Just sorting out some boxes and I found my old Clearnet/Telus SCH 8580. Thought I maybe able to give it away, who knows? If not it will go to a recycle box. Anyhow I wanted to clear the phone and reset to factory settings but the phone asks for a lock code! I dont remember ever using a code, if I did I obviously have erased from my own memory.Maybe there was a default code I used? Does any one have any idea or option to remove lock code.
I have a 5800, which has been unlocked by the provider (Tmobile) so I can use an 02 sim. The phone currently has the expired certificate problem, and as suggested in the forums a factory reset may fix this. I know that most of the phones setting will also be reset. But will a factory reset also reset the sim lock, and lock the phone back to Tmobile?
I have tried to restore the factory settings on my N95, but it keeps asking for a lock code which i do not kno, i have tried the usual '0000' but that doesn`t work. can anyone help, this is all because my text messaging sending doesn`t work, if you have any other ideas to help with that instaed of formatting the phone.
I've just upgraded the doftware on my phone to v200.21.118 and all seemed to be be well. Phone rebooted and then went through the set-up stage of asking which country, city, time etc.It the asks for the lock code and so I eneter the code I had changed it to ages ago, which doesn't work. So I figure that maybe the software update had reset the lock code to the original '12345' but this doesn't work either.Anyone have any idea how I can reset this? I'm now unable to use my phone! :-( I seem to remember on some old Nokias that you could enter like a master code to override this.
I have tried to format or reset my Nokia N81 for some time now. I have tried the 3 button stuff and all the other stuff posted online but couldn't work because I still need to get pass the lock code, which I have forgotten.

I recently bought a second-hand E45 however the owner set a lock code on the phone. I've tried resetting it to the original settings but it ALWAYS asks for a code, I've tried the Green button + * + 3 + On button reset but it doesn't work. I've also tried *#7370# but it still asks for a code. The last owner does not know the code so I am stuck with this!
So I did a hard reset and I knew that I'll lose the Ovi Store. What it's completely new for me is that now each time I'm starting the phone I am requested to input the lock code. I have given 12345 but a message saying "Code fail" is shown and afterwards the phone works normally.1. Does anybody know why12345 is not working anymore?2. Does anybody know how could I remove this request at startup?3. Does anybody know why the phone does react if I am inputting an incorrect code only with a message "Code fail" - I would have expected a lock after multiple inputs but everything is OK.4. Does anybody know how can I change this code? - without flashing it at Nokia Service Center (just too far from me). I'm curious if 10000 tries would bring something alhough I am not interested in such a test
i have set a security code on my phone and now when i enter it to unlock and use the device it rejects my code saying that its wrong, (my OLD 3330 used to do that but only after entering the code incorrectly a couple times you would then have to take the battery out and switch the phone on again then enter the code and it would work) so i have tried to take the battery out and still no luck.anybody know how to do a hard reset on the phone or a code that will reset the security code please help me
I carry a lot of personal info on my phone. It's encrypted.I have the lock code set & auto lock set for 10 mins... works fine. Why can't I invoke this lock manually ? .. so sometimes 5 / 10 / 15 mins is fine.. whatever. If I want to lock it NOW . why can't I ? besides it not being an option Would be nice to do a manual lock with PIN or lock code too.. like the normal key lock.
Like so many people here, i have also forgotten my phone Lock Code. So today i have decided to reset it anyhow and while playing with my phone K850i - A2 phone, db3150, BINGO, i found the way. May be this should work with all platform phones. But still this has to be confirmed by the owner of different platform phones. The solution is- look in your FS in this folder. tpa/preset/default now delete this file- 'security_domain_settings'. That's it. Your Phone Lock Code is reset to 0000.Before deleting you might want to back up that file. Though it is not required. Tested by me.Pls confirm this method by different platform phone users. edit: Just found that by deleting this file, it is not recreated. so there might be some functions which will not be able to use if you delete it. But by activating it, it serves the purpose. asking for passward and all. if you give wrong passward, it will not let you access. Do it at your risk. this means if you forget the passward again, you will not able to retrive it. edit 2 : By flashing the phone this file is recreated and you will have the same passward as you have set after deleting that file. In my opnion, just flash your phone after you use the above mentioned method.
I have a SE Naite which I must say is awesome. Yesterday the phone switched off due to low battery. But when I tried switching it on it is asking for a code. Since its been long I have forgotten it. Is there anyway to retrieve it or reset it? I tried using the XS++(v3.1) tool but it seems that its not able to retrieve any info from phone.
As with a few people I have been having a couple of issues with my N85. Rebooting, Connection Errors, etc.Rang Nokia today to check to see if they had any solutions to the problem of the rebooting while charging and while on-hold thought I would check my firmware and got an update.
One very small problem I have found though is that my phone keeps asking for my lock code, and when I enter the code 12345 (I have not changed it) I get a message that COde has been entered 5 times and will unblock in 5 mins. THe phone still works fine however so not sure what is going on there.
I forget my master reset code so can't reset my nokia n96 & also can't use any mamory card. When i put in any mamory card thn phone asking for lock code but i 4get tht...I updte my firmware but still its not fixed...
I am having multiple problems with my nokia 6085 and thought it would be best to restore to factory settings but when i try it says i need a security code. i dont have a security code and have never set one on their.
I just got my N79. I wanted to set a code that will be required each time the phone is switched on. Which code should I be changing? I tried changing the PIN code but was required to enter a PIN code. Anyone knows what the default PIN code is as I have not set any PIN codes yet. I only have a few tries left.
I have an iPhone 3G with the latest OS.I have a Vista PC.I want to do a complete factory reset to original settings. My phone has become so slow, I want to a fresh install so that I can get back to how fast the phone was when it was new a year ago.I want to backup my contacts, music, videos, photos and safari bookmarks so that after a complete reset to factory settings, I can easily get back my data. What is the best and safest way to do this? Safest as in - it has been tried by others and works reliably.I know that iTunes has a backup feature, however I don't want to backup all the apps on my phone, just my data. I can put the apps back later on.I just need to be able to restore my contacts, music, videos, photos and safari bookmarks.
I wanted to reset my new N85 to factory settings, remove all data and apps I'd put on it, etc.
So I tried all of:
1. "Hard Reset" (aka "3-fingered salute" with 3 days on power-up).
(just to see how each one behaved).
The last one I did was *#7370* ("Format Phone"). I would think this would restore all the original software that had been on it. However, in "Installed Applications" it had nothing at all, and "N-Gage" was missing as well (it had been installed when I got the phone).
Does anyone know if, perhaps, "*#7780#" restores those programs? Or do some things just disappear completely and can't be retored (except perhaps from the CD that came with the phone)?
I was having connectivity issues with my n8, and found that if I turned it off then on again, it would work ok again.Yesterday I did this, and when it restarted, it came up with the "select a country" etc. It had done a factory reset by itself. I hadn't backed up for a while, and lost all my contacts and files, even the contacts stored on my SIM card!Plugging it into my PC to have a look, the mass memory says 14.2GB free of 14.2GB (ok, there is nothing left), but the phone memory says 0 free of 255MB. ie full! But checking all the folders, there is nothing there.
