Ive spent the last few days trying to source an answer to my connections problems. Both in the office and at home i can connect to my wifi network....shows wifi logo (but grey), connection name, flashing green light on my phone and i can see connection details, however when i turn off Mobile Network and try and access the internet i get a connection failed. I can browse the intrenet via 3g, but obvioulsy this is way too slow for what i want to use the phone for. The security connection is wep, type is 802.11b/g.....
My phone is connected to WIFI at home. When I browse the internet this is fine. When I try to download apps, the connection seems to look for T Mobile Internet and says Unable to browse. Why doesn't the phone pick up my WIFI as default internet connection? How to setup so that WIFI is picked up as the default internet connection. Pls help.

Have a new e52 with the latest firmware. The problem is when I connect to a WiFi access point, but then leave the area and try to re-connect, it keeps trying to access the last WiFi spot. I have to turn off WiFi then try and re-connect to the Internet.
My girlfriend has a BB Curve 9300, it was working all fine on the OS5. Last weekend she asked me if i could update her software, and i did so from the Blackberry Desktop Software and updated to OS6. Everything was working fine until we found out that it only connects to the internet if i use data service, but i dont want to because we have wi-fi at home. When i turn data services and while roaming OFF, and put wi-fi preferred, and when i try to open a web page in the browser it pop ups a window saying "Data Services are disabled. Go to Mobile Network to enable".
I just bought Neo V 3 days ago. First day I connected it to internet which I use at home via Wifi. There was no any problem, there was internet connection. But 1 day after it's gone. I'm connecting wifi (sees it, enters password and connects) but there is no internet connection. I surfed on internet to detect problem and all i found was 'changing wep to wpa' . (I'm using u.s. robotics 9106 as modem) But it didn't work out too.
my Blackberry Pearl 9105 connects to WIFI, however, when I open the browser, an error occurs, saying, that I have no internet connection. In the settings screen I've found that there's some problem with SVN.
Four days ago I upgraded from a 8310 to a 9700. I am having a problem with WiFi. If I am browsing the internet and have WiFi and Mobile Network both enabled the browsing is only through mobile Network. If I turn off Mobile Network my browsing is over WiFi, same location good WiFi signal strength. If both are enabled, the Mobile Network has no service. I cannot browse the internet unless I turn off Mobile Network. I have OS V22.214.171.1245 and AT&T service. Nice phone but if I want the faster internet service using WIFI I have to turn off the phone service.
I have an unlocked Bold 9650 that I use on the T-Mobile network with a Blackberry data plan. I have two problems. First, I can't send MMS messages. Second, whenever I try to use the internet, it says, "This is a wifi service. please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again." I was told that I have to switch the default browser from "hotspot browser" to "internet browser," but "hotspot browser" is the only option.
I am using a Blackberry Bold 9780 for 10 months now, offlate having a difficulty connecting to the internet using Wifi connectivitty. I have not updated any software ever. The device shows it is connected to the Wifi router but when I try to open any websites, returns a blank page.

My iPhone 4S (with IOS 5.1 and all other App updated) is having an issue with it's internet connection. It remains connected to WiFi fine.Mail/Safari/App Store/Facebook/any internet based app cannot access the internet. No error screen is shown. The standard WiFi icon and the rotating 'in progress' wheel next to it.Sometimes I can restore the in app internet connection by turning WiFi off and then on again but not always.
So what is going on. I've not changed any setting recently to either my iPhone or router. Both have been working fine for months. My iPad and wife's iPhone are both fine also.

My XOOM returned from 4G upgrade refusing to search for WiFi once it has been allowed to connect 4G. I have experimented with many ways to improve this including changing from CDMA/LTE to CDMA only (just to test 3G connections), disabling the 'data enabled' setting, disabling WiFi too, then turning on WiFi both before and after blanking the screen, and trying all 3 options of when to change from 4G to WiFi (after screen blank, etc.). The only fix is a complete shutdown and cold boot for it to wake up and search for WiFi. The WiFi in question are the same I used before the 4G upgrade and nothing has changed but the XOOM hardware and presumably software. If it is restricted to WiFi only and I move from home to office to a public WiFi, it will happily switch back and forth UNTIL I coax it into a 4G connection. Then, it takes a cold reboot.
i've been trying to get t-zones and the mms to work on this phone.. and i am having a rather difficult time... i've talked to the t-mo customer serv. and the pda specialist there and they couldnt help.. so can anyone help me setup this phone to work with tmobile in the US?
I have nokia 5800. I am able to connect to my office wi-fi with this. And after connecting when I do Start Browsing, I am also able to browse sites successfully. But when I go to home screen -> menu -> internet -> facebook, and try to open it. It shows me "Connecting through AirTel" even though my wi-fi is still connected, this facebook is trying to connect to internet with my service provider internet. Can anybody please tell me how can I educate facebook application to use my wi-fi internet connection and not the service provider one?
Either after updating Clippy or installing SBSettings I seem to be losing my internet connection over Edge, 3G, and Wifi for some applications. The applications will work normal and then after time they won't connect to the internet at all. The two applications that seem to be the worst offenders are RadarScope and Byline. Both require an internet connection and both can't connect. I end up restarting the phone and then they work again. Then later on they don't work again. Anyone else seeing this? I'll try removing these extra apps one by one and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, I'll prolly update to 2.2.1 and start from scratch.
I have recently upgraded my iPhone4S from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1. Since then I observerd my battery is draining rapidly when internet connection is active either WiFi/3G. Even the phone is kept idle without using anything, under settings->usage its showing as used (Usage Time & standby time both are increasing) When internet connection (WiFi/3G) is kept off, battery backup is good and settings->usage is showing only the actual iPhone usage only. But with internet battery drains very rapidly almost 20% for an hour or so.
Does anyone know how to get internet access on a wifi connection that is open (no password to connect), but needs a password before you are able to get internet access?
This is a common situation in hotels that have free access, but don't want every tom, **** and harry around the hotel using their connection. They give you a common username/password when you check in.
For clarification, this is what happens when you you connect to the wifi on a pc: You click on the wifi connection and it connects. No password pops up asking you for a encryption key.
However, when you open up a browser, before you can go to your home page, you have to put in a password here. One you put in the password, you are good to go.
I turned off the mobile network on the blackberry so that I just want to use the wifi. On the Blackberry, I am connected to the wifi network--it says "WIFINETWORKNAME" on the home screen after I turn off the mobile connection. When I open up a browser, I am not getting the screen to put in the password in when I open up the browser. It just says no connection available.
On the connection screen, instead of there being a green checkmark next to the network, there is a white "-".
Really loving this phone (8520) and a massive leap from my last phone.
Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and I get the message "unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"
I have a problem concerning my W715's WiFi. I enable it, find my router, but when I try to access internet my phone says "connection failure. check settings etc." I have went through every little setting, but still - no WiFi internet for me.
Last night when I turned on my wifi at home, the wifi and phone signal bars appeared but were gray and I had no internet/data connection. I checked the wifi settings which indicated I was connected with good to excellent signal. Toggled the Wifi on and off several times, and turned phone on and off, which did not work. Went into wifi settings and told it to forget settings and reconnected, same result. When I turn off wifi, 3G appears and data connection is restored. Left the phone on in the media dock all night, and this morning when I turned on wifi, all was fine. What does gray signal bar mean?
I am with orange and I have 500MB data per month. When I try and use the mobile network internet it says 'This is a WiFi service. Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.
