I have just bought the 5800 XpressMusic and am having problems with the proximity sensor. The phone works as it should when I make a call, i.e. the screen goes off when I hold it to my ear.The problem is, I have bought a Krusell leather case for the phone, it's the proper recommended one too, but once the phone is in the case the screen goes off when I make a call. The sensor is not covered as there is a hole on the case that allows the light sensor to work.My question is, can the proximity sensor be disabled in any way? I have been through every menu option there is, even done several factory resets and been on the phone several times to Vodafone, all to no avail.I really want to use the case I bought as it cost £20 and protects the phone really well, it's also much better than the standard rubber pouch that comes with the phone, as it allows you to use the phone while the cover is on.If there is no way of disabling the proximity sensor it's a pretty poor show on Nokia's part.
