Samsung :: M510 And PDAnet Doable?
I have a M510 and was considering getting a modem and mobile broadband service, but someone said I might be able to tether it and use PDA net. I looked through all 9 pages and did some searches here and on google and didn't see anything in this forum talking about it, so I hope this is the right place to ask.Anyway, is this doable? Does anyone have experience with it? I've seen some other posts on other forums where people say it can be done, but no posts where someone has actually done it with comprehensive instructions.Also, if it is doable, my phone didn't come with a data cable so I need to buy one. I've seen some for sale that include software and others that don't. Does PDAnet have all the functionality I'd need, or should I aim to buy a cable that comes with some software/drivers?Lastly, what's this I'm reading about Sprint catching people doing this, PAM, and stuff about disabling NAI? What's all this about?

Samsung :: Using PdaNet With A BlackJack
I just got my BlackJack today, so I'm still googling and searching HoFo for what I can and can't do with it. Someone at another forum suggested I use PdaNet instead of the built in internet sharing program, as I've only got the $40 PDA Personal Max plan instead of the $70 PDA Personal Max plan with tethering. I downloaded and installed PdaNet, but I'm getting an error of "Modem error, PdaNet might not support your phone (err=1072). I tried searching HoFo for "BlackJack PdaNet" and did the same with Google, but I'm really coming to a dead end. Does PdaNet simply not support the BlackJack, or do I have to mess with some settings to get it to work properly?

Samsung :: M300 Or M510 And Linux
I'm considering getting either the Samsung M300 or M510. Is it possible to interface with either of these phones on a PC running Linux, and if so to what extent? Can I sync contacts between the phone and a Linux program (Evolution, KMail, etc. I don't care)? Can I move files, mp3 ringtones, and pictures to or from the phone?

Samsung :: M510 - Battery Drain
I recently purchased a Samsung M510 phone. I love the phone and it's features my issue is the batter seems to drain within a day! I have sent today after a 10hr charge 15text messages sent today and I am already down to 1 bar left. I have made no voice calls. Has anyone heard of these issues or can help me out. This is my third phone of this model from the same store as I love the model and they don't offer another that I like. Could it be a bad lot of phones?

Samsung :: M510 - Alarm Clock
Got a samsung m510 yesterday. This morning the alarm didn't go off as I turned off the ringer to avoid waking up from text messages and whatnot...didn't know that would turn off the alarm too. I've tried turning off the phone, putting ringer off, etc. The alarm just won't go off. Is there a fix somewhere that I can download? Other than that I'm happy with the phone (well, if I could upload iTap onto the phone, I would) but no alarm could be a deal breaker for me...basic feature.

Just got my M510 and I can't figure out how to disable the secondary modem NAI. The instructions for the M500 don't work for me. Neither "Menu > Settings > Display > *" nor "Menu > Settings > Display > 0". I also can't get to the hidden Bluetooth menu some people have claimed to get into in Menu > Settings > Bluetooth > #.I tried ##__MSL__# but doesn't give me a disable NAI option, neither does ##DEBUG# or ##DATA#.I've seen three or four people on various forums claiming they disabled it, but no one has told how. Anybody know?

Samsung :: M510 PC Studio And Data Cable
i just bought a data cable off ebay for my samsung m510 and it doesn't seems to be detected by neither my phone of computer. I installed the drivers but nada. When I go in PC Studio I click Connect on USB and I does nothing at all. When I go, on the phone, in Menu - Tools - Mass Storage - Connect To PC it says Please connect USB Cable.

My wife has the Samsung SPH-M510 for Sprint and it just reboots like every 30 seconds whether your doing anything on it or not. What is going on with this? Is there anything I can do? She can't get on it to do anything and I really don't feel like buying her a new phone.

Is there a shortcut to set the Samsung M510 to vibrate mode? On all my old Samsungs, I would just hold '#', but they seemed to have removed this function? The manual says to hold the volume down button until it goes to vibrate, but it just doesn't have the ease of just holding pound .

Is there a way to get an event to repeat weekly? I tried clicking the "Weekly" option as noted in instructions (See attached directions), even changing the end date to a future date. I cannot get it to repeat! Is there a bug with the phone? To add an event: 1. Select Menu > Tools > Calendar > Scheduler. 2. Using your navigation key, highlight the day to which you would like to add an event and press. 3. Select Add New ( ). 4. Enter a title for the event and select Next ( ). (See “Entering Text” on page 51.) 5. Press the navigation key left or right to select one of the following: Appointment, Business, Personal, Vacation, or Birthday. 6. I'm also wondering if there's a way to restrict the Web Browser on the phone because I didn't subscribe to any service and do not wish to be charged large amounts of money for something I don't want to use (accidental openings will cost a fortune)Also I heard about these data cables for the phone, and I was wondering if there was any software that would be useful for anything pertaining to the phone. Samsung :: M510 Not Installing Jad - Jar Or Gcd - Gc
I got my USB cable today, after a bit of messing around finally managed to install a few ringtones, apps and animated wallpapers with QPST 2.7 build 215 by placing the JAD and JAR, or GC and GCD in the /brew/shared/jas/temp/install/ directory and sending the reset command with QPST. But at some point during the day, my cellphone stopped rebooting twice upon sending the reset command to complete the install. The firmware still removes the files from the install directory though, but they don't show up anywhere in the Apps or ringtones menu. I did get a disk space insufficient message one, but removed (through the phone's menus) some apps and tones I had installed earlier, plus some leftover videos on the internal memory to make room. So there is now enough space on the phone's memory. Would there be some sort of reset I could do? I have access to another m510 if that can help.

I'm looking to get a cheap replacement phone, and I'd like to be able to use the accessories I already have for my wife's Samsung M510 (on Sprint).I noticed that an older Samsung used a standard looking round plug type as a charging port, yet some of the newer ones (such as the lady's m510) use a proprietary connector on what looks like a shared data port.Is there any rhyme or reason to which Samsungs have compatible ports and plugs with which other Samsungs?I'm looking for phones with the same plug as the m510, specifically. I was looking at the a640, the m300, the a900... but I want to check first to see which ones are compatible with the cables and accessories that I have.Anyone here able to help point me in the right direction, or share your own experience?

Samsung :: M510 Screen Goes White / Front Display Turns Off
I bought a Samsung m510 last summer and have been pretty happy with it until a month or so ago when it started doing weird things. The strangest part about it is that something different happens every time. Every couple hours or so, one of the following will happen regardless of whether the phone is being used or just sitting in my pocket: Screen goes white Screen gets a white tinge, and every time it is opened and closed it goes more and more white until it finally turns fully white Screen turns off Screen flips upside down Screen moves all the pixels around (meaning that the top half of the screen will be on the bottom and the bottom half of the top or something like that) Half of screen goes into random pixels but the rest works fine Phone randomly power cycles (not too often, but does happen) Outside display turns off Outside display flips upside down Outside display turns into a sepia color scheme + more Pretty much anything and everything is happening to my phone. I have no clue what is going on. The most common problems are the outside display not turning on, which is really annoying because I like to check the time or the screen going white. Sometimes pressing a few buttons will fix the problems, especially for the weird screen orientations, but for the most part I need to turn off the phone and turn it back on. This always fixes it for another couple hours until something else happens, which makes me think that it is a firmware problem instead of a hardware one. How can I fix this then? Is there anyway to reset the firmware of my device? I have my MSL code. I talked to my service provider (Solo Mobile through Bell Mobility) and they wanted to send it off for 6 weeks which I would like to avoid if possible.

i bought a Samsung M510 from Solo Mobile in replacement of my Nokia 6275i a couple weeks ago.I was wondering is there any way to allow Java J2ME apps to run on the phone? I know some good sites and apps I'd really like to use on my phone, but Solo (aka Bell) seems to lock down all their phones.Also, is there any "Nokia PC Suite"-alike software for Samsung phones? Phone I'm using is Samsung m510. I tried visiting a specific site but it tells me to enable javascript support in your browser. The browser it uses by default is "Obigo Browser Q04C1-1.22 Build on Aug 27 2007". How do I enable javascript and/or is there an update available for this browser? (I tried installing Opera Mini but get a Mismatch Error)
