when it comes to the update service (right after the remove batery, press C while connecting phone part). Also same thing with car charger.
I just got a brand new Iphone 3gs (week 50 after this boot change).in addition I have a SIM card used as goPhone by AT&T.till today i used an Iphone 3g with the same SIM card and it worked great after I activated it using black ra1n.the thing is, when Im trying to activate the new 3gs phone with blackra1n(BlackSn0w) it does not work and gets no service whats so ever.if Im trying to search for a carrier, i find AT&T and TMOBILE, but when i press them it tells me that "network lost."but listen to this: when Im using my SIM card from another country i get service and it works great.
I'm going to be going on an overseas trip next week, and I would like to bring my phone with me to play music. I do NOT want to pay crazy roaming charges - if I get my phone unlocked, does that mean I can still use it with the SIM card removed?
I just ordered 2 of those phones, but are Pay As You Go phones. I was wondering if its possible to unlock them. Just give me all the suggestions please. O, and also, If I call At&t, will they do it? Some people say yes, and some say no.
This question may be off-subject, but I hope someone out there will take pity on me and answer my super newbie questions:Assuming I buy an unlocked phone from somewhere (take for example, the super expensive Xperia X1a) how do I use it?AT&T provides the best coverage in my relatively rural area, so do I simply call them up, explain the situation, and ask for a SIM card?In such a case, is there no contract? Is it month-to-month (quit anytime)? Is it better to quietly sign a contract and get a free phone, then put that SIM card into my unlocked phone? (Perhaps sell the free phone on eBay?)I guess what I really want to understand better is "Why bother to unlock or buy unlocked?" In my case, I am kind of stuck with AT&T due to coverage, so I wouldn't be switching providers.so, in such a case, what are the big advantages of unlocking? Please help me understand. I cannot seem to get my mind around the big picture here.
I'm about to buy a w810i and I have some questions. This is an unlocked / unbraned phone:
1. What's the best firmware to use? What's the differences? 2. Can I set custom ring-tones and mp3 ring-tones? 3. What's some nice themes? How do I set 'em? 4. Can I use MSN / Internet? What's the fee?
I'm going to use Rogers Pay-As-You-Go. I bought a SIM Card, not sure if it'll work with pay-as-you-go, anyway to check?
I have a w710i that I Updated CID to 51/firmware to Euro4 using Wotan. Unlocked using GSM Liberty. I have a problem with the external screen as the display goes blank in screensaver mode. Sometimes showing backwards info when I click volume up/down. This is the only problem. It was suggested elsewhere that I try using SEUS to reflash/update the phone and it may fix the problem. Will using SEUS 're-lock' my phone? Or has my phone been permanently unlocked?
I recently unblocked my W880i (52 on Orange France) phone. Today, I put a new SIM card in. Then turned the phone off to put my old SIM card back in, and when I came to turn on the phone, it will not power on Anymore! All I get is a red light under the Power button followed by some blinking for a few seconds.
I tried everything it will not turn on. What is going on here? i tried connecting to charger, USB, etc etc nothing seems to work and phone will not turn on. please help me as i m stranded away on business and cant access my contacts anymore. I should point out that the phone was unlocked with a PUK code given to me by a phone store who used the server method to unlock.
I have a V640i and K630i. I unlocked it too. It worked fine for a while but after that the screen went black for couple of seconds and used to change its theme. Now it doesn't change the theme but sometimes I have no signal and sometimes the screen goes black. The handsfree and when I try to charge it. I have to be careful with the charging cable cuz if I move it, it will stop charging. All this thing can be from a battery problem?
I am trying to figure out a few things and was wondering if those in the know could help me. First, is the service cable people talk about a cruiser cable? Second, can a w310a be unlocked at the moment? Third, does anyone know where I can get this done in the GTA? Also, to be frank, I am not looking for some place that wants to charge 60 dollars to unlock a 100 dollar phone.
I just want to get a definite answer from you knowledgeable folks before I hook up my precious W890i with Vodafone firmware but unlocked, letting me use my O2 SIM, to the SEUS in case it restores network locks!
I just wanted to say that, I know Sony Ericsson got their new brand 'make.believe' which if I'm honest is total propaganda, the fact that SE can actually make their customers believe in SE and they somehow think that changing their branding but keeping the poor build quality of their products the same is going to make some massive difference. Anyway I really don't like their new website if I'm honest I think it's awfully laid out, I much preferred their old layout and always liked how they had a simple web page for each of their phones to date. Now I'm perfectly happy with change, I agree that a company needs to get a new look every once in a while, but I think this is pointless. What advantages does this new site have for the user? No more information is added, just moved about. I'm torn with the SE logo changing color, I'm not sure with this it's an interesting idea to spice up the logo but on the other hand I think green is the best and any other color used makes it look stupid. Maybe this is just due to the fact that I'm used to their original logo I don't know. Lastly does this mean the end to the "I music" etc.? I saw an ad for the Anio today and it didn't have it , I'm sorry but that was awesome advertising which I loved SE for.
Sony Ericsson was planning a PSP phone but has been refused the brand Sony is understood to have refused to allow Sony Ericsson the use of its PlayStation brand, after the handset manufacturer presented a pitch to the board late last year.Sony Ericsson was planning to develop a PSP phone to capitalise on the growing success of the gaming sector, and after the success of Cyber-shot and Walkman handsets.Sources said the refusal to sanction the brand on the handsets in December has prompted a fallout between Sony and the mobile phone joint venture.Several sources close to the matter claimed Sony executives told colleagues at Sony Ericsson that it would only license the PlayStation brand if and when Sony makes handsets independently – effectively pushing for an exit from the joint venture with Ericsson. It has been claimed by Sony Ericsson that Sony will only allow the use of its brand if the experience on a proposed handset is sufficiently high enough and matches the experience of Sony’s standalone devices.A Sony Ericsson spokeswoman said the handset manufacturer ‘could not comment on what Sony has or hasn’t said’. She added: ‘In the past, we have been keen that our product proposition lives up to brand promise, and we feel at the moment the technical specs are not high enough to put such a prestigious brand on a phone. The handset manufacturer currently uses Sony’s Walkman and Cyber-shot brands on its phones and the Bravia TV brand is available on mobile phones The Sony Ericsson spokeswoman said the manufacturer is ‘continually reviewing’ launch plans and would look at Bravia and PlayStation ‘in the future’.The move comes at troubled times for Sony Ericsson, which is cutting costs as the economic slowdown bites. It will reveal realignment plans today (16 January), that will include a review of all of its operations. In the last quarter of 2008, Sony Ericsson put a push on reclaiming its customer debts, in a bid to claw back costs before the end of the year. It is understood that the manufacturer was offering incentives to operators for paying the outstanding debts.
Sony Ericsson realigns brand in next stage of company transformation 03 September 2009 * Evolves visual identity and brand values as next stage of business transformation * Shifts consumer engagement to digital, viral and social media platforms * Aligns with Sony Group companies under new ‘make.believe’ brand message
London – September 3rd, 2009 – Sony Ericsson today announced the next stage of its on-going business transformation with the realignment of its external visual identity and brand values in order to deliver its vision of becoming the Communication Entertainment brand. The company also confirmed its adoption of the newly announced Sony brand message ‘make.believe’ in all consumer communication in order to reinforce its entertainment credentials and collaboration with the Sony Group.
"Fusing communication and entertainment has been at the core of Sony Ericsson’s offering since the start of the joint venture. 'make.believe' aligns Sony Ericsson with the Sony Group companies and reflects the coming together of communication and entertainment. By re-aligning our brand and adopting ‘make believe’ we further highlight our entertainment offering to consumers," said Cathy Davies, Head of Brand Strategy at Sony Ericsson.
"Our ongoing business transformation is laying the foundations for the new Sony Ericsson. Our re-aligned brand is a vital part of this strategy. Combined with a new culture of openness it marks a shift in the way we plan and build our propositions, as well as how we invite consumers to engage with us via digital and social media platforms", said Lennard Hoornik, Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson.
Visually, Sony Ericsson will expand the appeal of its globally recognised 'liquid identity' logo by adding seven new colour variations plus a new a 'liquid energy' flowing from the logo to make it more playful and visually appealing for the digital arena. The company also aims to adopt a more open and questioning attitude by inviting greater consumer participation in the brand through a stronger focus on interactive digital and social media channels.
A series of strategic marketing campaigns this autumn will launch the realigned visual identity and showcase the start of make.believe at Sony Ericsson, including a 'spark something' viral campaign for the new Satio, Aino and Yari phones and a global activation campaign as the official global handset sponsor for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ to capture the passion of football fans around the world.
Can someone help me debrand the c905a from att, i just bought it today. 1. i want the wifi 2. add a Chinese language 3. also how can i save the original firm or setting, in case i need to take back to the store, cuz still under warranty. please help me step by step, cuz i did read some info but keep getting confusing.
What does CID mean when you talk about CID 52 or CID 53? I am wanting to flash my new AT&T w580i that I am getting tomorrow to the standard Sony firmware for the USA but would like to know what that stuff means and where to find it. Also does anyone know where I could find the latest firmware for free?
Well first of all, I really like Adam Sandler movies, this movie really sucked though. So you have been warned. In the movie everybody uses Sony Ericsson phones, I saw a w600, k550 black, w580 white, and a couple of P1s. Not only are these phones very obviously displayed in the movie, but Adam Sandler himself mentions the Sony Ericsson brand and that they have Bluetooth.
Another funny fact is that they use video calling in the US, where unfortunately none of the carrier offers it. So, well come to think of it, they may have been using Video Share (ATT save video and then send), even though it looked like real time video calling. Still it did not make the movie not suck. It had its funny parts, but it was way too long IMHO.
I will be going overseas soon to Asia and a friend over there is requesting we get him an iPhone 3Gs and he will pay us back when there. Now, my friend over here, his sister just received an iPhone 3GS. She does not want it. It was a gift from an admirer and won't take it back. They are now going to just sell it and take the money. So my current situation is this, I currently have the iPhone box, sealed at my house. The box displays IMEI and some other information stuff. What I don't know is if the phone was bought from a carrier like Rogers/Fido or from a reseller store or something. The friend overseas would like the phone to be brand new and sealed. Also he would like the phone unlocked so he can use it.Problem, is there a way to find out through IMEI or somewhere on box to figure out if the phone was bought from a carrier? I've never bought an iPhone from Rogers/Fido so don't know if there'd be a logo or something somwhere on box. As of now there are no indications somewhere saying it is from a carrier. My friend over here also thinks it was not bought at a carrier. We can't really ask the original guy who bought it because of whatever issues too.So yeah, if anyone knows if its really easy to figure this out or something, please let me know.
For a long time AT&T nee Cingular has locked me out of their MEdia (AT&T) Mall, and prevented me from running desirable apps by signing them with a "secret" certificate only available on their branded phones.Well, thanks to a2uploader and the recent acquisition of a locked AT&T phone I have been able to snag these Preferred and Trusted Java signing root certificates. As well as the entire AT&T customization package, which gives me a good template to play with my own if I so desire. (As an aside, I can also now download from the AT&T Mall using a Firefox add-on which allows me to spoof a particular supported phone's User-Agent string.)I digress. When I sent these certificates to my unlocked K850i it places them in the Trusted Cert store rather than the Java Cert store and the apps still have problems running and fail to install using the signed JAD. I have not tried it, but I assume my K790a will behave the same way. Now, the XML which defines the AT&T customizations references the certificates as well as the proper store location for them. Is this my only way to force a cert into the Java store? This also leads into how can I install client certificates?
If I may rephrase an earlier query--how do i unbrand an unlocked v195 from t-mobile so i can use it as an att&t go phone? I can now make and receive calls, retrieve messages, etc, but there there seem to be crumbs left that do weird things.
I have a k800i - branded to UK operator Three and I need it to accept my vodafone contract sim as my contract phone died!I've been searching and searching trying to find out how to de-brand the phone so that I can use any sim in it but I'm really, really confused as to how I need to do it, can someone explain it to me in english? I've seen this post on this site here: http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?k=98987 And it's asking me to download firmware, FS firmware, XS++ V2.0 and flash drivers. I have no idea what they are or where to get them from. Can anyone help, please? I'm desperate for a phone!
im buying an unlocked c702 frm ebay one with the video camera still in front i was wondering if i updated my phone from the US site would it change/delete any thing that NOT supposed to be on the US version of the phone or should i just update it from the UK site or is it all the same? and would i not have things from the US ver since i updated from the UK site?(i know theres no update for it in the US site yet but im just wonderin what would happen if i did since i live in the US)
C902 is on Orange UK for all those that's didn't know.but did you know it is debranded and unlocked too?If your eligible to upgrade get in there quick before they start branding them all and locking them all.
I'm interested in the unlocked Xperia X1 as prices are coming down. I have never purchased an "unlocked" phone before. Can anyone tell me if this unlocked Xperia will still come with the usual AT&T stuff that I'll want to remove by debranding? Right now, I'm using my debranded Z750, and I would never want to go back to the AT&T configuration!
Looking to buy the newly released SE Hazel. Any suggestions for reputable shops to buy from? Will be using it on AT&T 3G network in US. http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wire mpaign=froogle That link says it is Imported and the technology is 3G EURO. Will that make a difference in the US? Is SE going to release a US model of the phone?
