Nokia :: PC Suite Alternative ?
I'm fed up with the immense bloat and all the problems with the Nokia PC Suite, so I'm looking for a PC Suite alternative. Possibly free.I would just need to backup my contacts, SMS/MMS and notes. I don't expect it to backup phone settings, since not even Nokia PC Suite can do that (!!!), but if that works even better.

Nokia :: Alternative To Opera?
we know Opera Mobile 8.65 doesn't work on many of the newer Nokia phones running S60. And we don't want to use Opera Mini because it defeats the purpose behind having a smartphone. The built-in S60 browser is ok but that's about it.

Nokia :: N97 Music Player - Alternative
Is there a better / alternative music player available anywhere for the N97? The default player is poor in my opinion - the player I had on my 2 year old Sony W960 was way ahead of this Nokia product. Simple things like being able to hide artists associated with compilations seems to be missing.

Nokia :: N97 - Any Opinion On Alternative Handsets?
I had been really looking forward to upgrading my N95 8gb to an N97 but it seems that Orange in the UK have decided to ban it (they did it to the N96 too). They report the problem being software related and that there have been major issues with the uk version of the handset. I know that orange put their own firmware on their badged handsets and wondered if that was the issue. My concern is that I don't want to start a new contract through a reseller if the phone ends up being dodgy and I have to deal with Nokia instead of orange customer care as their repair/replace policy is very good. Does anyone have any opinion on this or alternative handsets? Orange recommend the N86 or E71 or E75 instead but they all seem radically different.

As far as I know there is "Nokia Wireless Keyboard SU-8W" product designed specially for nokia phones. But is there any chance to use regular bluetooth PC keyboard with nokia phones (e75)? I guess there might be some drivers or apps that allow connection between nokia phone and other regular bluetooth devices (PC keyboards, mouses etc).

Im a proud new owner of the 5310 Nokia phone. I just need some advice ( no luck on google). I want to be able to plug my phone into my Macbook and have it sync my music. I don't want to manually add to the phone all the recent music I have downloaded. Any suggestions? which software should I use?

Nokia :: E72 Chat Using Alternative Access Points
For some reason Chat (the built-in IM client) on my E72 always uses my mobile phone provider's data connection, even though I am connected to WLAN at home. Other applications use WLAN, because it has a higher priority on my "Internet" destination in Connection settings.Chat doesn't seem to have any options at all to select the access point it uses.

I upgraded my phone partly cos my 9500 is not isync compatible. I want to fling my PC, but it is networked to my mac - why cannot Microsoft Entourage read Microsoft Outlook files? How long is it likely to take Nokia to launch an official plug-in? How good are the alternative plug-ins? ...does anyone do one for the N97 mini? Any other way of getting my Contacts and calendar onto my mac (snow leopard)?

Does anyone have a list of alternative web browsers for the 5800xm. I'm fed up with it crashing every 5 minutes. I've tried Opera Mini, and whilst it's stable, and really pretty. Some pages just don't display correctly. Trying to watch BBC TV Simulcast with Opera, and it doesn't recognise something possibly the country.

The Nokia Music Player that came with my E52 is not good, are there any (free!) alternatives? How about an iTunes for S60.I have problems with m4a files, and podcasts not being added (or not visible) to Music library (even if the file is there, and I can play it from the folder).

Nokia :: OVi Suite - Update Phone Using PC Suite With Updater Software
I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite. The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

How can I make my nokia E71 sync back with PC Suite after I started using OVI Suite? I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

I got this phone 3 months ago, and it paired with PC Suite perfectly, till few days ago, when i lost connection with it, and now PC Suite and OVI Suite can't find my phone. I checked bluetooth device that im using, and made sure that phone bluetooth is on. In Attachment is shown how PC Suite and Bluetooth react when i try to reconnect the phone.

Nokia :: N900 Smart Suite And Ovi Suite
Have a N900. Got the phone to work against Smart Suite and later Ovis Suite very well for the first 3 weeks. Then the trouble started. I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this?? Hope for help without re-intsalling the machine.

I have an email from Nokia support telling me so and that its OK to run BOTH sets of software. BUT the POINT of MY email to them was I DO NOT WANT to cluter my PC up with 100s of 'ragtail' Nokia software products - I want all the functionality encapsulated in one product which is why both these products are supposed to do so by NAMING their products ' Nokia xxxx SUITE ' 2. I used LIFEBLOG under PC suite extensively. All my SMS text messages are saved and stored because I use this DATA for business communications. SMS is a record just like an email. It is invaluable to me to have an accurate record of ALL my SMS text messages. I was experiencing problems with Lifeblog NOT transfering ALL my SMS messages from the phone to Nokia PC suite. New messages not previously transfered to my PC were not picked up my the Lifeblog software as being needed to be transfered to my computer. I still dont know why it doesnt recognise these messages. Is there some sort of 'flag' put on the message in the phone data ? Why cant I CHOOSE which INDIVIDUAL Messages that I want transfered. AND why cant I set a control to transfer the message from the phone to the PC MORE than ONCE. (For instance I may inadvertantly have deleted a record of an SMS message on Lifeblog but the message is still in the phone memory and I want to transfer that message again - but there is NO way that I can see to do this..........

I have just replaced my N70 with the N85 and was using PC Suite.I now see that there is another PC application called Ovi Suite which does a lot of what PC Suite already does.I cannot decide whether to continue using Pc Suite or install Ovi Suite.What advantages are there using OVi Suite.Any advice would be gratefully received.
