Nokia :: Settings Wizard - Keeps Aborting Whilst Trying To Sync With Outlook
Have installed PC Suite and gone through the settings wizard but the sync keeps aborting whilst trying to sync with outlook. Today it actually managed to sync one-way, adding some of my phone calendar entries to my outllook calendar, but it did not sync from outlook to phone despite having a two-way sync set up. Have read through some of the previous threads and completely re-set the settings from scratch as suggested, but still not working.

Nokia :: E72 Settings Wizard Crashes If Try To Add An Account Thats Not Using Nokia Messaging
Having read good reviews about the E72's messaging capabilities i decided to upgrade from the E71 wich has never let me down.It seems that Nokia Messaging isn't working at all as it should. These problems appear already from the beginning.
- The settingswizard crashes if you try to add an account thats not using Nokia Messaging. People are forced to create a Nokia Messaging account eventhough they just want to use a direct connection between their phone and their mailssystem. After you've added the Messagingaccount in the client the wizard works also for normal mail setup.
- Since i use a GOOD mailsystem with IMAP idle (fastmail.fm) I don't see ANY reason to let my mail pass through Nokia's server!!!!! It takes extra time, privacymatters etc etc. It's just a needless step.
So... i added a Nokia Messaging account to the client just for making it work with my ordinaire mailsystem. BUT now it seems that my mailbox is more off- than online. IMAP idle symply doesn't work in this client! I tired with Profimail on the E72 wich gives no problems. Profimail stays connected. The E71 doesn't have this problems at all.

Nokia :: N96 / BBC IPlayer Only Working Thru WLAN / Settings?
I have actually been pretty happy with my N96, having previously had an N95 which also worked pretty well. Just recently however, I have not been able to use the BBC iPlayer. Although I am able to enter the website via my home WLAN, when I select the programme I want to watch, a box appears that advises that a WIFI connection is required to allow the programme to play. When I attempt to connect via 'orange internet' or 'orange GPRS', the connection times-out. I am also having intermittent problems connecting to the internet other than via WLAN.
I think I must have inadvertently changed some connection settings. Can anyone help me put the settings back to the ones that worked initially?
While it didn't merit a separate query of its own, I am unable to access any programme guides for the 'mobile tv', and can therefore not access any digital television. Is this simply down to the fact that the internal aerial is not strong enough to detect a programme guide? If so, are there any external aerial options, or are signal strengths likely to improve in the short-term?

Nokia :: 5530 XM WLAN / WiFi Settings Are Missing
Ok so here is the deal, I'm using up-to-date(v. 20.0.080) nokia 5530 and today while I was using TuneWiki my WLAN got disconnected. So I tried to reconnect and found my wifi option completely gone. Now I can't even try to connect to WLAN, as if wifi option was disabled or erased. I already tried restarting the phone, resetting phone to original settings, removing battery for a while. I don't know what to do, so if someone dealt with similar problem please help or at least advice me what should I do next.

Nokia Nseries :: N8 WLAN Proxy Settings - Saving User Id And Password?
I've looked around on the net but have not been able to find a solution to this problem.Using an N8 (on Nokia Belle), the WLAN settings does not seem to provide any place to specify the username and password for a proxy based network (Note:this is not the pre-shared key for the WLAN, but the username and password asked by the proxy server). When the browser is used, it prompts for the username and password and then works. However other applications cannot connect to this network as they seemingly lack this feature and the phone does not make this globally available.Nokia Configuration Tool (NCT) 6.3 seems to allow placement of username and password values. When configuration is transferred back to phone, NCT shows successfully configured, but this does not seem to be the case when the settings are used by the phone.

Nokia :: N97 Email Setup Wizard
My N97 was in for repair recently - it totally froze and wouldn't boot up. That has been fixed and firmware v.20 has been flash installed as well. So far, so good.
BUT, I now find that the Nokia E-mail Setup wizard keeps cutting in and asking to connect to the internet. How can I stop this? Uninstall the e-mail widget? I have incidentally set up my e-mail boxes so I don't need that setup wizard.

Nokia :: 5800 Email Setup Wizard Runs On Startup
and cured it? I downloaded the Nokia mail (for S60), set up 2 accounts with no problem and can use the mail with no difficulties. However, every time I start my phone, the question "Allow application to use network to send or receive data?" comes up. If I reply "No" then everything continues as normal. If I say "yes" the email setup wizard starts for setting up a new account. Does anyone know how to stop this startup behaviour?

Eseries / Communicators :: Nokia E71 - Email Setup Wizard / Unable To Connect To Sever
I can view the person who had this phones email account, but I can't set my new one up. I use the "email setup wizard" go into it, connect, and then it asks me my email address, I enter the CORRECT one and that's as far as this thing will let me go. I don't even get to the part where it asks me for a Password. after I enter my email address it tries to connect to the server (which is yahoo mail) and then I get the message "Unable to connect to server. Try again later."....And that's all it keeps doing. I have no clue how to set up an email on this phone. I use it with my WAN connection and with my providers internet and get the same message both times.

Nokia :: X6 Does Not Use Wlan
So I picked up my brand new X6 today, and it's a really great phone. However what I notice is that for certain apps like the ovi store or maps, I cannot choose a connection which it should go through, and it always connects through my operator's network instead of my WLAN which is in range...How can I change connection behavious for these (and other) applications? I already set my connection order to Wlan first and then the operator connection, which works fine for ebuddy to give an example...so what's wrong with the other stuff?

Nokia :: Use GPS Under WLAN?
How do you use the GPS under your WLAN? I got the GPS working once.used it and it was fine. But ever since then I haven't been able to get it to work. I have set my connection to 'online' and the Network destination to 'Internet' (VF Au Internet). When i try to use it all it says in the top right hand corner is connecting, but never connects. Other times it says sign in and I attempt to but says there is 'no connection'.Sometimes when i change some of these options to test it it freezes on me and sometimes resets itself. What settings are wrong or what am I doing wrong?

Broadcast SSIS = Yes
Channel ID = choose want you want
Authentication type = choose WEP 64 bits (easier to work with)
Then Enter 4 hexadecimal keys with a prefix of 0x (zero x) e.g 0xa9bc1d3ef2
Make sure you use 802.11 b+g option, under advanced settings depending on your router
SEARCHING WLAN CONNECTION ON E51
3 Then USE your NOKIA E51 to scan for WLAN networks. when you find this network - with SSID name you set above, try to browse so that you get an option to save it as a DEFINED ACCESS POINT. save it
GETTING ROUTER IP SETTINGS
4 Now go to DOS command on the computer where the ROUTER is connected, and type ipconfig /all Then a list of your windows IP configuration will come on. Write down the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway, you will need these later on
SETTING UP YOUR E51

Phone IP Address = the one you wrote down, but with a bit of modification e.g if your wrote down IP is 10.0.0.100, here you will put 10.0.0.110 or so, only change the last 2 digits. Make sure you understand this
Subnet Mask = the one you wrote down
Default gateway = the one you wrote down
GO back to CONNECTION then choose Wireless LAN - Show WLAN Availability (enter your preference - YES or Never)
Now on the same screen Press OPTIONS button on the left side- Choose Advanced Settings and YES to continue
