Sony Ericsson :: Candy Bar Phone With Torch LED Light / Any Suggestions?
Oct 21, 2009
I am desperately after a Sony Ericsson candy bar type (not slide/flip) phone for my dad. He want's to stick with SE and currently has the W810. I have seen a few phones but all have a flash not a LED torch function. Can anyone suggest a phone model that I can pick up new or used? I am considering getting another W810 if I have to but this is the third phone and the bottom charger contacts wear quickly.
I want to choose between the C905 or W705 as a transition phone before getting the W995, I have read that the W705 doesn't have the ''Torch'' application, but its big bro the G705 has it! I have seen too that people could enable hidden options and applications via A2 Uploader like people getting SMS chat style on their G705 ,so is there a way to enable Torch light in W705?

I discovered that i can use the C905 Xenon light as a torch by the camera's video mode then press down to switch on the light. My boy-friend who has W995 is wondering if there is a similar way of using the video LED light on his phone as a torch as well or able to get a java application that does this like on i had on my K800?
I installed a .JAR file. It turns the red LED next to the flash on so it can be used as a torch i was just woundering can the torch be used when there is no light to record a video. When i try opening the camera whilst the light is on it says another application is running close it and then start the camera.
Had a K800i for some time, and we happy with it. Now out of contract, and it has a slight scratch on the screen, so I'm wondering what to upgrade to. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been on SE for some time (since T68i), but I'd consider others. I watch a lot of video, listen to music, and used the camera on my K750 a lot (for whatever reason, I could never get the K800's camera to work as well), so what would be a good all-rounder to go for?
i have just purchased a sony ericsson spiro w100i after having had a k310i for many years. On the k320i was a word suggestions option which had "display as list" or "dont display"selecting "dont display" meant that i didnt have the box showing up with a list of possible words i was typing in. On the new phone (w100i) I found "word suggestions" and "next word suggestions" both of which i set to off. However i am still having word suggestions displayed.I would like to know if it is possible on the w100i to not have the list of words displayed as it was with the k310i? any help would be greatly appreciated and of course if it isnt possible to have it not displayed i will just have tp get used to it .
When i was ignorant i had written k810 gdfs in k800 and now red light blinking. battery is full charged, i had written k800_GDFS ,K800_RED CID52 R3B025_EROM-FOTA_2007-07-24_1, MAIN and FS with setool but nothing not changed. i pressed unlock/repair and setool write "error".
My W810i is starting to come to the end of its life, and one of the most useful features is the LED light which I can use as a make-shift torch With most new phones coming with xenon flashes, does anyone know the last or latest SE phone with a white LED light?
I notice a flashing red light on the side of phone. I put the phone on charge seemed to be charging ok approx 5 hours later took it off charge. I used phone and noticed the battery indicator showing 1 red bar the phone bleeped low battery and turned off. I've done all normal trouble shooting tips still the same. I've bought original Sony Ericsson charger and battery that hasn't worked either.
I bought a cheap K810i that was water damaged, so I bought this phone actually for DIY (Do It Yourself) aka "Learning by doing", but this solution were a bit hard, so I'm stuck. I've used torx screwdriver to completely open the phone. I've used hair dryer and WD-40 spray which is good for electronic components like connectors etc. to clear the damp and other burks.
After done all this things (used 3 hours totally), I reassembled the phone and inserted the battery. The led light is giving me now a clear orange light. I try to charge the phone, but no luck. Try to use XS++ and Setool 2, but the phone won't connect or charge. I couldn't luck to fix the water damage solutions and wonder what the orange light is? Is it an indication for the IC is blown? Any ideas what I can do to try to fix this by myself expect sending it to service centre?
I Have Sony Ericsson w610i about 2 years and before one week. It started stucking and I had to put of the battery and making reboot to be unstucked. I tried to update it with SE update service but it stuck in the middle of the update and after that it doesn't opens. Only a red light blinks. I checked the battery but it is ok. So as I searhed I found out that the problem is the EROM or GDFS. I am trying to repair it with flashing programs, but nothing. How can i fix it?

My phone was working good. I tried to update the software using SE update service. When I press C and connected the cable the software checked connected phone and replied product can not be identified, remove the cable and reinsert the battery. I did so. But now phone is not working when I try to switch it on, the screen just blinks with a light but no text on the screen. I tried to flash the phone too but it is also not wokring XS++ shows something link this.

I'm really happy with the K800i camera in good light, but i'm slightly - if not very - disappointed about it in low light. The detail lost is dramatic, with the noise recuction system - that doesn't even work - slowing the camera down lots. The noise on the photos is very bad, and I was wondering if there are any safe and reliable drivers that will alter this Also, I'm a bit disappointed with the 15 fps in the video - it is very choppy and the quality not very good. I was wondering if there is any reliable driver to solve this too?
I have noticed my last few recent Sony Ericsson phones have had a small red LED which only appears to be used as a low battery indicator. One thing i really appreciated on my Nokia e51 was the LED light that blinked when I had a missed call or new message. This saved me having to unlock my phone, turn my display on etc.. Why would Sony Ericsson not faciliate this with their existing LED lights?
What do you think of my photos, I'm pretty shocked?! I've gone over the settings carefully and checked with Sony and the shop. In these I've used portrait as Auto is worse. These two were taken early evening in low light.
Then after a few more attempts I get a "better" photo
Daytime photos seem ok
I've taken loads of photos and the low light ones I get maybe 1 in 6 turn out, not brilliant, but at least not totally black! Very strange. I'm being careful to take the photo when both lights are green too.
I currently have here a Faulty C905 which just wont turn on. When i charge it or plug it into the PC there a red light that appears below the charging port. Nothing more. When i attempt to turn on the C905 nothing happens, no vibration. Please can you help me identify the problem. No warranty.
