I went camping for a few days and had no service and turned my phone off, and now that I have service, the little text message icon on the bottom of the main screen disappeared. When I turned my phone on after I got service I recieved a couple of messages, but the only icon that appeared on the bottom of the main screen was my voice mail icon. There is still an envelope on the top right corner by the battery indicator, but I grew used to having the envelope down at the bottom that told me how many new texts I had and that I could use to open the new text. The point I'm getting at is does anybody know how to fix this? I tried going into settings, general, personalization, home screen, mode settings, home screen applications, enabled applications and turned off message notification and then turned it back on, but it still didn't work after I got a new text. I also turned my phone off and back on again, but that didn't do anything either.
I've had my Blackberry for a few weeks and it's been fine, however the battery went flat yesterday and when I recharged it and switched it back on the text message icon had dissappeared, so I have no way of seeing text messages. I also don't seem to be receiving texts now either!
The text message icon on my blackberry bold 9900 disappeared suddenly. Perhaps, it must been inadvertently deleted or moved to another folder. However, I've tried searching for it without any success. how to get the text message icon restored?
I tried to send a text message over a week ago. The person hasn't received the text, it hasn't gone to my outbox, drafts or sent messages and the text out symbol/icon hasn't gone from the top right of my screen. Its really annoying. Is there anyway to remove it or cancel the text?
When landing in Germany and switching on the phone and trying to send an sms got this error message "Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointerException", after several attempts I restarted the phone an the sms icon diappeared from the menu. I can send sms though through email application, but don't receive them any more, because there is obviously no place where they can go now.. when doing the following messages-view folder-inbox sms again this Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullPointerException appears..
My text icon has disappeared. I can text if i go to messages and choose text vs email. So when i texted myself it pops up on the home screen towards the top instead of my favorites at the bottom. What can I do, I soft booted and hard booted with no luck
The text messaging icon on my Curve 8900 just disappeared. I do not have combined email and text messaging, when I reboot I get a message that says error on java or something like that. All my messages have disappeared, I have run diagnostics and can't think of anything elso to do.
I have a bb Curve 9360 and my text icon has disappeared from my home screen. I can no longer send or receive text messages. I looked on bb tech support page and it said something to do with turning 'fixed dialing" off. I cannot seem to access anything to get it back and working again.
1st off I cant upgrade to V11 of the firmware. I have V10 still. (It says that is the newest version when I try to update from PC or from phone)
2nd I tried reinstalling. I tried deleting ALL sms, g-mail, exchange, AND system messages + all calendar appointments. When I get a new e-mail the mail icon appears and when I read the message the icon disappear as it should. However the sms message icon NEVER disappears no matter what. Its constantly blinking as if I had unread messages.Does anyone know if this problem and even better, how to solve it? Ps. Do anyone know of a MSN / Skype application that support showing new messages on the front (home) page?
I updated my MBP to Yosemite 10.10.1 and also updated my 5s to 8.1.1 and had the option to forward text messages from my iPhone to my macbook, but now that option has disappeared. At first none of my messages were sending to my macbook but I managed to fix that, however, SMS messages will not send to my macbook and I don't have the option to get a code? I definitely did it before so at one point all the settings were correct.
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.
After only a couple of days with my torch and not having modified it all, all of a sudden when I click on the TEXT message icon, it just shows my regular inbox. It used to show only SMS messages and was really cool. Now it shows emails and all!
I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck.So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing
Message inbox icon (notification/ indicator) for Text message does not appear on my Torch 9860 when I receive text message (the little tiny text message bubble icon).I get it for email and blackberry messenger (little envelop for email, blue bubble for messenger) but nothing for text message.
At some point today my text message icon has disappeared. Thinking that I somehow moved it to another folder I started opening everything with no luck. I've reset the phone and pulled up my BB Protect. It's gone! and now because of my messing around my Help file won't open.
My "text message" icon recently disappeared from the "All" menu. It was seemingly replaced by a second "contacts" icon. Luckily I had it in the "favorites" menu as well so I can still access them. However it is annoying to have to flip to the favorites menu just to read a text message.
I have since set it so text messages go to the general messages inbox, however I would prefer to get the icon back. I have tried pulling the battery to no avail.
