I bought a o2 nokia 6700 last week but the internet connection seems to be very slow. I can get onto msn and it seems fine but other websites and address i try to get into either take ages to load or fail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.

The internet connection on my 1020 is extremely slow when WIFI is connected (every other device I own is fine and can easily clear 30 meg download, 5 meg up.) When I use search, the phone screen times out and shuts off before returning any results (times out after 1 minute). I have reset the phone this morning to start over but the problem remains. The speed is perfect using Data and WIFI off, but once WIFI is enabled, the internet comes to a near halt.

It's ongoing and no reason for it. Battery life is reduced drastically as it seems it can't find a connection.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if it's some fuction on the phone that is trying to connect or what.It wasn't bothering me that much until this morning when my alarm didn't go off. When I looked at my phone the little display box was on the screen and only when I cancelled that did the alarm go off. A text message also came in when the display box was cancelled, although it had been sent an hour earlier.I can't really rely on the alarm function until I get this sorted out so if anyone has any tips?

So in the first place, there is no option to disable packet data or internet access at all. I can only choose between on demand and always online. I tried to make new hoax profiles with made up usernames and passwords for those data links and access points and set them as defaults but this phone always just connects to the internet by edge after all.
I also can't just delete my provider's access points which seem to be sitting on the sim card or however that works. On sony ericsson devices there is at least some kind of workaround which works by setting the access points to ask for a password before they actually connect but in this phone there doesn't seem to be any option to protect myself to go online by accident.
I have tried this on 3 different Nokia E6 phones, on GPRS with 5bars, 3G with 5bars and at home over wifi. All internet traffic is really slow, when on the browser downloading the SIS file for google maps, it took 5mins to download just 160k. Once I did get it installed, the Google Maps app take ages to load map tiles, and emails take about a minute to download an email with just a few lines of text.
When using OVI store, pages load really slow. So all internet apps are slow. The phone overall is quick. All this in an edge or 3G area with 5bars, and 3 phones do the exact same. All firmware ver 22.14. Same settings, area and sim card in my Nokia E71 and E72 are perfect.
I need help, I had a software issue with my original N900 and Nokia have replace my handset with a new one. The problem now is that I can not access the internet. I have called my service provider and they have sent me the settings and they have check on they side and have found no issues. They have advise me to go back to nokia to check the set up of the phone.Does anyone know if I have to set up or change any setting in the phone to access the Net?

I just updated my E72 yesterday and apart from fixed bugs, now I've got more serious problems. I couldn't connect to the internet for sure. It says "No connection available". Besides, when I look into my contacts, I couldn't use the search mode. It says "Building cache. Search will be available in a moment."I've done everything, from re-update the same firmware version and also restoring phone settings, hard reset. Nothing happened. Not fixed.

I can do "Connect to Internet" (from the tools menu) when the phone is linked via the USB cable. When it's on the Bluetooth, the option "Connect to Internet" is greyed out and not available.
Even if I go Tools -> Options, when I click "Connect to Internet" to configure something, PC Suite shows "You must connect your device to be able to change settings".
I just got a new Nokia N97 mini today. I was really excited to log onto the internet, but it doesn't work, using O2 Mobile Web on pay as you go (unlimited internet).
I can log onto the internet if I connect to my router, through the WLAN, but I'm assuming you can connect through the network provider too, for if you want to use the internet while out of the house?
I called up O2 services and they set they didn't have any listed settings that they could send to me, and that it would be best if I just look through google.
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with O2, and if it could be fixed? Or if I should just get a new SIM card with another network that can provide unlimited internet on pay as you go, and that WILL work on my new phone?

After successfully getting everything to work I noticed that my internet connection to Orange always switches on, even after going to connection manager and disabling it. I have tried everything I know but am unable to stop the phone doing this. It really drains the battery. I found that when I hold the red button the phone asks if it can close the data packet connection. After a while it connects again automatically. There is no open applications. I have changed the internet connection so that it asks for user confirmation and if I cancel it, it just pops up again after a while.
