Nokia :: Alternative To Opera?
we know Opera Mobile 8.65 doesn't work on many of the newer Nokia phones running S60. And we don't want to use Opera Mini because it defeats the purpose behind having a smartphone. The built-in S60 browser is ok but that's about it.

I used both Opera Mobile 10 beta and Opera Mini 5 beta in 5800 XM. Opera Mobile crashed very frequently requiring restart of the phone! Opera Mini is much better. I also see apparently no difference between Mini & Mobile version! So, I am now settled with Opera Mini.

2 days ago I bought my new cellular - E66 and been playing with it since. Here are my questions to you. Awaiting answers 1] when I'm trying to use Apps Installer to install new themes I get this:the contents of the currently selected phone cannot be shown by this application both with memory card and phone memory 2] do you have creaking noises when you use you're slider buttons?I mean it's not very loud but it's there...perhaps I will get used to it.Some people say it's 'pretty normal'... 3] any really useful freeware available for this phone...? 4] Nokia Ovi Suite or Nokia PC Suite? which one is more reliable/advisable? 5] opera 4 mini or opera 5 mini for my phone? 6] When to start charging e66?my old cell had % and I had read it was best to start recharging when the % dropped to 8-10, how about e66? One bar left or....?And when to stop?more or less when the meter stops or meter stops + 10 minutes, then unplug? 7] currently: 102.07.81 12-07-2008 RM-343 what can I gain downloading the newest soft? do you recommend it? 8] can the balloon tips in the main menu be turned off? those that popup when you choose messages - you see popup saying you've chosen... messages, when you choose gallery there's another popup..icons are self-explanatory for me, so? 9] On my old cell I could configure the picture settings to my liking, i.e. I could choose 2mpix and the desired resolution or 3mpix and the resolution. Is it possible with my e66? cause so far haven't been able to figure it out... or it's impossible, which sucks cause I want my 3mpix and, say, 800x600 or maybe it wasn't possible.. and I'm mistaken with this one lol 10] more to come...

Nokia :: PC Suite Alternative ?
I'm fed up with the immense bloat and all the problems with the Nokia PC Suite, so I'm looking for a PC Suite alternative. Possibly free.I would just need to backup my contacts, SMS/MMS and notes. I don't expect it to backup phone settings, since not even Nokia PC Suite can do that (!!!), but if that works even better.

Nokia :: N97 Music Player - Alternative
Is there a better / alternative music player available anywhere for the N97? The default player is poor in my opinion - the player I had on my 2 year old Sony W960 was way ahead of this Nokia product. Simple things like being able to hide artists associated with compilations seems to be missing.

I had been really looking forward to upgrading my N95 8gb to an N97 but it seems that Orange in the UK have decided to ban it (they did it to the N96 too). They report the problem being software related and that there have been major issues with the uk version of the handset. I know that orange put their own firmware on their badged handsets and wondered if that was the issue. My concern is that I don't want to start a new contract through a reseller if the phone ends up being dodgy and I have to deal with Nokia instead of orange customer care as their repair/replace policy is very good. Does anyone have any opinion on this or alternative handsets? Orange recommend the N86 or E71 or E75 instead but they all seem radically different.

As far as I know there is "Nokia Wireless Keyboard SU-8W" product designed specially for nokia phones. But is there any chance to use regular bluetooth PC keyboard with nokia phones (e75)? I guess there might be some drivers or apps that allow connection between nokia phone and other regular bluetooth devices (PC keyboards, mouses etc).

Nokia :: E72 Chat Using Alternative Access Points
For some reason Chat (the built-in IM client) on my E72 always uses my mobile phone provider's data connection, even though I am connected to WLAN at home. Other applications use WLAN, because it has a higher priority on my "Internet" destination in Connection settings.Chat doesn't seem to have any options at all to select the access point it uses.

I upgraded my phone partly cos my 9500 is not isync compatible. I want to fling my PC, but it is networked to my mac - why cannot Microsoft Entourage read Microsoft Outlook files? How long is it likely to take Nokia to launch an official plug-in? How good are the alternative plug-ins? ...does anyone do one for the N97 mini? Does anyone have a list of alternative web browsers for the 5800xm. I'm fed up with it crashing every 5 minutes. I've tried Opera Mini, and whilst it's stable, and really pretty. Some pages just don't display correctly. Trying to watch BBC TV Simulcast with Opera, and it doesn't recognise something possibly the country.

The Nokia Music Player that came with my E52 is not good, are there any (free!) alternatives? How about an iTunes for S60.I have problems with m4a files, and podcasts not being added (or not visible) to Music library (even if the file is there, and I can play it from the folder).

I know opera mini is only for Java enabled and non-symbian phones and Opera for mobile is for all symbian and Windows enabled phones. Does opera mini provide the same services as opera for mobile? Can u surf almost every site using opera mini? And those who are already using Opera mini could please tell me if you can disable the Small Screen Rendering?

Is there currently an alternative for iBlank on the i4?I assume its not working properly because of Winterboard.all blanks are still slightly visible ( even with No Icon Shadows enabled ).My current wallpaper is quite dark so its not the end of the world but would be nice to get it perfect.

I just found this and it seems pretty cool. you can use this to sync your iPhone/iPod and not worry about updating your device. you get a 15 day trial but it will cost $24.99 to purchase. it seems you can do alot more with this and its easier than iTunes.

A couple of the sites I'm trying to access (especially forums) are no-workie for me on my BJ. If this were a desktop problem I would try different browsers to troubleshoot the problem. I haven't found a version of FireFox for the BJ though. So my question is, what other browsers (besides IE) are available on the BJ and what kind of luck have people had with them?
