Sony Ericsson :: Turn Off Text Preview
Dec 1, 2010When a text message comes into my cedar it displays a part of it on the main screen. This is bad if privacy is an issue. How do I stop this?

Jun 16, 2012Today,I turn on my X8,and i want to go to market and download some apps,so when i open market,it pops out this log in thing.Then,i type my gmail password,then it said network error,but i am connected to my wifi already.Then,I press try again a few times and it still said network error.Then I went to settings,accounts,and I tried to delete my account and open a new account,but it said something about not responding something like that and it pops back to settings.So I factory reset my x8,and when it reboots to the sony ericsson text,it hangs.

Sep 14, 2010My son-in-law is in Mozambique, Africa with the Peace Corps and his Ericsson k618i will not turn on, even with it plugged in. He has tried the suggesions of removing the memory card, and then he pulled the battery and cleaned the contacts well. All he gets with it plugged into the charger is the light on the phone blinking red (which is not mentioned in the manual either). Replacing the battery might be an option the next time they make the 12 hour trip to the capital from their remote village, but nothing in Mozambique is a sure thing when you are talking about spare parts.

Aug 26, 2010I've had my phone for at least a year now and suddenly today it won't turn on. This also happened maybe 30mins-1hr after turning it off. It was working fine but now no matter how I try turning it on, the buttons just light up and it vibrates but nothing comes on the screen. Is this a battery problem or a screen problem? I have to take out the battery before I can try turning it on again. And also it won't charge. I tried searching for answers but haven't found anything.

Nov 25, 2010Before the problem happened, i left my phone on in standby mode.I discovered after the problem happened, the phone was permanently shutdown, nothing i did (trying all the keys, taking battery out etc) could turn it on again.When I charged it, it still refused to turn on.The only thing that happened when it was under the charger was that the top left key and 'main' middle button in the directional keypad light up in red. Jan 23, 2012When I click from either the "Notification" screen, or the Text Message List, I am directed to the wrong text messaging thread. This doesn't happen every time, it happens every day, and multiple times, however. Usually, when I reboot the phone, the problem is gone...momentarily.
It seems to happen with random messages. I use Universal Inbox and currently see message from text, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and my AT&T mail.
If I use the stock Text Messaging app, I can open the list of messages and see whatever I can from the preview there, but when I click to open the thread, it will open a totally random message thread. Weird. I'm not that into text messaging, but it does annoy me when I need to use it and I can't open individual messages because the wrong ones are appearing.
I don't know if this is a device problem, a software/app problem, an AT&T messaging problem or what. I'm somewhat ignorant about smartphones and have only had this Atrix 2 for about three months.

Jul 2, 2010I've had my Satio for a few months now and its been working just how i would imagine it too. Accept from today I have tried to send texts but then find that they are waiting in the outbox saying it will try to resend the message again in a few minutes. I have tried to send a text to other contacts to see if it was a problem with the other person but this still happens. The message wont actually send. I sometimes receive a text saying that "You have a message waiting but your inbox is full" and it says that I should delete my inbox to create space. So i now have an empty inbox and still receive this text... Lastly I have tried to update my phone but this still hasn't fixed this problem! Is there anyway of fixing this?

The problem appears when you are in a Java application. you know some text inputs, like "username" and "password" inputs. when in the java application, the username input seems no problem, but when trying to write in "password" line there is nothing on the screen and the program crashes after my second letter. writes on screen "CtextLayout usin 6" error code. is there a fix for this bug?

Aug 24, 2010I recently purchased a W995 and I am trying to turn off the shutter sounds for the camera. I know many people with SE phones and they all tell me the same thing. You can turn them off in the settings for the camera. On my W995 there is no option for the shutter sounds to be off there is only 4 sounds to choose from. I am sure that there should be a fifth option for off but its not there. How do i turn them off? I got 10 days cooling off period on my contract and this, along with a day of wifi problems, will mean the phone will be going back if there is no resolution for it.
