I have a question regarding the email app of my new E75 phone.
In 95% I check my emails via my WLAN at home. Everything works fine until I start reading a mail in HTML mode. When there is some graphic to download it starts automatically a new connection via UMTS/GPRS instead of using the established WLAN connection.
I could not find an email oder internet setting to let the device work properly. This behaviour has caused some extra payment to my mobile provider until I found the open connections.
How can I setup the device that it uses only the WLAN connection, if available?
I have a N97 with an unlimited data plan. But I am having a problem, when I receive or make call or send text message my phone show this message packet data connection on hold¯, and when I finish the call or sent the text message the phone shows Packet data connection active¯.There is any way that I can change this? Before I went to Spain I downloaded the maps of a part of spain and switched of automatic connection to the internet (Allways ask). For the determination of the location only the internal gps is switched on. I don't want any roaming connection to internet during my stay in Spain.Starting OVI maps pops-up immediately the question for a connection to GPRS which I canceled. It is, if a connection is made to GPS, possible to find my possition but finding a route to a address doesn't work. All I get is the question to connect to GPRS and if I canceled that nothing happens, in other words it was not possible to search for a location / planning a route.Do I something wrong or is this standard behaviour of OVI maps?
I try to connect to the internet on my 5800 using GPRS or WiFi, I get an error message saying Connection not available. Then, I get another message saying Web: Unable to perform operation. I've tried using inbuilt browser, opera and fring. Can't even access downloads application or Ovi store. I'm using V21. Net used to work fine upto about 1 week ago. No new apps installed since then.

I am on O2 & have a problem using the pre-installed Opera Mini browser on the phone. I can use the generic browser known as "web" & it connect perfectly, but I like Opera Mini for it's compression capabilities & had it on my N73.
The problem - Opera Mini will not connect to the net, so I removed it from the phone & downloaded it again from the Opera website. Still the same problem:
When I open the program it says "Allow Network to access this application? This application is not from a trusted supplier" So, I select Yes. An Information box comes up "Web Setting GPRS" It then starts installing, and during the process the "Allow Network to access...." comes up about 3 or 4 times, so I select yes every time.
When it finally reaches the end of the installation, every time it says "Error" "Failed to connect to the internet, go to Operamini.com/help or contact your service provider with internet settings"
I have full 3G service when I am trying this & I can connect via the generic browser..
I have bought new Nokia 5130 Express Music handset on 26 Dec 2009 and Reliance GSM post paid connection. I have got settings from reliance from GPRS, WAP and MMS setting. The problem faced is whenever, I connect to opera mini browser, it connecting for 3 minutes and shows failed to connect to the internet. I thought, it is GPRS setting or network problem. But, after lot of enquiry with Reliance, they forwarded the settings.
I just got my invoice today and it claims that a lot of times I used the internet, while I only allowed the GPS to use the internet once. What can be the reason for this? How can I make sure my phone does not try to use the GPRS connection?I noticed in the GPS settings that A-GPS is used. Does that use an internet connection?
There i have an icon on the top of my phone its a g in a square. in the book it says a gprs connection active. how do i get rid of it. it has been there all day and chewing my battery! Now its an E instead of a G.
I am using the Lumia 800 for the past three days and am in love with the phone. Works beautifully on WiFi the naviation once the maps are downlaoded is perfect and the touch and feel of the phone is absolutely brilliant.A sore point in the past three days is the patchy connection to GPRS on Airtel India. I have spent a few hours with their tech support and they are unable to get me online. I have update the firmware to the latest avaialble - 1750.0805.8773.12220 with no luch in connecting to the GPRS connection. The display shows an "E" next to the signal strength indicator but no luck in conncting.
The steps I have tried so far are as follows: a. Settings - Mobile Netwok - APN set to airtelgprs.com which is recomended. b. Used the default Network Setup software to update the settings,Reset the phone to uninstall all applications and bring back to default state assuming that one of the software issued caused this problem. Is there anything else for me to try before I take it to a Nokia Care centre for trouble shooting?
Gmail / Hotmail - Error out with error code 80072EFD.Internet Explorer - not able to access even google
while trying to save battery on a typical day, just using Exchange 2.0 and Nokia E-mail Services on push, I have turned off high speed connection and using GSM for this purpose. Battery life really increase and phone is usable on a full business day. But, the issue I am facing is that GPRS connection does not automatically pause while making or receiving a phone call. Conclusion: call quality is terrible. You can barely rear what people are saying as GPRS would never handle both.Does anyone know how to change this setup and make it pause the connection? I am not sure where the problem is coming from as this should be an automatic procedure.
My Bionic is reallying driving me nuts with this. It will contantly flip from 4G to 3G and then back again. I can be in the middle of downtown Dallas and have full bars and it will do this fliping every 10 or 15 minutes. This kills the batt and screws up all my push apps like Activesync email. I can have the phone sitting in one spot and the 4G signal will go from full bars and slowly drop to no bars then 3G. Other times full bars 4G and bam right to 3G. I have a VZ 4G Mifi sitting right next to it and the signal meter nevers leaves full and works like a charm the whole time. Funny part is until earlier this week it was fine so I just dont get it.
My bold won't stay connected to a neywork for more then 5 min. It constantly asked if I would like to connect to the network. I also cannot switch to any browser but media net. I change the browser, click save options, go back in and its still media net.
So I was wondering if I would be able to leave an open GRPS connection stay active constantly so I wouldn't have to wait for it to reconnect everytime i wanted to surf the net.So I checked the weather on my Touch and promptly went to bed with the GPRS connection still open. When I woke up the next morning, the BatteryStatus plugin reported that the touch used ~1Meg in data overnight, however I also had the Spb GPRS monitor installed, and that program only reported ~10kb being downloaded: the data used to update the weather.
So overnight i either used 1meg or 10kb with an open GPRS connection, which is correct?
I recently bought a BlackBerry Curve 8900 on the Dubai airport when I was passing through. Now I am trying to set the phone up so that I can use GPRS to download my POP e-mail. My problem is that I can not seem to find the way to manually set the GPRS up and the POP mail options (according to the manual) does not exist on my phone? If I go into the "Email Setup", then I only have one option and that is "I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server".I will appreciate if anyone can explain to me how to manually configure the GPRS settings on a BlackBerry Curve 8900. And also, how I go about to be able to also set POP e-mail accounts up.
I've got my U600 set up to connect via WAP and the browser is set to use WAP but each and every time I try and send an email it decides to ignore the profile set for it and connect via GPRS. The browser uses WAP quite happily (although slowly) but the email simply doesn't do it.
I have been trying for weeks to get my Samsung E250 to work as a modem connected by USB to my Laptop (WXP2) and using Orange PAYG GPRS service. I get responses such as 'could not find phonebook entry', 'modem not present' 'or modem / com port in use'. I spent ages on the phone to an Orange techi a while back but the connection which we eventually established failed to work after turning the computer off / on and since then 3 emails to Orange Customer Services have have not been answered.
I cant connect to internet using x10 mini pro. I have downloaded gprs settings but when I use the browser. It give an error no internet connection. I have tried everything in the support page but no luck.
I'm on UK vodafone. I get 3 types of reception - gprs (lower case) GPRS (caps) and 3G. I understand these range in quality, and I think they affect what I can do at the same time e.g. with 3g I can surf, text, talk at the same time. But can someone tell me actually what the difference is?
Right, here's my actual problem. I used to always get GPRS no matter where I was, occassionally 3G. Since lunchtime today I've been getting gprs and 3G, but mainly gprs. Can anybody think why? Now, I'm sure this isn't related, but the "change" co-incides with me foning voda customer services. They changed my price plan from 35 to 30pounds a month. Coz new customers were getting a better deal than me. Gggrrr! There's no way customer services could have messed with something?
I have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.
Does anyone know how many contacts the E71 can hold? I have about 5000 in outlook and am considering an E71 after several years of different Ipaqs and just see the speed get slower and slower with newer models.Maybe the contacts can be stored on a Memory card in the E71?
on daily basis humans do many things unconsciously. Our brain processes subconscious behaviors in order to make us compatible with different design elements that we come across with. I find it interesting how people with different hand sizes tend to hold their cellphones with respect to the cellphones design itself. Please post a picture of how you would usually hold your cellphone when you use it (dialing numbers, texting, etc.). Since many people usually pay no attention to how they hold their phones, I findthe best way to make this behavior accurate would be to pretend like your taking your phone out of your pocket, or purse or w/e then try to use it right away.Take a picture, and post it here.
