Samsung :: Omnia - Favorite 3rd Party Applications
I'm finally getting my Samsung Omnia today, after spending some time with Blackberry (World Edition, Pearl, Curve, Storm). I had several of some of these Blackberries, and finally am frustrated to the point that I'm returning to the Windows platform. Don't know why I waited so long! The first app I plan on downloading is Mobile Shell. What are some of your other fave apps?

Samsung :: AT&T Omnia I900 - Windows Mobile 6.1 - MMS And Internet Settings
I have a Samsung Omnia i900 and canít find the Internet or MMS settings for AT&T anywhere. It runs windows mobile 6.1 so not sure if it is the same as other 6.1 devices.
The places that it appears that I have to set things are as follows:
3)Check box for this network connects to the internet
4)Check box for this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet
6)There is an Advanced button that has HTTP, WAP, Secure WAP, and Socks types. For each type it ask for the Server, Server Port Number, Username, Password, and Domain.
1)Profile Name (donít think this matters)
3)Data Connections (I think you select the My Internet profile that would be created for AT&T)
4)Gateway- dropdown options are WAP 1.0, WAP 2.0, or NONE
Also, before you say that MMS/Internet settings are available everywhere please understand that I have tried for about a week now and can not find ALL of these settings. I have been able to get the internet to work but no luck at all on the MMS. I actually own a chain of AT&T stores and have spent countless hours with tech support and browsing on the internet and no matter how I transpose the settings that I am able to find I can't get everything to work.

Samsung :: External Hard Drive On Omnia - Windows Mobile
I pretty much scoured the internet, but I couldn't find one. What I am trying to find out, is if it would be possible to connect a usb hard drive to a samsung omnia (windows mobile) phone and be able to copy data to it. I really have no idea how this might be possible, whether it would work by finding some sort of usb (female) to micro sd (male) adapter or what...you tell me. The other question is would the phone even recognize that large of a volume (in the 100's of GB).

Samsung :: Blackjack II - Free Cool Applications Available For The Device?
I have a Blackjack II phone and have had it for a few months now. I recently discovered the Google maps application and so far I'm impressed with it. I've also visited the windows mobile website and looked at some of their stuff, but didn't seem to be to impressed with it. After messing with the google maps a little, that got me wondering. What other applications (free preferably) are out there that you can't live without? I'm into more practical applications than anything, but games and whatnot are cool too.

Samsung :: Delve - Turning Off Mp3 Player Repeat Songs Mode / Free Access To Applications With Data Plan?
I can't get my Delve to stop repeating songs while in the Mp3 player mode. I've pressed all the buttons, switched from playlists, to albums, to individual songs, etc. No matter what. Even when I press, "Next Song, Previous Song." The damn thing still stays on the same song! Also, I have a SmartPhone plan with Alltel, doe's that mean all the perks, TV, Navigator, Internet, Weather, etc. are free? The downloader says, "Download now for free access to this App?"

Samsung :: Omnia Vs Omnia II
I'm with Telus atm. pay-to-talk since my contract expired and I'm shopping for a new phone.
Telus has the Omnia for 3 yr. $0 for the phone
Bell has the OmniaII for 3 yr. $99 for the phone
I'm going to opt out of a data plan (wifi should be fine for my usage) and get the equivalent of fav5 (or the bell equal) since I really only talk to my wife and a couple other numbers.
Question is - is the OmniaII enough better than the Omnia i910 to justify starting with Bell and the $99? Second part - should I get an unlocked version from the states and bring it to Bell/Telus (I think from what I read that would allow things like the GPS to work here in Canada)

HTC :: No Free Wi-Fi On HERA110 (T-mobile Wing)
have a T-mobile Wing (aka HTC HERA110) and cannot browse to any web pages while connected to any unsecured wifi access point. When I try to load the web page I consistently get the message "cannot find server" even though the device shows that I am solidly connected with a good transfer rate. Suprisingly, when I connect to my WEP enabled Wifi network at home, I can load web pages to my heart's desire. Anyone have the same problem and have some solutions? Here are the settings I've applied for a sample unsecured access point in the device wifi settings:
Configure Wireless Network:
Connects to: Internet
hidden network box not checked
Configure Network Authentication:
Data Encryption: Disabled
No other boxes checked

Samsung :: From N95 To Omnia
I am going to write this review for the few people who are still on their N95's and waiting to see if the Omnia is for them. This may help others as well.
I got my Omnia a few days ago. I unboxed it and thought this thing looks sleek. Imagine an Iphone but cooler. I'm not an Iphone fanboy and have never had a thing for the product. I looked at it for about 20 minutes just taking in the way it looks. It's really a good looking phone. Then inserted my sim card and said good bye to my old N95. I feel bad for her. She was good to me. The Omnia comes with a screen protector from Samsung. I bought my phone from a retailer, so I didn't recieve one. Not a big deal. It's not needed but preferred.
Onto the build. The build of the phone is very solid, but I don't want to drop it. Or even try to drop it at all. It's a solid phone, just not one I would feel safe about dropping, like the N95. There are plenty of pictures of the phone online, it shows you how the phone really is.
A stylus comes with the phone. It is really a useless stylus. Even for setting up the phone, it's useless. If you get the stylus, I suggest putting it back in the box and forgetting about it.
A pair of headphones comes with the phone. I'm not a fan of samsung's port it uses for the headphones. The headphones are great though.
There's a bulky phone charger that came with the phone. I went straight to T-Mobile and got myself a charger that was far smaller. Probably the best accessory I bought for the phone so far.
There are some instruction manuals and a cd that came for the phone, I haven't used them, as I don't need to load anything onto the phone. Everything I need I have put on via the SDMicro.
The Touch Screen is amazing. As much I want to say the Iphone touch screen is great, this phones is just as good, if not better. It is very straight forward and simple, even with my pudgy fingers I can hit the little x on the top right corner, or the ok. It's been specifically made for me, or people like me. The haptic feedback is great. I love feeling the vibration on the phone when I use it. It's a great upgrade from the N95 buttons. The interface, as much as I know people who dislike windows mobile is very user friendly. After playing with the phone one night, it is the right phone for me. I was able to customize my ringers and my pictures on the phone very easily. The software, has everything anyone could ever need.
If any other questions arise feel free to ask.

Samsung :: Omnia - Language App
I am looking to buy this phone for a client. I have seen a few on Eb**, but the sellers don't seem to know much about them. Can the phone be set to full spanish menus out of the box, or will it require a language app, like the Iphone.

Samsung :: Epix Better Than Omnia?
So I posted this in "phone battle" but I guess people just like to read a thread and not give suggestions had 40 views, no replys, lol. So: Ok guys, well my iphone is breaking, and apple wants 200 to fix it, again.so I have decided to go with something else.
Most important things
-Good web browsing
-Can hold my music
-Can text well (the iphone was fine)
- Battery life
-Windows Mobile 6.1
- touch screen
-Browser is all I can think of, I went to At&t and I could not manage to zoom in and out (yes I am new to WiMo) is it difficult to browse the internet with this?
-Better touch screen
-Possibly best web browsing of the bunch
- touch screen (I know it probably does not even compare to the iphone)
- No keypad
- Possible con- does the device have to search for music everytime you go to music? I saw this on the instinct where it would say "please wait"
-Built in memory, no expansion
- Good web viewing (i think)
- Performance, this thing looks unresponsive
- battery life (around 4 hours? what a joke)
So ya guys, any suggestions for me? I still have 6months left on my at&t so I am also debating renewing my contract, so I could pay full price for this phone, then have the freedom to go to any provider and get a rebate on the phone, or can I use the rebate now and renew, and buy a phone at full price later. I really want a WiMo 7 phone, so will prolly upgrade when that comes along, will you be able to update a 6.1phone to windows 7?
