Nokia :: N95 - Factory Reset Without Lock Code
I have an N95 and am having problems with the phone memory being full, and not being able to clear it.
I have read some of the other posts on the site and they have been really helpful.
The problem I have is that the Lock Code is not the default 12345, and I have never changed it!
Is it possible for me to do a reset some other way without the code, or will it need to go into the menders for them to do some hocus pocus on it and scam me for a few quid!

Anyhow I wanted to clear the phone and reset to factory settings but the phone asks for a lock code! I dont remember ever using a code, if I did I obviously have erased from my own memory.Maybe there was a default code I used? Does any one have any idea or option to remove lock code.

Nokia :: 5800 Does Factory Reset Also Reset Sim Lock?
I have a 5800, which has been unlocked by the provider (Tmobile) so I can use an 02 sim. The phone currently has the expired certificate problem, and as suggested in the forums a factory reset may fix this. I know that most of the phones setting will also be reset. But will a factory reset also reset the sim lock, and lock the phone back to Tmobile?

Nokia :: E71 Reset Lock Code
I've just upgraded the doftware on my phone to v200.21.118 and all seemed to be be well. Phone rebooted and then went through the set-up stage of asking which country, city, time etc.It the asks for the lock code and so I eneter the code I had changed it to ages ago, which doesn't work. So I figure that maybe the software update had reset the lock code to the original '12345' but this doesn't work either.Anyone have any idea how I can reset this? I'm now unable to use my phone! :-( I seem to remember on some old Nokias that you could enter like a master code to override this.

Nokia Nseries :: Lock Code Request After Hard Reset?
So I did a hard reset and I knew that I'll lose the Ovi Store. What it's completely new for me is that now each time I'm starting the phone I am requested to input the lock code. I have given 12345 but a message saying "Code fail" is shown and afterwards the phone works normally.1. Does anybody know why12345 is not working anymore?2. Does anybody know how could I remove this request at startup?3. Does anybody know why the phone does react if I am inputting an incorrect code only with a message "Code fail" - I would have expected a lock after multiple inputs but everything is OK.4. Does anybody know how can I change this code? - without flashing it at Nokia Service Center (just too far from me). I'm curious if 10000 tries would bring something alhough I am not interested in such a test

Sony Ericsson :: K850i Reset Your Phone Lock Code (A2 Phones)
Like so many people here, i have also forgotten my phone Lock Code. So today i have decided to reset it anyhow and while playing with my phone K850i - A2 phone, db3150, BINGO, i found the way. May be this should work with all platform phones. But still this has to be confirmed by the owner of different platform phones. The solution is- look in your FS in this folder. tpa/preset/default now delete this file- 'security_domain_settings'. That's it. Your Phone Lock Code is reset to 0000.Before deleting you might want to back up that file. Though it is not required. Tested by me.Pls confirm this method by different platform phone users. edit: Just found that by deleting this file, it is not recreated. so there might be some functions which will not be able to use if you delete it. But by activating it, it serves the purpose. asking for passward and all. if you give wrong passward, it will not let you access. Do it at your risk. this means if you forget the passward again, you will not able to retrive it. edit 2 : By flashing the phone this file is recreated and you will have the same passward as you have set after deleting that file. In my opnion, just flash your phone after you use the above mentioned method.

Nokia :: N85 - Firmware 20.175 Phone Constantly Asks For Lock Code - Entering Code Reads Error Message
As with a few people I have been having a couple of issues with my N85. Rebooting, Connection Errors, etc.Rang Nokia today to check to see if they had any solutions to the problem of the rebooting while charging and while on-hold thought I would check my firmware and got an update. One very small problem I have found though is that my phone keeps asking for my lock code, and when I enter the code 12345 (I have not changed it) I get a message that COde has been entered 5 times and will unblock in 5 mins. THe phone still works fine however so not sure what is going on there.

Nokia :: N85 - Reset To Factory Settings
I wanted to reset my new N85 to factory settings, remove all data and apps I'd put on it, etc. So I tried all of: 1. "Hard Reset" (aka "3-fingered salute" with 3 days on power-up). 2. *#7780# 3. *#7370# (just to see how each one behaved). The last one I did was *#7370* ("Format Phone"). I would think this would restore all the original software that had been on it. However, in "Installed Applications" it had nothing at all, and "N-Gage" was missing as well (it had been installed when I got the phone). Does anyone know if, perhaps, "*#7780#" restores those programs? Or do some things just disappear completely and can't be retored (except perhaps from the CD that came with the phone)?

Nokia Nseries :: N8 Factory Reset By Itself?
I was having connectivity issues with my n8, and found that if I turned it off then on again, it would work ok again.Yesterday I did this, and when it restarted, it came up with the "select a country" etc. It had done a factory reset by itself. I hadn't backed up for a while, and lost all my contacts and files, even the contacts stored on my SIM card!Plugging it into my PC to have a look, the mass memory says 14.2GB free of 14.2GB (ok, there is nothing left), but the phone memory says 0 free of 255MB. ie full! But checking all the folders, there is nothing there.

IPhone :: Want To Do Factory Reset / How To Backup Data Safely Prior To Reset?
I have an iPhone 3G with the latest OS.I have a Vista PC.I want to do a complete factory reset to original settings. My phone has become so slow, I want to a fresh install so that I can get back to how fast the phone was when it was new a year ago.I want to backup my contacts, music, videos, photos and safari bookmarks so that after a complete reset to factory settings, I can easily get back my data. What is the best and safest way to do this? Safest as in - it has been tried by others and works reliably.I know that iTunes has a backup feature, however I don't want to backup all the apps on my phone, just my data. I can put the apps back later on.I just need to be able to restore my contacts, music, videos, photos and safari bookmarks.

Nokia :: Error With Factory Reset - Freezing?
My N97 was beginning to play up a little bit recently, freezing a bit, odd issue with the wrong ringtone etc, plus an annoyance with the Boingo access point. I decided to perform a factory reset on the device as per some instructions on here. Firstly I did the reset via the multiple keypress on the slideout keyboard then carried out the Factory Reset via *#7370#. I backed up before just in case both to PC Suite and to a Micro SD Card. The phone rebooted after the reset OK and it was indeed cleared out of most of my settings. The phone looked as it did when I bought it so started offselecting date, time and location etc. You know the drill. When the homescreen appeared, two of the 'boxes' just said 'Loading' and nothing appeared in them, so I tried powering down the phone. When it came back up, same problem. I realised the missing boxes contained the Facebook, Accuweather and I think the Bloomberg widgets so I looked in Applications and they were'nt actually there. Searched the phone, no where to be seen. The Amazon widget was gone too. No problem I thought, so went to Ovi Store and managed to download and install Facebook and Accuweather. Both showed as successful (But no sign of the Bloomberg widget) so I turned phone off and back on and still nothing. However, this time I am greeted with two icons in the Applications directory for Accuweather and Facebook. Neither would delete using the backspace button on keyboard, neither show in the Installed Applications utility and neither will run if selected manually. After doing both resets (keyboard combo and the *#7370#) I realised all my texts were onboard as was all my music so a full reset isn't actually a full reset then is it as some of my data was preserved on the device (My MicroSD Card was removed at this point btw) I also have the same problem with it present.I have not been able to get the phone completely cleared out of everything and restored to the way it was when I took it out of the box for the first time. I even tried another hard reset and then performed a firmware reinstall. Is there anyone here who can help me out with clearing this device of everything and then putting it back to factory condition so I can start again properly as I am stumped at this point in time.
