Nokia :: E75 - HTTP/ HTTPS Proxy Settings
Q: Why can't I browse the web even though the WLAN connection is working and the IP settings are correct?
A: Check that you have defined the HTTP/ HTTPS proxy settings correctly in the advanced settings of your
WLAN access point.

IPhone :: Cisco VPN / HTTP Proxy But Still No Wi-Fi
In trying to set up my Wi-Fi connection settings, I've run into a bit of a brick wall. My school uses a Cisco VPN with both an account/password and a group/secret system as well as a web proxy server. I've managed to input all the correct IPsec Cisco VPN configurations into my iPhone and received the normal VPN client banner that I receive when I connect using my MBP. With this, I'm able to cruise all the intranet pages of our campus network without inputing any additional proxy information. Now comes the frustrating part. In order to cruise the rest of the internet on campus, IT requires an http proxy. After inputing the web proxy settings and the port numbers provided by the IT department into the HTTP Proxy>Manual settings of the desired SSID, my Wi-Fi connection goes from a full 3 bars to no bars in terms of signal strength, my connection peters out even when trying to load intranet pages, and I still can't connect to external internet pages.

Nokia :: E72 - Proxy Settings On Applications
Hey can anyone help me with setting proxy settings on applications? At university we have a wlan using a proxy server, i set up my access point with proxy settings and port number. Web browsing works fine: when i start web browsing, i am asked to enter my user name and password. But the problem starts when i want to use applications like Vyke Mobile, Chat, E-mail. Somehow there is no connection. I searched the settings of these applications in order to see if there is some place i could enter a proxy/port number, but nothing worked. Any suggestions please, it's driving me crazy !!!!

Nokia :: 5800 Proxy Settings Not Saved
I've updated the software of my mobile to V20. I defined a new internet access point. When I try to set the proxy settings for that access point through Settings--> Connectivity --> Destinations --> Internet --> myaccesspoint --> Options --> Advanced Settings. I see two options: Proxy server address, and Proxy port number. When I fill them with correct values, I hit Back, and Back. Go to the proxy settings again, and it's empty,Because of this I was unable to connect to the internet using my work WLAN as it requires proxy.

Nokia :: N79 / How Do I Configure Proxy Settings For Browser In My Phone?
I have a single ethernet connection in my college and connect to it with my laptop. I can create wireless networks and share my internet with my laptop. It works when other laptops connect to my laptop through wireless LAN. I just got a new N79 and was wondering if I could do the same with it and how? I tried but its not working. Also, a related issue might be that I need to connect to a proxy server to access the internet. How do i configure the proxy settings (with usernameassword) for the browser in my phone.

Nokia :: E75 - Default Number Settings Are Not Being Used
Firstly, I have set the default numbers for voice calls, SMS, email etc for all of my contacts. Yet every time I send a message or make a call I get prompted to choose the number. The default number settings are not being used. When I check the contacts the default number settings are all correct and haven't been lost. Secondly, I am now on my second E75 handset as the first one suffered from extremely low signal strength. This one is the same. I am currently waiting for a new SIM to see if there is any improvement. Where my previous Nokia N82 and N79 both had a signal strength of about 25% - 75%, the E75 spends most of its showing 'No network coverage'. I am on Vodafone in the UK and apparently they don't use USIM cards on their 3G network, just SIM cards. Does anyone know if this would make a difference? In areas of good reception the phone works fine with full 3G/3.5G etc. Lastly, there seems to be some inconsistencies when applications access the Internet. I have set up access points for GPRS, WAP, and wifi. I have also set up the 'Destinations' with the order in which I want the access points to be used. This works great for the web application which happily connects via my wifi if in range or via GPRS if not. However the email application seems to insist on using specific access points NOT the destinations. This is really annoying as it checks email using GPRS even though I am within range of my wifi network. To change the access point to use wifi means changing both the incoming and outgoing access points for every email account and then changing them all back to GPRS again when I leave my home/office! What is the point of having the great idea of using 'Destinations' if some applications don't use them?

Nokia :: E75 - Updated Software / No Internet Connection Settings
I have updated to the latest software update and I now have no connection to the internet. I use the Access Point = "Always Ask" function so I can choose which network type I want to use. What I have also noticed is that none of the configuration applications work they just start and do nothing e.g.WLAN wiz and Destinations under settings. I have managed to get email working by changing the configuration of email to point at a specific access point. However I cannot get Web or Maps to work as I cannot start the applications to change the configuration of the access point. Is there anyway to wipe the network configuration and start again? Or is there other options here? I have tried a hard reset but this does not seem to wipe the Access Point config or network settings.

Nokia :: E75 - Email Settings / Feature Of Exchange Mail
I have a E75 and I have configured a couple of mail accounts on it. Works quite great, besides one thing that its seems be a difference between my mail for exchange account and imap/pop accounts. If I enter the "settings" in Email, under my mail for exchange account, advanced settings the access point is called "Internet". If I look under control panel/settings/connections/network destinations I can find "internet" containing my preferred WLANs and 3G connections. So, that works great. But under Email/settings for my IMPA/POP accounts I cannot choose "internet", but only the actual access points such as individual WLAN or 3G connections. Why doesn’t the dynamic and great feature of exchange mail work with POP/IMAP accounts?

IPhone :: Save PDF Files / Songs By Filename / Safari Proxy Settings?
I have recently bought an iPhone, and after reading the User Guide I have many small basic questions. I'm using an iPhone 3GS together with Windows Vista. I wouldn't like to clog this forum with multiple topics about small things, hence everything being here: 1) Is it possible to save .pdf files to the iPhone? I have limites web access, and I often use a few pdf files. I would rather use storage space for them than downloading them all the time (even with cache). If this isn't possible without external applications, which reliable application can save documents such as pdfs and docs to the iPhone? 2) The iTunes Store is not available in my country for buying movies. Given how I'm using Windows, is there any way to transfer movies to my iPhone? Whenever I try dragging a movie to iTunes on my computer, nothing happens. 3) In order to access my work's network from outside computers, we need to set our browsers with specific proxy configurations. Is it possible to set a proxy with Safari? Is there any way of doing that at all with the iPhone? 4) I have began using iTunes in order to move my music to the iPhone, but iTunes and the iPhone automatically organize everything based on song title, while I have organized everything based on filename. Is it possible to make the iPhone and/or iTunes display and order songs by filename? I could manually rename everything, but with nearly 1000 songs... 5) Is there a Find command on Safari, corresponding to control F on other browsers? When reading long pages, I miss being instantly able to locate a specific word. 6) Is it possible to use the recorder built withon the iPhone to record a phone call? Is there any application capable of doing so? 7) I have set my Gmail account to the e-mail function, but I have noticed that, unlike the Gmail website, the e-mail application doesn't keep conversations together (like what the iPhone does with messages, keeping a message and its replies together). Is there any of setting the Mail application to do that? Information: 3GS with 16 GB Windows Vista

Nokia :: E75-1 And E75-2 - Models Using The Same Hardware
the difference between a (1) E75-1 and a (2) E75-2 Looking at the spec, I see the main difference is the 3G band E75-2 aka E75-NAM supports 850/1900/2100 WCDMA E75-1 supports 900/1900/2100 WCDMA. My real question is if these two models are using the same hardware and all one has to do is re-flash it to turn a E75-1 into a E75-2 or the other way around....

Nokia :: E71 / MfE HTTP Error Code 451
I have an issue with syncing to an Exchange server. This sync used to work perfectly but since two days ago stopped syncing and started showing HTTP Error Code=451 in the log. Could someone please fill me in on what this error code means so that I can facilitate the troubleshooting of this problem on the Exchange server. The Exchange server is a hosted account that I pay for. I am lucky enough to have two E71s and have tested the connection from both handsets with the same result where as both handsets happily connect to my work Exchange server. This is no doubt a server configuration problem by my provider but I need information as to what the 451 error code is so that I may get this resolved.
