Why the guider voice in ovi map doesn't transmit by FM Transmitter? that's ridiculousWe need the voice transmission ...I have Nokia N8 and I updated to Anna and then Belle
I currently have an N86 which is pretty good as far as i'm concerned. The only things i can fault it on are a rather flaky operating system which tends to crash a bit too often and a very fragile screen cover, but for the most part i can live with these issues.I'm currently due for an upgrade on my contract and would like something that does much the same as the N86 does, but the sticking point is the FM Transmitter function (referred to as "Play by Radio" on some handsets) which i use a lot. Neither Nokia nor any third party seems to produce a list of current handsets which has this functionality built in, perhaps because its use is restricted in some territories and thus varies.
I am a fan of Internet Radio and love the FM transmitter (Play via Radio) built into the N8. The best thing is that one can use both at the same time to transmit an internet radio stream to an FM radio!
One bad day I decided to follow the highlighted Nokia remark urging me to update the Internet Radio software..... I have Anna installed and Anna update 2/2 includes IR version 3.03. The download and installation via Nokia Store went smooth and version 3.04 was up and running soon.
Side-remark 1: how can one see on store.ovi.com which SW version is being offered? I can only see version information using the nokia store app on the phone. Displaying the version in the on-line store would be very helpful!
Side-remark 2: the IR version on offer through the nokia store app is 3.4.0. After installation it states version 3.04..... I found this very confusing. Is this a regular numbering convention for Nokia?
Side-remark 3: did anyone see any differences between 3.03 and 3.04? Both look very much alike! What is the reason for going from 3.03 to 3.04? I do think that 3.03 could be looking a lot better!
With version 3.04 up and running, I decided to start the FM transmitter. The very moment you press the on button the radio stream stops. In the widget for internet radio, the play symbol is now visible. Pressing it to turn the stream back on, the music plays for a fraction of a second before the stream is again stopped. No matter what I tried, I cannot use the FM transmitter together with the Internet Radio 3.04 app.
I searched the internet for the 3.03 version and re-installed it after removing 3.04. Fortunately I can now again run the Internet Radio and the FM transmitter at the same time Is there a solution for this? Why Nokia doesn't test such basic things before releasing the update?
Well my factory fitted car sterio is playing up and i'm looking at getting a replacement. before getting a N8, having bluetooth for streaming music in-car seemed like a good idea but now I have the ability to stream music via FM, is it worth getting a bluetooth enabled head unit? is the sound quality and different?
I had a question If I log in to a Music site on N900, a website which plays live streaming Music and if i Wanna relay it to my Car Audio system using the FM Transmitter in the N900 can I do it ? Mind you it is a website which plays live music.
I use together with my iPhone 4s a Jabra Sport BT Headset especially certified for apple devices. Sometimes, I can't hear music with it, because no sound is transmitted from my iPhone 4s. Normally this little airplay-symbol appears in the music-app, but sometimes it does not appear and I can#T choose the Jabra device. All other functions of the headset (make a call, receive a call, activate SIRI ... are running, the Headset is connected with the iphone but not with it's music!!)
When I run Internet Radio, I can only select Wi-Fi access points, no 3G or GPRS (in my case: Vodafone Live!). Other apps do show all access points. This is a pitty as the application is rather nice. The app does show settings for the GPRS, 3G and Wi-Fi bitrates, so obviously it does support these connections.I've deleted and re-installed, to no avail.
I installed Nokia Music 3.0 on my Lumia 800 (UK - no branded) 7.10.8112.7 Location - Kazakhstan / Operator - Beeline
When I run the first time, in menu I can find My Music / Radio Mix / Gigs / Setting. After couple of time I enter/exit from the app, Gigs and Radio Mix disappear, and I have only My Music and Setting. Means I can't anymore listen to online music or download radio mix for offline listening. If I uninstall the app and install again, the first time I found the complete menu, but after they disappear again. Without Radio Mix menu the Nokia Music app is not useful anymore.
I think it would be nice if the following topics were all merged into one including this one./t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Navigation-and-Music-Player/m-p/431753/highlight /true #M9985 /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Bug-music-player-volume-disabled-when-navigating-with-maps-v3-03/m-p/612.../t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Maps-3-03-final-music-player-volume-is-muted-during-navigation/m-p/61365.../t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Ovi-Maps-3-03-incoming-call-problem/m-p/615330/highlight/true#M16876 /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Hello-does-anyone-know-how-to-answer-a-call-with-speaker-while/m-p/63738.../t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/What-happens-when-you-re-using-nav-mode-on-Ovi-Maps-and-someone/m-p/6179...I wanted adress this issue as we all complaint of the same:When using OVI Maps 3.03 we can't control the music/radio volume during navigation and during voice guidance indications (messages) the volume is dimmed but then it won't come up / increase to the previous level! Also we need a IN-APP system to answer calls and transfer them between the speakerphone and loudspeaker and also to increase and decrease call volume without altering the navigation (voice guidance) volume. The voice guidance should have a option in the menu to be interrupted during a call (and come back imediatly after it ends) or to continue playing during the call.In summary I would like the following addressed:
- Create a screen indication inside OVI Maps 3.03 of the music playing in the Music Player or the station in the Radio Player when navigating; - Mute the music or radio when a navigation indication is being given by dimming the volume, and immediatly after the indication is given, increase the volume to the orinal volume level. For close navigation indications, no music/radio volume increase should occur! - Allow changing of track (Music) / preset stations (Radio) inside the OVI Maps App during navigation; - Allow the increase of the volume of the radio or Music inside the OVI Maps during navigation (and choose the navigation volume inside options or using alphanumeric or directional buttons); - Allow answering and changing calls from speakerphone to loudspeaker from inside the OVI Maps 3.03 app, and also, call volume!
I have installed the Internet Radio Application onto my Nokia N95 8 GB. With the T-Mobile wireless broadband I can browse stations, but when trying to play a station it states "Playback Failed". When trying to connect through my w/lan (which works, as I can use it to browse the internet) the "Internet Radio Applet" states "No Network Connection". After trying this several times I have uninstalled the applet from the phone memory and installed it again in the 8 GB mass memory. No change - the same problems persist. What is wrong with Internet Radio on the N95 8GB?
I am encountering some trouble when usign mix radio in offline mode. More precisely I have a Mix downloaded to the device. After each song, music pauses and I have to resume manually. I do not know if disabling the mobile internet connection does help, but when at home on WiFi, the problem does not occur. I.e. I have the impression that offline mix radio with mobile internet enabled has open issues.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to customize the FM-transmitter for the N86 with RDS, so it also sends the artist and title of the song being played to the FM-receiver used? Now it only sends "Nokia", but that means there must be a function for the "sending part".Had a SonyEricsson W980i before and it had this function. It's not a must, but is really neat when using the FM-transmitter in the car. Nokia doesn't want to be worse than SE, does it?
Nokia X7 brings music, games and videos to life on the massive 4 inches touch screen - sounds good - and I am very interested in this phone, but I can not find any information on an internal FM Transmitter in the manual...
- Has Nokia forgotten about this very very requested feature in this "Big Entertainment" Phone?
- Would the FM trasnmitter Software from C7 work on a X7?
Thought the new Nokia N9 was going to give me everything I wanted in a phone, particularly 64gb memory for my music collection (10,000 songs). So I could finally say goodbye to having my nokia phone and also carrying my 120 gb ipod for my music. However I note there is no FM transmitter in the phone so I cannot use a N9 in my car as my music source to play via my radio. So unfortunately the N9 just misses on being my perfect phone, seems I will just need to keep looking or wait until Nokia produce a better phone or for Nokia to just add a FM transmitter to the N9
The fm-transmitter is something that I use every single day on my way to work. Instead of burning CD's, using BT or Aux. The FM-transmitter is the simplest solution, and it spreads my music across ANY radio in ANY car. Here in Norway we are phasing out the FM network so it can be replaced by DAB in 7-9 years time. Then think of all the FM-cars that would need a phone like the N900 or N8 to keep the noise flowing.I recently bought the N9 because of false advertising by sites like GSMarena claiming there was an transmitter there and only software were needed.I still have 1 week before my refund-guarantee runs out on the N9. If I don't figure anything out on the transmitter, It's being shipped back and N9 becomes my last Nokia phone.
I have a Ford Ranger, fitted with a Nokia CK 7W. I have a Nokia N96 and this has worked brilliantly with the CK 7W since I purchased the vehicle in October. I have recently bought a high end ipod transmitter and used it since Christmas and very impressed with the permormance, and had no problems.Last week the vehicle went in to have towbar electrics wired in and since then I have had problems, I believe with the car kit. The handsfree works wonderfully over bluetooth, and the radio functions fine. However when I use the ipod transmitter, I get a beep every 30-60 seconds from the carkit through the radio. I have tried switching off the bluetooth so I know my phone isnt connecting, and tried it connected. Still the same beep. Is there any chance the transmitter is affecting the car kit? And why would this have changed since the work, would it be to do with the battery being disconnected and the car kit needing a reboot of some kind?
my fm transmitter is disabled but in my country fm transmitter is LEGAl? what should i do??? any patch or something like that?? I NEED my fm transmitter.
I'm new here and i would like to know if anyone got the same problem as me. i received a new phone after having a problem with the older, i received it with the PR1.2. until that i was abble to listen music on any radio device but now it's impossible, the transmitter actually work, when i check activating the sound stop on my phone but i got nothing on my radio, i tried to boost the frequency but still nothing, anyone have an idea about what happen?
after updating to symbian anna my fm transmitter stops working... i tried to reinnstall the software then also its not working.what should i suppose to do???
I would like a fresh update on the your experience with N97, after la latest updates.
I am considering to buy a N97 phone, because is the only smartphone that could the following, ordered by priority:
A. Mandatory
1. simbian + gps + garmin mobile on N97 (i will install)
2. touchscreen + large screen 3,5" + good res
3. WiFi + full qwerty keyboard
4. FM + transmitter
5. bluetooth
B. Not as mandatory , but neither optional
6. Good video/photo camera + geotagging
7. large memory 32GB
C. Optional
8. battery has a good cpacity
9. 3,5 jack
I am looking forward to N97, and not mini N97 because the mini ver, doesn't have 32gb and screen is smaller 0,3" and no fm transmitter.
I took in consideration even the iphone, but the main problem is garmin, because is not available for iphone. And secondly, I want simbian, because I will use diferent software without paying/unlocking.
I am looking toward a used with warranty <4months N97 => cheaper > 40% , brand new is too expensive.
Have had my N8 for well over a year now, and made frequent use (almost Daily in the Car) of the FM Transmitter feature, today this appears to have been somehow Disabled, with the widget being removed from the menus, when trying to activate from the menus I get the message 'Feature Not Supported'.
In Ovi Maps software the voice instrucions no longer get played over the FM transmitter. What happens is, the music goes silent on the FM, the voice instruction and the music is played on the phone speakers (or Bluetooth device, if connected), then at the completion of the instruction the music goes back through the FM transmitter again.
I need FM Transmitter software for NOKIA E72. i has the hardware but no software.know if there is any possibilty for FM Transmitter software for NOKIA E72.
