Nokia :: Cannot Uninstall Older Version PC Suite And Install New
I had PC Suite ver 7.1.18.0. There was connection problem in it. I tried to uninstalla it and install newer ver 7.1.26.0 (finnish). But installatin stops always in 84 % and nothing happens. ThenI stop installation (when it is hanged) and try to uninstalla ver 7.1.26 program says than there is an other installation going and nothing can be done unless installation is ready, but it hangs again at 84 %.I have try to use Nokia PC Suite Cleaner, but it finds only PC Connectivity Solution an NOkia Connctivity Caple Driver, not PC Suite itself. I have tried to also maually remove folders. But it do not help..I use Win XP Pro SP3

I'm a Mac user - OS X 10.6. My Nokia is 3500 classic. I have 5000 SMS messages in it that I need to download to some safer location and I cannot access either the Inbox or Sent Messages with my Mac - only images and music folders.I have an old laptop running Windows XP (with no internet connection) so I downloaded the latest PC suite to my Mac and transported it to the XP laptop via memory stik.The latest version of PC suite refuses to install on the XP laptop saying that the OS version is not supported. It is XP 5.1 service pack 1. I do not wish to upgrade the junk laptop.

when i try to uninstall PC suite version 2 from my pc, it says pc might be in safe mode or windows installer is not configured properly.. i installed windows installer file from windows site, which was about 2MB, but no use. Also, when i try to install new version PC suite 6.0 from Sony Site, it installs and next window opens, where there is a progress bar, and it stops just near the end, and says some file not found.

I updated my phone's fw to find out there's no Maps for it at the Nokia web site. When trying to start the app, it prompts me to update itself which seems to be impossible. Is there any way to delete the maps icon? I don't want to have it around if it is useless.Or, is there an older installer that my phone accepts, somewhere to be downloaded?

For the last 2 months i can not use Ovi Suite from my phone. After the network selection option it stops working and the screen stops loading on OVi logo and only 1 option in settings which is EXIT. Is there a way to uninstall OVi completely from N97 and then reload it?

Using windows vista. Installed Ovi suite from disc supplied with N85 phone. Then tried to update it from Nokia web site. Installation not commpleted. Getting interactive services message which says The Nokia Multimedia Common Component cannot be uninstalled because it is required for Nokia Music. I have tried to uninstall all the Nokia software but it wil not let me as it says there is there is an ongoing unistallation process in progress. I tried to down load PC suitre cleaner but this will not run.

Nokia Nseries :: Uninstall Public Transport And Maps Suite?
How do I remove/uninstall Public Transport and/or Maps Suite from my N8/Belle? Public transport is useless unless you are traveling to those cities - it should be optional to load as are the maps.When I check via Nokia Suite on my PC I can see those apps listed as installed (see pics.). But I CAN NOT see ANY of those in Settings -> Installations -> Already Installed. Is there any other way to remove besides from resetting the phone?

I have a big problem.... I can't install or uninstall anything on my 5800 . I have custom firmware 40.0.005. When I try to install or uninstall something it's says: Unable to start operation. Installer already in use.....Also A few days ago I had a problem with OVI store and I installed it but the shortcut is steel in the Application menu. ( if try to enter in ovi store it says that I have to update the application and if I try, I get an error). Is this a virus or a software problem? What should I do?

I've noticed that the last few trips to the US have cost me more than usual in terms of data roaming. I typically only use BBM when I travel South.Is it possible that BBM 5.0 uses more data than the previous versions? Could the addition of the profile pictures, and other added functionality have increased the data requirements? An average day of BBM usage for me would be around 100kb previously, now it seems to be just under 200kb. The cost difference is negligible, but it got me thinking about the efficiently of 5.0

I found that there is a new update for iPhone, the iPhone 2.2. I was very excited for the street view of Google and updated my iphone. It turns out that the iPhone 2.2 takes up too much capacity, says 3.55 GB. I am using the old iPhone (pre-3G generation) and only have 8GB. For me, this is just ridiculus that the newest version of iPhone software takes up so much space and leaves no room for more music. Does anyone know is it just because I am using the old generation iPhone? Or is it the same for the 3G iPhone? If it is the way it is, I just want to go back to the older iPhone software so that I can have more space for my music. Does anyone know how to do this? I am a proud new owner of an iPhone 3G; as I just upgraded earlier today. Now my question is in regards to iTunes. I have never installed iTunes on any of my machines (due to its lackluster performance on PCs) but obviously to fully utilize all of the iPhones functions iTunes needs to be installed. Is it possible to install an older version of iTunes, say version 7.7.1 and have full iPhone 3G compliance? I could care less about the Genius Bar features of iTunes 8. From what I have gathered, it seems that iTunes 7.7.1 runs a bit better than iTunes 8 in terms of speed. Or is the performance about the same?Feel free to offer any "performance enhancement" tips for iTunes to make it somewhat usable.

IPhone :: Swapping Purchased Apps With Older Version
Is it possible to just copy a purchased app file from the itunes folder where they're stored, install the newer version of the app and then if you don't like it, drag the older file back into the itunes folder and sync the iphone? Does it just re-install the older version again or is there some sort of protection that stops it from working.

Nokia :: E70 - PC Suite Version 6.8.1
I took delivery of a Nokia E70-1 yesterday; my 5th or 6th Nokia 'phone. I installed PC Suite Version 6.8.1, and find it to be a complete nightmare. I am using an HP Pentium 4 desktop with stacks of available memory and HD, running Windows XP Professional SPII patched to date. I have only tried connecting using the supplied Nokia CA-53 USB cable; and so far have only been trying (about 12 hours to date)to get my contacts transferred. In the first instance I tried to synchronise with Outlook Express, but the program kept crashing & on restarting creating duplicate entries on the 'phone. When it runs it is very slow, so slow that initially I thought that it had locked up once or twice when it was simply running as fast as a snail. I then tried to transfer contacts (about 800 in all) from my Nokia 6810 RM2, firstly using bluetooth, and later by copying via the SIM. I finished up with about 1,300 entries on the E70 as contacts, lot of duplicates.... I am now trying to delete the duplicates using PC Suite but it continually locks up. I have uninstalled all the PC Suite software, and reinstalled it - result it won't run at all. I have run the PC Suite repair program which also locks up. The 'phone itself is very "slow", it take an age to "boot", and to disconnect after making a call. Unless I can get a quick solution I shall reject the 'phone, as unfit, and with regret move to another supplier. Final point - this BBS software is VERY poor. I had nicely formatted this posting into sensible paragraphs, but it appears as a single "slab" of text.

Nokia :: Mac OS X Version Of PC Suite?
Why, does Nokia continually ignore the Mac community and not release an OS X version of PC Suite (and Theme Studio for that matter)? Do they not know that most people in the arts, design & music professions mainly use OS X? And I imagine these are the same people that use Nokia, seeming as how Nokia is also tied closely to these communities. The NSeries are a clear example of Nokia reaching out to this set of people.
