Sony Ericsson :: T610& T630 / Joystick Combinations
On my T610 and T630 there were some things I could access by doing certain combinations on the joystick (I can't remember what the combinations were off the top of my head).Are there any similar ones on the w850 that anyone knows of?

Sony Ericsson :: T610 / "Charging Battery" Indicator / "Red Light" On Joystick Appear
I'm having this strange problem with my old T610. While the phone is off, When i plug in the charger the "charging battery" indicator and the "Red light" on joystick appear, but within few milliseconds the display goes off (red light remains on) and the charging process restarts. This happens continuously until I unplug the charger. When the charger is plugged while the phone is turned on "Optimized charging" message appears but the "charging indicator" stays on current battery level.

Sony Ericsson :: T630 - Water Damage / Messages And Photographs Lost
My T630 got splashed the other day. Resulting in mist forming in the screen I removed the battery & attempted to dry out the inside with a hairdryer (on low & some distance away). This in proved matters but did not solve them. Then the joystick and the two buttons on either side would not work.
I've let it dry out for several days & occasionally tried to see if it is working better. Today I have managed to get it working reasonably but was & am frightened that I may loose the archived, sent & received messages that I was saving. I now find that I have the SIM archived messages but no others & no photographs saved any more. Can it all be recovered?

Sony Ericsson :: SE T610 Need Continuously Rebooting?
My t610 will power up long enough for my network provider ( 02 ) to be recognised, then it will soft reboot. It will do this continuously, until I pop the battery! Can anyone help me to fix this issue? I've tried accessing the Master Reset options in the time available to me before the reboot - but it hasn't gotten me anywhere...

Sony Ericsson :: Joystick Mod
You've likely seen my other thread on joystick caps:
Well, I've made some more with a new design, and the ebay listing is:
I decided to start a new thread because the old one kind of centers around it being a mod for the w800i, and it turns out that they fit the k750i joystick as well. And that means that these joystick caps will fit just about all of the current and upcoming Sony Ericsson joystick phones out there! I was browsing the pics of Sony Ericsson phones at http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson-phones-19.php and it looks like all phones with joysticks use one of two models: the one the w800i uses, or the one the k750i uses.
Models with the w800i joystick include: w800i, d750, and w700
Models with the k750i joystick include: k750i, k790, k800, k510, k310, and the old k700, k600, k300, k508, k500, j210, j300, j200, and f500i
Here's some pics of my phone with the new cap on it, and some pics of the k750 with the old cap on it (thanks to Blakthorn!), as well as a k750 joystick from cnn.cn with the new joystick on it.

Sony Ericsson :: C510 - Joystick
I'm looking at replacing my creaky old K800i with a C510, but wondered if the C510 has a kind of joystick or if it's a D-pad "clicky button" arrangement? It's hard to tell from the videos and written reviews. I play a lot of games on my mobile and I like the feel of the joystick, so I was really hoping I could upgrade to another SE phone with joystick, but I guess they're falling out of favour (especially since many people had problems with the K800 joystick).

Sony Ericsson :: W800i Rubber Tip On Joystick
If you're an avid user of your phone or just unlucky i guess your orange rubber tip on your phone has fallen out. Too bad but i have an alternative solution for you on how to replace even improve your rubber tip! I replaced my rubber tip by using a glue stick! This is has been tried and tested...mine fell off a few weeks ago and i've been using this new tip for awhile. It's actually better compared to the original orange tip that comes with the phone because the adhesion of the glue stick material is stronger and by tip now is thicker or more portruded (more convenient for those who use crystal cases or silicon cases)Here's a step by step process on how to use glue stick as a replacement for your rubber tip.
1. glue stick
2. inch long steel pin (or toothpick...but i prefer using the pin)
4. cleen plate or glass
1. clean your tip--even if the orange tip has fallen off...there could be some small particles left on the tip. use your pin and tweezer to pick up the rest of the orange tip.
2. protect your phone--switch your phone off to be safe! wrap it with paper and tape.. only leaving a small hole on the joystick area (something like how the surgeons do when they operate) this will prevent messing your phone's face just in case.
3. melt your glue stick--cut a pea size portion of your glue stick (make sure it's clean) and place it on a glass or plate. heat the pea sized glue with a lighter until it melts. be careful on heating it too much as it will create bubbles or you might burn it and make it black. this could use some trial and error.
4. place the glue on the joystick--carefully pick up the glue while it's still in melted state with your pin. horizontally scoop the glue with the pin and let it roll on the pin. now place the pin directly on top of the joystick vertically so that the glue will start to slowly crawl down your joystick. when you have placed your desired amount of glue on the joystick.. carefully pull out the pin vertically. naturally...there will be a thin trail of glue stick when you pull this out...don't use scissors to cut the trail. instead, use your lighter to cut the trail and it will fall on the bubble glue on your joystick.
5. let it dry--leave your new rubber stick for a few mins in room temp to let it dry (it will dry after about 10 mins but leave it for an hour to be sure it's strongly bonded)**for those who want to keep it orange..you can mix food coloring on the melted glue.
Evaluation on the new glue rubber tip:
1. it's perfect for me because i'm using a silicon case for my phone. it's more accessible and the tip is very sturdy.
2. buying a new joystick replacement means having your phone opened up by a service center...i don't recommend this because w800 is hard to open up and reassemble. the last time a service center opened up my phone.. it left a small crack on the side
3. the glue stick material is basically the same component as rubber so my new joystick is very convenient to use.

Sony Ericsson :: K700 Tutorial - Fix Most Joystick
The joystick tends to be a bit of a problem on the K series. It's not so much the build quality - it is extremely strong and durable. The main weakness of the joystick is the poor shielding from dead skin etc that falls into the gap, floats around, and gathers in the base of the joystick. This gums up the joystick, meaning it needs to be pressed HARD to push through the crap and operate the micro switch.It is impossible to clean with brushes, cotton buds, cmopressed air etc. The crud needs to be broken down and washed away. The simplest way to do this is with electronic contact cleaner. This stuff comes in a spray can, with a long thin tube that fits into the trigger head.
This is what you do:Go here to learn how to dismantle your cell (that link suits K750/W800).Once you have the cell in pieces, grab the mainboard and contact cleaner and come back here.Fit the tube to the triggerhead and spray the contact cleaner deep into the base of the joystick. Blast it in there for a few seconds then let it drain a bit, then repeat several times. Then repeat. And again. Get rid of all that crud messing up your beautiful cell You'll feel a bit freaked out using contact cleaner. It runs off the circuitboard like water or very fine oil and you can't help but wonder if it's going to cause damage. But the beauty of contact cleaner is it evaporates without leaving any residue, and so it won't damage the mainboard at all. It also shouldn't set off water damage indicators.Don't spray it on the lcd though (just incase - my k700 one went a bit funny, but then came good after a day). Keep the lcd away from the spray area.Give the board a minute or two, then reassemble phone and test joystick. You should find a radical improvement. If still not 100%, try the whole process again, untill you can get no more improvement.If after that it still isn't working properly, then your up for a new mainboard or to have a new joystick soldering in.Hope that helps any game peeps out there who wanna fix their joysticks themselves.It got mine sorted -

Sony Ericsson :: K810 Loose Joystick?
Recently my phone's joystick seems a bit loose. I mean is that when i try to move my joystick to right, my phone wont respond immediately. I have to move the joystick a little harder so that my phone will respond. There is nothing wrong with up,down and left. Only the right move. Is there a way to fix this in my own? or do I have to bring my phone to one of our SE store to fix it?

Sony Ericsson :: K800i - Joystick Not Responding Properly
I'm currently having a problem most of the time whenever I move the joystick downwards on my K800i phone, instead of scrolling down a menu, my phone thinks I've pressed select and pushed the joystick button. This is particularly irritating especially when I'm writing texts. Using the predictive text option and when I'm trying to scroll down in my address book to either call someone and my phone thinks I've pressed 'select' and calls somebody, I didn't want to call and sending somebody a text. In the meantime, I'm just moving the joystick upwards whenever I have to scroll through menus.
I've had my phone for about 2 1/2 years now and it was perfectly fine until now. I also have another minor problem which occurs rarely. Sometimes my phone is locked and when I get a text, The phone display stays dark and the phone doesn't function for me to unlock the phone. I have to open and shut the camera shutter for the display to light up the display and for the phone to function.

Sony Ericsson :: W800i - Keys And Joystick Faulty?
A few weeks ago, my trusty w800i failed: Several keys: upper left one [accept], alphanumeric 1, 2 and 3 [complete first row], and joystick [down] and [right] functions didn't work. I assumed it was a keyboard failure and bought a new one from the 'bay: After replacing it, nothing changed: The same failure in the same keys.
My surprise came yesterday when by chance I opened "quadrapop". The joystick faulty functions [right and down] worked perfectly! So, I assume it's a software failure. I updated the software via SU a few days ago, if you're going to suggest me that, with no success at all.
